1968 DDO FS-101 Roosevelt Dime NGC MS 65

Just returned after NCS conservation. Year: 1968 Grade: MS 65 Registry Points: 72 NGC Pop: 5/2 Purchase Price: Self Made Seems a paltry amount of points for a coin that only has ten graded examples at NGC. In all of my mint set searching I've found about a dozen 1970 DDR and a couple 1969 D/D coins, but this is the lone example of the 1968 DDO coin I've found. Could it be a TOP POP Variety? Six Mile Rick and I see this as an FS-101. Take a look at the arrow points and though not completely obvious in the picture there is a second "D" to the east of the loop clearly visible under magnification. More opinions please. All of my Registry Sets are now 100% Illustrated and Described!

When I established my 2012 numismatic goals and objectives I set a goal of having an "Owner's Description" and image for 100% of the coins in my "Competitive and Custom Registry Sets". I am pleased to announce that as of last night this goal has been accomplished. All 125 coins in my "Competitive Registry Sets" have an "Owner's Description" and at least a low resolution image. My 1984 D arrived!

Now for the pic. Here she is, the coin I mentioned I traded for last week. She finally made her way home and into my set. Isn't she a beauty? She carries a 2169 point value. My set still resides at #8, for now, with 22969 pts and only 520 from 7th place. I expect to take that spot within the week. That is IF NGC holds off on any more point adjustments. Will my 75th Anniversary ASE Set ship today?

It shows my order as backordered until July 27 which is today! I hope to get an email stating that shipping happened today. Turns out NO! What are the chances of that? Very low! I hope to come home next week to find my set waiting for me on the step. I did receive an email on July 29 confirming shipment of my set. Today is July 31 and perhaps it will show up today but not likely. None of the tracking numbers seems to work at UPS so I can't follow it thru the system. To see old comments

Good week

Pickup a couple of coins and sold some silver. The mail is slow but it does it job today in the mail I got a package from Rick it had 2 coins I needed for my 2 main collection an 2011 W Eagle in Ms 70 now in all my collections I have 6 coin in the 70 grade. I also recieved a 1950-D FBl Franklin in 64 not the highest grade but still a nice coin that wont brake the bank. I also been working on a display box for my coins and Mint sets. Another great trade underway!

Maybe I can share the details before the weekend. Hi members! Let me start by saying my 1984 D I spoke of last week is at the post office for me to pick up tomorrow (I missed it today). Colorful 1936-D Mercury Dime MS 67 FB * (STAR)

WOW - Mercury Dimes Don't Get Much Nicer than this STAR Coin! I always love to find nice MS 67 FB or better Mercury "Winged Liberty Head" Dimes for my collection, but it is always nice to find one with the NGC coveted * (STAR). A stranger saved me from a $50 blunder!

Plus a valuable lesson-always check the coins very closely! This story is almost too embarrassing to share but hopefully it may help a fellow collector avoid the mistakes I made. Re-Shuffling My USA/Philippines Type Sets

Playing with the new "Filter Ranking" application can be really addicting. When I saw that my USA/Philippines Type Set ranked number one when viewed through the "NGC Coins" filter I began to wonder if I could build a 100% complete NGC set, with the coins that I already owned, without sacrificing the quality and eye appeal of my "All Coins" set. Update: First GSA Softpack Morgan is back

Close up of GSA 1884-O Morgan Reverse Mhomei.... Here is a close up image of the Reverse of my GSA Softpack 1884-O Morgan. I tried numerous times to get a better image of the Obverse but, was not satisfied. I used a holigen (29W) light and my cell phone camera to get this image. I attempted to scan the Obverse but,it looked bleached out and dull. The Reverse came out pretty good using my cellphone camera. Notice the dark spot on the Eagle's beak.
