Gold going crazy

do you sell now or buy? While at the local coin store I was chatting with the dealer and saw customers coming in and selling gold hand over fist. Then a few minutes later a guy came in asking to buy any gold he was willing to sell! My dealer friend told me that this goes on all day long. Some people sell and some come in begging to buy what ever he will sell. Same with silver! He can not keep a silver coin in stock, raw or certified! GOLD 1938D BUFFALO? Hi collectors,I just wanted to share my recent purchase that arrived today.Its a 1938-D gold buffalo nickel in ms-66.Yes I said gold. US MINT Press Release 15 Jan 2010

First 2010 coins released I just checked the US Mint web sight and was pleasantly surprised that the US Mint will be releasing the first of the 2010 coins. The 2010 Native American Dollar will be available in $25 rolls beginning at noon on January 22. They will be the usual Special Mint Wrapped rolls from Philadelphia and Denver. This year they will be selling at 32.95 per roll just like the Presidential Dollars. You can order 10 $25 dollar general circulation rolls from the mint right now

I do have a passion for the collection so you know I had some hefty reserves on quite a few of them. I can be very sure that HSN is Pre selling 2010 ASE's!! I think everyone is going to get a big kick out of this one, The next time all of you watch HSN selling and showing graded coins that no one has at that time, look close at the ANACS slab and the coin in the slab! Do You think this is violating the copy right laws?? A Gentleman on EBay is using the Grade Name NGP; (Numismatic Grading Pros) Giving Coins the Grades above and beyond the coins physical appearance. Example: 1954-D Franklin 50c MS-65 Grades for $110.00 and NGP's Grading is MS-68, and the actual appearance of the coin by the naked eye is clearly AU/MS-60 priced at $20.00 Big Difference.   NGP is very close to our Used Grading Name NGC, now the problem is the seller on EBay (mr.morgan) is

The Eagle Had Came

A box from ebay was at the post office today and it has an eagle in it. Just like any other day, I seat a round at the computer or waseting time watching tv or movies, but to day is a little difference . The box from ebay come and it contains one beautiful big 1899, Black Eagle it looks like a extra fine 58 to about uncirculated condition, real nice looking note. Oh the wait!

Waiting to see the grade. Having submitted coins for my first time I've never thought that it could be so nerve racking to wait for the time to come. The Heinz ketchup " anticipation, making me wait" commercial comes to mind. In some ways it is exciting to finally be in the world of collecting. I've been collecting for some time but have never bothered with getting the coins graded or even compared how they may stack up with others out there. I can't wait to find out. David

I Am Honored

I really won?

I was completely unexpecting this! The number 1 Best Presented set for my mom's 1947 birth year mint set? I didn't even bother checking out the winners until about mid-day on the 9th. I had about twenty completed sets of modern coins that I knew would get No. 1 awards along with the masses, so for me it was really no big deal. But I'm almost positive I saw an article in last year's Coin World congratulating the winner's of NGC's awards. Can anyone corraborate this and if so tell me which issue it was in?
