Ebay has good and bad, just like everything else...BUT

It seems to be getting worse, for sellers!! That should tick off a bunch of people, and I am always good for shaking up the status-quo. My mission in life. :-) I do not have the track record of my good friends Jackson and JimL, in the 3000+, but I am well over 1500, so I am no insufficiently_thoughtful_person either. Should You Have To Have A Registry Entry To Be Able To Use This Forum?

No, I don't think so I thought that the comment that members should have to register at least one coin to 'be heard' to be pretty lame. I doubt many agree with it. But as with everything in life, you have up and down, good and evil, black and white, silver and clad. I used to have ALL my coins registered. Now they are not. I chose to withdraw them. Burnished Coins

Why is it that the burnished NGC coins aren't labeled as Burnished? Why is it that the burnished NGC coins I have, like my Silver Eagles aren't idenitfied as "Burnished"? For instance, Proof is identified as PF, and Mint State is identified as MS, so why can't Burnished be identified as BMS? The label dosen't even state "Burnished" on it. My eyes aren't as good as they used to be, so I have a difficult time identifying burnished coins from some mint state coins. I know that it is the surface p

1960's and earlier 5c choice or better examples are showing up in circulated rolls My favorite way to collect is by discovering, not buying. And I figure everyone else out there is already collecting older coins, so I focus on modern. So original bank wraps and circulated bank rolls are my affordable way of collecting. In full agreement with Jackson! He pretty much hit the nail on the head with regards to Ebay. I have no way near as much action on Ebay as he does...for me under 300 transactions...but I do just about everything he describes. I have bought and sold all sorts of things like cars, household items, computer items, and coins with only a couple less then positive experiences. Getting worse There are a great deal of taxes yet to be heaped on the hobby of coin collecting. In my opinion, look for taxes to drive up the prices of ALL areas of collecting, which I believe will drastically reduce its popularity for years. We need to make sure that we have our thinking caps on when we vote the next round of yay-hoo's into office. E-Bay is getting worse I imagine that the main reason some vendors in Ebay use the 99 cent or 1 cent draw, is to get some interest in the item. I tried both buying and selling on Ebay, and although it was only a few years ago, I have not used Ebay as a buying option because of the rampant fraud and scams in there now. Question About Chopmarks To Beaw

I have seen similar marks on currency I was just wondering what purpose the chopmarks serve on the coins? My understanding is that when these marks are made by different countries on paper currency, it is to show that the bill has been verified as genuine and not counterfeit. Is it the same for the coins? And if so, doesn't it seem like a waste of time for coins, as the probability of someone counterfeiting a coin is much less that for paper money. I have never heard of these coins, so I guess

Just thinking of little tid-bits and wondering Nothing special tonight but questions that I've thought of in the past. An Upgrade For My Franklin Set, First Coin For My Dad's Memorial Set

I have some nice coins, but lousy imaging! Hi All! At least I tried and didn't obscure my set. My scanner is on vacation. It should be back today if I can get te error message to go bck to where it came from. My all-in-one did it, but what a lousy image for coins. Not to worry. Chopmarks!!

are more than mutilation. Every coin we encounter in circulation has its history and the older the coin, the more more history has accrued. One of my favorite collections is my set of Chopmarked U.S. and Foreign coins.
