EXPRESS SERVICE....THERES NOTHING EXPRESS ABOUT IT...CAN WE GET A DISCOUNT????

Express service....fairly costly but worth th money to get your coin back in 48hrs...but is it worth it for 6 days? Time to have a little rant....people that have read my previous journals know im not the most patient of people...from checking numerous times per day to see if my grades are back to even calling when i feel i have waited too long....but this one takes the cake! some of us pay for express grading for a number of reasons...some dont want to wait and have deep pockets, some need it

Who will be next Well guys this is looking more and more like a Agatha Christie murder mystery novel: The Case of Double Spouse Coin. So be afraid very afraid or you will end up like us. Insulted and envious, a faith worst then if we had a ape name cheetah that understood the written word better then us. Hang in there Tarzan and look out for that tree.

RE: Ebay Adams thing... Where's the Love?

Here is my recent experience with a Collectors Society member. I was the winner of a coin (what a surprise). After I entered the coin in my Registry set I received an email from the system requesting a transfer of the coin I had earlier entered. I rejected the transfer. A short while later, I received a very apologetic email from the member who had received a 2nd chance offer from the same seller. What a nice gesture. Thanks RUPERT!! This is a good one, VERY FUNNY

An insult email from a Collectors Society member Hi everyone, Well you all know that last week I was the first one to post a journal a bout Adams on Ebay and a week later, I get my first insulting email from a collector society member. I was wondering why he sent it a week later, until I read it and I know why, I think it took him a whole week to write it. First of all, I was only making a statement. Here is the email he wrote word for word, "Why are you talk bad about this lister??? Are

I guess this adams thing is not over yet

Don Quixote wrote me and just insulted me why? Well just got a email from member Don Quixote and he asked me why i talked bad about the seller of that Adams Proof 70 spouse coin last week. I really didnt say anything bad about the seller ( is the seller maybe you ) Well he told me to get a life and i was jealous. Now that was not very nice of you to say that to another member that was only looking out for their follow members and the pictures was very very suspicious they were doctored up or s

1885 Morgan Dollar

Starting to upgrade one of my sets. I just received an excellent upgrade for my Morgan Dollar Set. It is an 1885, MS 65*, with a beautifully toned reverse. This is the highest graded coin in this set and I just want to share it with everyone. Thanks for looking. Here is a quick picture; I have placed better pictures in my set.

Uncertain Economic Times Hitting EVERYBODY

This has to include the Mint Greetings again!! Well, recently I became a "Public Service Employee" and just about as soon as I was employed by my County Government, and thrilled to have some basic benefits ( affordable health ins. and some days off I never had before) they were talking about how "next year these bennies may cost more or disappear" The County relies on sales taxes to sustain itself, and people just are not BUYING anything except maybe GAS...ARRRGH!! So, when I was to

Something To Share With Lover's of Morgan Dollar 8TF's

Just a slight upgrade of my set........... I love when the mail man rings the door bell, because in most instances he is looking for my signature. I really enjoy giving him my autograph. Nobody ever wanted my autograph when I played baseball in high school.....I knew at the age of 10 that I would never be a pro baseball player....I still love the sport even though. Anyway here is the little jewel that came in the mail today. Keep on writing your journals guys because I enjoy everything that yo

I Need Help...

In more ways than one! A lot has happened in the approximately 2 and 1/2 months since I've written a journal entry. The first (and MAJOR) happening is I've really redefined my focus. In case anyone hasn't noticed, I've pulled my Large Cent, Half Eagle, Eisenhower (both proof & Uncirculated), Walking Liberty short set and my Franklin FBL sets off. The main reason for all this is the total of my credit card bills (am I the only one who spends a lot on coins??). I've come to the sad realiza

Back at it with the Presidential Dollars

"The worm has turned and is now packing a uzzie." Back in December I bought some Madison dollars and brought my Presidential dollars set up to date, complete for 2007. I was fairly proud of what I'd done. The set had 7 MS65FD coins with MS66FD for the Jefferson "D" coin. The set was ranked 80th but with all the ties and such I was really around the 100th position, not bad for a category with 451 sets. Well, after that I started trying harder to finish my SAE set and finish my 21st Century no

Hodgepodge

An update on my last two months. So much for following my "plan". I have severely steered off course but have made quite a few acquisitions lately. From mid April to todays additions I have gone from approximately position 1050 in the overall registry to position 792, where I now stand. Now for the "HOW" part... I started out trying to complete my 2004 Mint Proof Set, which I have done. I am waiting on the 2004 Proof Clad Dime to arrive so I can enter it and officially achieve the No. 1

I Have Gone SAE Crazy!!

Bought another one! I just purchased my 5th MS SAE this month!! Man, I can't believe how these things have gottin' under my skin. I wish I started with these wonderful Eagles way back when I started collecting the Proofs. I got a good start on the collection now and hopefully I can finish both the MS and Proof by the end of the year. I hope everybody enjoys these babies as much as I do! Jeffrey

A Retrospect of the last Few Months

It has been a rollercoaster ride.... Greetings again everyone!! It is a sunny bright day in the 90's here in SLC as I sit in a very comfortable air conditioned space inside...which has made me do a little retrospective thinking about the past few months, and a little bit into last year. AND a bit of future news for my plans for my journal here. I think the 2 most newsworthy events that has happened to us all as coin collectors are obviously, the "Reverse of 2007" and the stunning $20 an

American Silver Eagles

No upgrades for this year. This year my plans were to upgrade a couple of my American Silver Eagles from MS69 to MS70. The set was 100% complete, with all of the 2008?s added a few months ago and I wanted to try and get into the top 50 sets by the end of the year, but those plans got squashed last week. Last week I logged in to my account to read some post and found out that the 2008 W with the Reverse of the 2007 had become a required coin for the American Silver Eagle Mint Set. I went stra

Why such a price span?

1971 proof 69 DCAM cent Alright, I know I shouldn't of did this, but I'm thinking of making one last purchase (and REALLY t'ing off the wife) but I just now noticed the 1971 PF 69 DCAM (or ultra). I may have noticed it before, but with my memory, who knows. Now it's fresh. The company PCGS list it's worth for $12,500, and NGC list it for $1,380. Now I do know that I used to always say that that cent was worth $11K, but I was shocked to see it now at $12,5K, which is a bigger increase th

Finished!

A Set is complete! I finally did it. I got the last BTW commemorative that I needed to complete the full set of BTW's which is 18 coins. They are all graded MS65 with some sprinklings of MS66's. With those coins I didn't even crack the top ten. I ended up at 12th. That's OK though as the scoring was never part of my priorities. The grading was important but not the scoring although breaking the top ten would've been nice. For now I think I'll keep them all in a nice NGC box in my safe. Once I

"VAM" again

Newest addition! ..Hey mates this is my newest addition to my VAM collection. With the wild market talking place in the Silver Eagles, I felt now was time to talk another look at Morgans. ..I would like to thank King of Eagles for his excellent advise! ..To the folks at NGC, especially Amy Lorenzo and Lisa Berzins, thanks for making this hobby so fun! ..This might be my last post for awhile. It looks like I will be having heart surgey next week. If our good Lord still has work for me to
