Holy Cow!!!!
One afternoon my father in law said to me, "lets both take $250 dollars and buy some coins to sell on E-bay". I said sure, so we listed all our coins and took what profit we made and reivested and did the same thing several more times. Within six months we both had $2,000 dollars in our paypal accounts. That was 3 years ago and also the last time we bought and sold coins on E-bay for the most part. I have been collecting ever since and I might add am quite addicted. I have also en

IT IS VERY INTERESTING INDEED
Going through some of my Lincoln Memorial rolls and found 4 very weird ones I hope I can get the pics uploaded at one time. One is full of pits, 1976 on the reverse, a 2008 that is full of what looks like bumps or bubbles, my favorite a mint green 1978 D, and a 1984 D missing some of it. Just stuff I thought may be interesting to show, and maybe get some comments or other pics of weird ones. Thanks for looking. Oh yes, I am finally seeing some 2009s and alot o

My new addition may not be all that intriguing but it is ...
none the less an MS67RD top pop Lincoln.
Hi friends! I scored a nice little MS67RD NGC 1981 P Lincoln Memorial on Teletrade tonight. It only has a top pop of 11 coins at NGC and carries a whopping 16 points. It has a value of more than twice what I paid for it so it was a great deal. It doesn't do much for the score but it puts me one coin closer to complete set.
Here she is!

Farewell to the coin that started my "problem"...
I used to be an "old coin" snob. Coin collecting to me was owning bits and pieces of history. I thought that the US Mint collector's products were a little bit of a cop out (for lack of better words). AND poor investments at that! Then one day in 2000 I got something in the mail advertising the latest mint offering, and this one caught my attention big time! it was b-imetallic and beautiful! The 2000 Library of Congress Commemerative $10 c
Swapping out the toned coin for the red example
Hi Everyone. Last night I picked up this nice NGC 1981D Lincoln Memorial with a NGC Population of 7 to replace the PCGS example in the same grade I had. I am posting a picture of bot examples. I added the NGC example because the population report is lower and I think the color on this one stands out. My PCGS example will soon reside in another collectors collection. I hope you enjoy the picture as much as I do. As always, thanks for looking
The 1949-D MS64
Here is a shot I took after removing from the old mint set that shows a better view of the edges.
Maybe a trip to NCS to get the duller toning off would improve the grade. I did see a small nick on thee obverse but never really studied these dimes close as they simply went in for their beauty not the grade so I am happy overall!!

NGC blew me out of the water on 1 coin
Friends, The grades were just as I thought on most.
The 5c got a nice grade of MS66
The no mint mark 10c got a grade of MS66
The S mint mint mark 10c got a grade of MS67
The 1949-D dime that I thought would be a keeper was the only bad choice as it came back MS64??? I must have really missed something.
Over-All not a bad investment on grading and I sure hope the Roosevelt submission does a little better.
I leave you with a pic of the dime tha
Parting is such sweet sorrow
Greetings all;
Just a heads up as I have decided to part ways with my complete Kennedy Proof collection. I have it listed at the Money Marketplace.

I went crazy over coin this weekend!
Hello collector
The Wife and I took the Kid over to college on Wed and we took in a few vacation days over in S.D. well one of my stops was this little coin store over in the Mall I was able to pick up coins for most of my collection 3-s pennies, a presidental 1 day of issue dollar in Ms it a lower grade 64 but oh well it worth more then I paid. Pick up a 54 Franklin 64-fbl NGC. worth more then I paid. 1 state quarter for the Grandson.I was dissapointed
Did I enhance or destroy this coin?
After some discussion on the merits (and dangers) of dipping proof and uncirculated coins (I agree, NEVER dip circulated coins) I decided to do a few experiments. For part one, I cracked out a graded 1952 proof half that I thought had unattractive toning and haziness. I did my standard dipping procedure (which NEVER resulted in a 'details grade, by the way), and I resummited it to NGC. The before and after photos are below, results will follow...

Gulliver has nothing over this coin...
After 3 full weeks today is the day I will finally receive the MS65 1860 3 cent silver I won at session 1 of the ANA show. This session was held Sat Aug 3 (pre-show) from Stacks Bowers, As the final auction session was Aug 14 (after the show ended) no invoicing occured until the 16th as it is their policy to close out all auction sessions before billing ( the policy is clearly stated on the site). I quickly made payment the 17th. At that point I kept chec

My wife is a penny hoarder. For years she has kept a jar of pennies on the kitchen counter which she regularly adds to by saving the pennies in her pocket change, cleaning out my pockets and stopping to pick up every penny she sees lying in the street.
My wife is not a coin collector by any stretch of the imagination. In fact she knows absolutely nothing about numismatics and does not understand why anyone would pay more than face value for an old coin.
When my wife was a little girl, her m
Date and mint mark?

Finally decided to send it back in for another look even though it most likely isn't worth it!
Some of you will remember this 1960 nickel from before. After looking at dozens upon dozens of 1960 nickels, I have decided to send it in for a relook. It is currently at grading/quality control so it will be soon that I find out the verdict. This coin has obvious signs of a proof but it also has signs of many of the MS coins I have seen as well. I'm hoping for a proof strike on an MS planchet. Yes,
You've heard of ADHD well I have ADOS Attention Deficit ooooo shiny
I've been a bullion trader and collector for years (note still shiny stuff) and my wife inherited a collection of proof sets a little while back that peaked my interest in coins and then I discovered that uncirculated coins are a lot prettier than the circulated Junk Silver I sell. So I see a nice liberty and ohh gotta have it, then a morgan oooo must have, then a peace then an Ike or a franklin. So as you can imagine my colle
