About three years ago my mother-in-law told me that in the basement of her parents home in Minnesota was rolls of old coins her father had collected. Her father passed away nearly 30 years ago and no one knew what was down there. 08/07 reverse registry is slot coming

It was confirmed I called ngc this morning and I spoke with someone I have been doing buisness with and that person said that they WILL be a slot probally within the next 2-3 weeks.This means now it is a vam 1 and vam 2.Now people need this coin to complete this set.Price will be soaring by June.This makes this coin the rarest of this set.I hope everyone is holding on to this coin.THANK YOU NGC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!

The Final Shot on a Dead Horse

"This would be a kick in the head" The mint, as well as coin world seems to call the '08/07 reverse a VARIETY more so than an error. The mint still illustrates the '07 reverse on there site for the 2008W MS silver eagle. If this is indeed a VARIETY as the mint wants you to think, and not an error, there would be nothing to stop the mint from producing the 2008W in BOTH varieties for all of 2008. I like the discussion! I am glad to see this coin is creating alot of discussion between people. It's good to see a coin do this especially a modern one. Now my belief why it's value is going upand will stay high. The mintage numbers will have an effect on the coin. If 47,000 is correct or adjusted some time later remains to be seen. But I believe the price reflects how popular the SAE series is. It is the most popular coin(s) being collected right now! People want this coin and want it bad!

Scoring and Ranking Well, I was entering some of the coins I just got back from NGC overnight, and they increased my score slightly. My score jumped to just over 295,000 over all Registry points and my overall rank in the Registry dropped from the mid 80s to 76. I have NO idea exactly how much it takes to lower ranks from 88 to 76 as I did, or for that matter, how much it might take to lower myself from 76 to maybe the "Top 50". Precious Metals Moving Up Again

Silver closed up $.72 today and Platinum is back over $2150/oz! Is this the beginning of the rebound in metals? Platinum has quietly moved back over $2150/oz. Silver up $.72 today to $17.66/oz and gold is up $14.20 today to $918/oz. I hope others have used the "dip" to advantage and picked up any or all 3!! I know I did. One of the latest purchases.

Hype or not find "zero" for sale of the reverse 2007 eagles in Texas

This was the 50th anniversary of TNA (Texas Numismatic Association)coin show. I went to this coin show and there must have been over 250 different dealers present. I am in the process of building a Morgan collection and that was my main reason for going. Now back to the subject at hand! I visited several dealers and when I pulled out an ungraded reverse of 2007 coin to swap, they only wanted to offer me $225 for the coin. On eBay they are selling between $300 and $325 ungraded. 20th Silver Anniversary set

Is my memory failing? I have been corrected that the 20th anniversary (Silver) set was not available for approximatley 2 months. To my knowledge, the sets went on sale around Holloween and did not sell out until the second week of December (so my estimate is about 6 weeks and I did say approximately). It's Economics and it's that simple! I agree that this coin will end up being that "once in a lifetime" investment opportunity for coin collectors. It will not even compare to the 2006 anniversary sets (which sold out VERY QUICKLY by the way- not two months). The 2008 is a different variety, and if it sees 25000 I would be surprised. I can see both sides of the argument. Not to mention both sides of the coin. I wouldn't encourage someone to go out and BUY 5, 10, or 40 coins (or more) for the very expensive prices that the coins seem to be commanding now. Don't put all your coins in one roll!! I don't mean to be argumentative, but the 2006 20th anniversary set (SILVER)took almost 2 months to sell out not one day. If I remember correctly, those sets sold for about $4,500 for a NGC PF/MS70 set when first available. You can get that same set today for about $1,500. In my opinion 900 coins per state is quite few. From my perspective I would rather have gold or platinum for the money. I like low mintages and low populations, and high intrinsic valu

2008 -W SAE Reverse of '07

STILL DON"T GET IT!! I wish someone would explain the prices ask and receiving for the 2008 ASE with the Reverse of '07. Census reports over 10,000 graded with 4,700 or so in MS70. Where is the rarity? Even if only 47,000 minted. One writer indicated prices at $1,000 for an NGC and $2,100 for a PCGS. I expect that the 2008 W total mintage to be around 600,000 based on prior years and the correct reverse in MS70 is barely breaking $79.00. To make another point look at the 1997 Botanic, only ab
