New Mexico Statehood Quarter

Absolute beauty in the design's simplicity I got my Clad Proofs in the mail yesterday, and finally got around to examining them. While all of the designs are beautiful, the New Mexico one really stood out to me. For those who haven't seen the coin yet, it's basically a topographical (I assume) relief of the state with the Sun symbol overlaid on top. Absolutely striking, I think. The Silver Ride

After adding $0.70/oz today, silver is up another $0.40 on the world market. Have I mentioned that I like silver as much as I like gold and platinum? On June 30, 2007 silver was at $12.30/oz. and at this moment silver is at $19.11. A 50% increase. When it gets to $50/oz I may sell some. But some say it is on its way to $100/oz.

Proof Sets & Mint Sets Endangered Species?

Should these be broken up & slabbed or left intact? I was reading in the latest issue of a major numismatic publication that in order to sell single proof coins and even rolls of proofs that thousands of these sets are broken up annually. One firm reported that they break up 150,000 to 160,000 mint and proof sets every year. Another said they break up 5,000 to 10,000 sets at a time. This is just two companys. If this is done across the industry then should we keep our sets intact? I

I landed in the top TEN

Well!!! Presidential Dollar first day of Issue collection is in tenth place. (For the moment anyway)   Yea I'm Koin Krazy too!! and can Prove itI just added my latest Presidential dollars to the registry, a James Monroe P&D MS66 FDI and until more collectors add the Monroe coins to there collections I reside in 10th place. I laughed until I cried Reading you guys' and gals' comments about the disease, I thought to share my obsession with you. Usually at Christmas I prepare a gift for a young blind friend. I guess I misunderstood the term 'empty-nesters'! What's the big deal? I keep reading the horror stories from my compatriots here in the Collectors Society about hoping that their significant others don't find out about their addiction and its expense. As Alfred E. US Mint shipping for most items ?

My card AUTH has disappeared.. BUT.. The ORDER STATUS has now changed. Shows as being PROCESSED !! the cancel box is also removed, so I can't cancel the order (lord knows why I would want to anyway) So it looks like I will get my platinum eagle set.. still waiting after about 2 months ! Justification Needed...

for explaining to the wife. Received our tax refund last week so I decided to buy a few coins. Even that thought was a no-no since the wife said to put it in the bank! First Coins Entered! I just started my 2 registries today....Modern Commemorative Proofs and Silver Eagle Proofs. I have quite alot of coins for both but still working on getting the ones that I am missing... the early eagles and the comms from the eighties. I got the "Skinny Chickens"

Do I or Do I not..... Do I or Do I not ....open the box. One box has the 3 coin Bald Egales set. Second box has a set and all the other coins that were issued (i got 5 of each). I want to look at them and show them off but I also want them graded. I know NGC said they were not going to give the coin set a special label, but, come on, 25,000 set deserves a special label. I keep hoping they will change there minds, but I know there not. I will just keep them sealed and wait a while l

July,1969 First Man on the Moon

I am HOPING for a Moon Landing 40th Anniversary Commem next year!! I have always been intrigued with the early days of the space program. One of my favorite movies is "October Sky" and another favorite hobby of mine was model rocketry. I used to always watch the space events as a young boy ( the last I remember live as a boy was the Apollo/Soyuez mission in the mid 70's where USA and USSR docked in space for the 1st time) If I am able I catch the shuttle take-offs and landings, too.

that's a good idea for know Your right, it is a good idea to leave the mint box sealed for now, you never know if NGC will change their minds about the 3pc Bald Eagle set. With my luck the day I can't wait any longer and I open the box, NGC will put some news flash about summiting Bald Eagle 3pc sets "LOL" Happy Collecting!

A Bad Cold and Getting my 86 MS 69 Silver Eagle

I wish I could HEAL already!! Greetings! Well, on Friday during my battle with this nasty virus that has plagued me ( has NOW moved to my head) I recieved my 1986 MS69 Silver Eagle!!
