NGC 1996 D Lincoln Cent in MS 68 RD
Yes this is a common 1996 D Lincoln Cent with billions minted in Denver. Still it is nice to find one in MS 68 RD condition. While NGC may not give MS 68 Lincoln Cents many points I still think they are fine coins to collect. Their prices are also much more reasonable. Enjoy!

Greetings fellow Collectors Society Members. Just for fun test your numismatic knowledge or research skills by answering the following two part question: What U.S. BRANCH MINT produced coins in 1920 and 1921 with no Mint Mark and what denominations were involved?
I will give you three hints.
(1) The answer is not Philadelphia.
(2) Five denominations of coins were involved.
(3) You can find the answer to both parts of this question in the "Red Book".

FOUND IN LINCOLN CENT ROLL.
Found this in a Lincoln cent roll. On the obv. ? is a large 50 and 1969 below it with aflower blossom up through the 0 and the word GROSCHEN at the very bottom in capitol letters. The rev?has a shiel with a wide band going left to right and vertical lines above and below it. The words REPUBLIK `O`STERRICH`. Foreign coin buffs, oh it has a reeded edge, what do I have? A New VAM Set Focused on Morgan Dollars in the GSA Soft Pack
I have been lucky to acquire some VAMs in the GSA soft packs over the last few years, and decided to start a new registry set. These coins are rare enough already, it is kind of crazy to even try to assemble a VAM set. Here is one of the rarest in my collection to date, a VAM 117 for an 1878-P 7 tail feathers with a reverse of 78.

Today's Journal entry is the second installment in my weekly series on the United States coinage for the Philippine Islands. The first of the twenty slots that compose a NGC USA-Philippines Type Set is the Half Centavo of 1903 - 1908.
The Half Centavo was designed by Filipino artist Melicio Figueroa and engraved by U.S. Mint Chief Engraver Charles Barber. The obverse design shows a young Filipino male seated next to an anvil holding a hammer in his right hand, his left arm raised, and in the
since posting and purchasing any coins!!
Good evening everyone,
Just want to start off saying that my SF Giants are still alive after squeeking out a win tonight against the Reds...on to game 4!
As the title stated it was been quite a few months since I have purchased any coins or posted any journals. But I have stayed active by reading all the posts and I have commented on a few here and there.
Now for the good news...I have received my 2 coin San Francisco SAE Set from the Modern Coin
Wow, I like the retro holders!
Today, I received a retro holder Silver Eagle. You have to see these in hand. The black core makes the coin and label sick out!
Too bad NGC didn't stick with the black core from the beginning.
How popular it's becoming, let's hope NGC might make this a option in the future. I would love to have some of my coins re-slabbed in these holders but, NGC doesn't offer it at this time.
Outstanding NGC!!!
Happy collecting! Jimmie

Greetings fellow Collectors Society members. Today's Journal entry is the first in a twenty-one week series that I will be posting on the United States coinage for the Philippine Islands. Each week I will describe in detail one of the twenty slots that compose a NGC USA-Philippines Type Set.
United States coinage for the Philippine Islands is one of the most interesting and historically important series of U.S. coins.

or: Finally my insanity pays off!
I previously wrote about a 1990 Prestige proof set that I purchased feauturing a "no S" cent. Now buying ungraded coins over the internet is always a risky proposition, and proof packaging does not always guarantee a spotless coin. However, after examining fairly high resolution photos, I was fairly convinced that the coin would grade PF69UC, and the asking price was what a PF68 or 67UC would bring.
So as the photo below shows, I was correct. However, I o
I DONT'T THINK IT WILL STOP.
Just thought I would post my latest to my collection and to share it with you all here today. I am coming off a terrible couple of weeks, my brother died and his services were Friday. I say this, because he was a highly decorated Vietnam veteran, and myself being a disabled Vietnam era veteran, I pay some homage to him to let everyone know, I am and always be very proud of him.

A month of major trading
Friends,
I have actually only sold 1 coin in the last month or so out of my sell or trade sets. The trades have been large with three clusters of over $1000 each traveling across the states to get a return of others to fill holes in the sets I am working on. I did two Roosevelt dime trades with Mavins that really popped my clad Roosevelt set into gear and last night a large trade of Silver Eagles to get some Mocom Dollars for the Modern Commemorative set.

With my most recent acquisition, a 1906 PR65 Five Centavos, my "USA-Philippines, Proof Issues" Registry Set has reached a major milestone; it is now 60% complete.
Of all the coins in the USA-Philippines series the proofs are my favorites. Proofs really bring out the full beauty of artist Melico Figueroa's designs and many of the Gems in my collection are absolutely gorgeous.
USA-Philippines proof coins were struck for only five years and in very small quantities compared to modern proof
Many Amercans know that "IN GOD WE TRUST" is on the obverse
Many Americans know that "IN GOD WE TRUST" is on the obverse of all US regular issue coins, but if you are not a coin collector you probably aren't aware that the 1st US coin to display this motto is the 2 cent piece in 1864. This historical fact was one of the reasons I became interested in the series.I recently completed the registry set, the Somerville Collection in MS65RB except for the 1872 which I purchased in MS63BR.

What a QUICK TURNAROUND
Friends, I did a journal yesterday on variety dimes and expressed a thought that was in my mind in the 2nd paragraph. I had asked for a few dimes to help complete TPETERS set. Of course I knew a couple might help in a couple days or so. WOW what a great bunch of collectors!!! There were guys searching E-Bay and even PCGS dealers searching in the PCGS club. It's is a scholar showing that all of you performed and my thanks goes out to you all.

This even surprised me.
Earlier I posted I upgraded my Nickel Proof collection and thought I would never be able to purchase any PF70 UC nickels under the year of 1990. One seller kept having a weekly auction of the 1989 nickel. They were going between $85 and $125.00, I placed a bid on one for this past Sunday for a max of $85.00 and no one bid on it after me so I purchased it for only $76.00!!

Always on the look out!!
Friends, I am starting to obtain a fairly large amount of the Roosevelt dimes. In my pursuits I check the pics of the dimes looking for doubling in hopes that I will find another variety to add trying to make up a 10 coin submission for NGC to grade. The Roosevelt dimes seem to be full of varieties that are not listed on the slabs and obtaining a handful is easy once you load large close ups in your set and check them. Many clad dimes do not have variety attributes lis
My newest Custom Registry Set ("USA-Philippines Top Pops") showcases my USA-Philippines Top Pop specimens. All USA-Philippines Top Pop coins are very special and the five coins in this set comprise quite a spectacular numismatic quintet.
1904 Half Centavo PF 66 RB (Combined NGC/PCGS Population 4/0). The obverse of this rare Top Pop specimen is a beautiful uniform Dark Cherry Red. The reverse is 90% Red with Dark Cherry Red periphery toning. A truly beautiful coin!
