MS 70 is a great preservation for toned coins that I use. It preserves the coin and keeps the toning at it's stage. leaving a nice tone and a sweet looking jewel.

No. You are wrong. I like my coins preserved. Toning is fine but the ones I send in for grading are preserved as well to slow down any growth. I am old school

I don't agree with much that you write as well sir.

slabs are not sealed. Silver tarnishes over time. If a coin you have starts to tarnish or tone in a dark manner then you need to send the slab in and have it preserved and re slabbed. I have seen some real dark toned morgans that were beautiful when paid the desired price but turned so dark that you could not see the details of the coin. That eventually eats away on the top layer of the coin. Old school collectors kept their raw coins preserved. Toning was a defect in their hobby collecting. To each his own. Toning is not good for metals.

I also have a very rare 1940-D DDO VP-004 MS64 This quarter was sent in as a MS65 for preservation and variety plus label. NGC downgraded it as there was only one other graded. NGC reg # 3784380-001 -- ONLY 2 graded to date ---- $650

I have been thinking of breaking up my proof sets and spending them as well. There are quite a few San Fran parks quarters business strike (2012) -- PL out there. I just sold around 20 to a guy at face. He wanted them.
