Handed out by President Eisenhower himself!
I started research about the Eisenhower appreciation medals and would like to share current findings from correspondences between the White House, US Treasury Department, and the US Mint in Philadelphia.
Printed numismatic documentation of this medal and medal series is sparse.
I would appreciate any information/images that can be shared with me in completing my research.
The significance of this medal are:

2013 Reverse Proof Buffalo
Ok, I have been wondering about the reverse proof Buffalo. It has a restricted ordering time and all, but do the big authorized purchasers get them first again, and at a discounted price as well?
I am looking at getting one being first year of issue and all. What would be best, buy from the Mint? Buy from the after market now or later? Buy one already certified now or later?
I guess I just am not experienced enough about gold buffaloes. I can take a hit on
I dropped 50 registry spots overnight
Its seems that I dropped 50 registry spots overnight and I didn't remove any coins from my sets. has anyone else have this happen to them?

Silver up... $1300.00 per ounce
I just checked the NGC site melt values... Silver up over $1300.00 per ounce... higher then gold value.... I think some thing really went globally wrong in the world today or, someone punched in the wrong keys when updating the Silver melt value...
Have fun everyone... we all need to laugh once in awhile.

Just Received My 5 Coins From NGC 4 ASE Set and 100 Greatest 100 #86
I started to get my modern coins graded because my insurance required appraisal for my coins or I just get melt value for them. Not having a lot of money I just get 5 coins a year. Well this year I got two sets of the ASE West Point. So I started to debate whether to send them or just keep them un-graded. Well after seeing the market for ASE WP 70's set for $289 and up it was cheaper to send them off and hope for 70s. Total c

With the addition of this 1926 Buffalo I jumped into the top 100 for the first time at #99.
I started my Buffalo Nickel set in March of this year with a #220 ranking. With a completed Indian Cent collection that was finished way back in 2006 at # 8 and having now slipped to its present #15 ranking, I committed to putting together a representative Buffalo set with a top 25-30 long range goal.
One interesting piece of information that I wa
More photo upgrades
Hi Everyone. Recently I have been sending out some coins too a fellow collector to have some photo work done. Here is an example of one of his photos. It is my NGC MS67RD 1973D Lincoln Memorial. NGC currently grades 6 at this level with none finer. I have read over the years all the post about having pictures in your set and how most collectors like too see what others have and dislike the obscured sets. I want too give a shout out too one of my fellow penny collector
why Me

Its been rewarding and a challenge thus far.
First off,
I want to thank "SBH" for the compliment he left on his own registry set about mine. Not everyone appreciates sticking to only grading or buying NGC coins.
Secondly;
I still have a few FDI dollars left in the First Day Issue set, I've been selling them off one of one. I could add them to my Business Strike set but that is not the intent to that set and I could never get the Number One set in my lifetime unless I was for

Another 1861/0 Half Dime...
Having just made a purchase that now ranks as #1 costliest addition to my collection, I did not want to spend much, if anything, in the recent Heritage auction in Orlando. But one coin did catch my eye. It is an 1861 half dime in an old NGC slab graded MS60 and sporting a CAC gold sticker.
The coin is not particularly attractive, in that the toning is a bit splotchy and is not an entirely pretty color. There are no apparent marks on the obverse, and only a couple

One of two or three 1898 double eagles designed prooflike by NGC.
With each new acquisition for the Grandview Collection of Liberty Double Eagles in 2013, I plan to describe the coin and relevant background information with a journal post.
When I first saw this coin offered, I suspected there was an error in the listing. I initially thought it was a prooflike S-mint twenty, because the 1898-S $20 in PL is tied with the 1904-S $20 as the second most frequently encountered prooflike twenty.
1994-P SP70
Friends, As I added a few pics this was a very tough shot to get. I added this swell SP70 a week ago and was asked for pics when I had them. Was not sure which side ti show off but the reverse is my favorite on the PF Jeffersons as the steps and rails are usually fantastic!!
ENJOY!!!

Glad that one is over!!
Friends, I did finally get the coins returned for the latest submission. The 70's were tougher than the 80's and 90's will be. Most the 70's were in need of NCS to remove a haze that covered most of them. Of course it is harder to guess the grades on musty coins as it hides the small hairline scratches and tics. I sent in two 1971-S Lincolns and received the same grade on both - MS64RD. One with NCS and the other without. The Quarters and Kennedy halves did well and now
Located on Lookout Mt, Colorado
There is One Coin in the Museum, a Morgan Silver DollarThis is, a not too good, photo of the only coin in the Buffalo Bill Museum on Lookout Mountain, Colorado. Both Buffalo Bill and his wife are buried at the site west of Denver, overlooking the Denver Metro area. This Morgan, has a hard to read date, was shot thru by Buffalo Bill Cody. This is the best of the several shots I took of it as it was on a rotating display that allowed views of all angles of the co
Cutting down on my sets, but will still be doing western mints
I write this with some sadness in my heart, but some happiness too. I have made the decision to cut way back on my sets. There are 2 big reasons for this. First, the cost of finishing my Buffalo Nickel set in any kind of competitive grades will cost me a good amount of dollars. The sadness here is I REALLY LOVE the Buffalo Nickel. Along with Morgan Dollars, these 2 coins are my top favorites. Secondly, I do have other interests, ma
Is a 1909-S VDB red equal to a 1958-D?
Sometimes I don't understand the scoring system. At first look it is almost a dollar per point system or maybe it is based on rarity? But by what standard, mintage bears little to no resemblance to population (severely overestimates in an un-equal distribution) or the population reports (which over estimate due to re-submissions). The score seem vaguely reasonable but I have a pet peeve. In the type set it seems you should get more points for say....
Slowly adding to my Indian cents.
Well this week I have something a little different than my usual Lincoln cent. I found an Indian Head cent in one of last week's auctions that fit in my budget and is also a nice coin for my Indian cent set.
This set grows very slowly as obviously it is not my primary focus right now. When a nice one comes along you just have to nab it like I did. Enjoy the change from normal.
BTW, there is also a new Lincoln in my 59-Date set if you care to look.

Two - SP 70 2013 ENHANCED FINISHED FIRST RELEASE
One - PF 70 2013 W EAGLE REVERSE
ONE -- PF 69 2013 W EAGLE REVERSE
Very happy that I got 70's for my Enhanced Finished coins. And to have a West Point set graded 70. All coins are labeled with the West Point Label.

My custom set has more than 500 views!
Thanks to all of you that have viewed my custom set "Amazing 8s -- Charles III Portrait 8 Reales 1772-1791".
The special thing about a custom set is that it's uniquely your own. For my set I selected 20 coins from my collection of 8 reales, one for each year of issue that featured the bust of Charles III (some posthumously) and made sure to choose examples from a variety of mints.
I did some research and tried to include a few interesting facts a

Very nice example
Hi everyone. Recently I decided to have my registry set pictures upgraded to better present my sets. I want to thank ROBEC for the awesome photo work. This is my PCGS MS66RD+ 1972DDO that is CAC verified. PCGS current population of 5 with 18 graded higher and NGC population of 0 with 8 graded higher. I was fortunate to pick this coin up about 2 years ago for just over $900. Not too bad considering the last MS66RD+ PCGS example sold for $1763 Heritage Auction 10/12 and t
