Happy days are here at last.. Australian mint errors

Mint errors in the mail.. heres that 10c and $1 ! Well, here they are.. The other 3 coins aren't imaged, they are in a mule set holder as seen in my 2nd signature set. 10c has rotated during transit again, indicating the capsule holding it isn't quite exactly the right size for an Aussie 10c. Bit of a shame really All coins will have full images very soon, just see my errors signature set

Fast or Slow? World coins...and curious ones at that....

World coins seem to be quicker than quick! For those of you interested in Australian coins, or bullion collectors, or State Quarter collectors, I'd like to share my images of these with you. With my last batch of coins, I submitted a number of invoices, at various tiers, including Modern, Modern Special, and World Modern. Grading Companies

Stick with NGC and PCGS... But noone is perfect. Have seen a coin from PCGS with "residue" not cross, I'm sure others have. NGC are my favourite, then PCGS. The rest are worth nothing. Have a nice day !

At last! A change in status on my submission

Wonder how long the next change will take... :-) I'm just teasing, NGC. It is pretty obvious that y'all are swamped. I know you don't want to make me wait. If you want, you can make it up to me with a couple of PF70 UCs. My "Skinny Chickens" Have arrived!!!!!

Is it the hunt or the find that keeps us going? We seem to spend alot of time looking for that special coin or bill and then once found the feeling of joy slowly slips away, then we`re on to the next hunt. Coin collecting is the type of hobby that is never ending. As I finish a certain album or book there is always another waiting to take it`s place. Another 2000 Australia $1 Mule set (multi holder)

Invoice 2753105 on its way back to me with... 2000 AUSTRALIA 10C AU 55 2000 AUSTRALIA MULE 10C OBVERSE $1 AU 55 2000 AUSTRALIA $1 XF 45 A nice second set.. PS if you are looking at the pop for the $1 mule it is really around 2000 or more. And the 62 is 63, a typo ? it must happen. This coin is nice but not realistically UNC either.

Quality Control

A term synonymous with agony. My Platinum 10th Anniversary Eagles finally went from Received to Scheduled for Grading and now sit in the hell hole that is Quality Control. This is the worst part of it all. I know that there is next to no chance that they will be pulled for some quality defect so the grade is probably final BUT it remains unknown. I especially hate the part that I couldn't even open up the box to look at them prior to shipping them to NGC. I have asked for NGC to photograph

Opinions About The Grading Companies

Values of one grading company over another I read alot. About coins, grading, and most of all, about dealer's and collector's opinions about the grading companies. I like swishing the different opinions around in my head, It makes for good thought. I have found that, over all, the dealers are to blame for the off balance of opinions towards the grading companies. I have talked to the same dealer at different coin shows, and depending who was around he would lift or put down NGC. I personally b

Killing me too... It's been 7 working days since my submission was received and they haven't moved a bit. I'd just like to see the status change to Scheduled For Grading so that I can see what it was that I submitted. It's been a while, and my memory of them is starting to fade... :-) (Just kidding...) US Mint orders "on hold" ? US Mint slow shipping for some items or ??

Ordered Platinum Rev PF set over a month ago and was expected to ship over a week ago.. card was billed ! then not billed, AUTH ONLY disappeared a day later   Still hasn't come back, the money is in my account??? Getting closer!

Heart rate is up. Well I just checked the grading status and it's moved to Quality Control. I can't believe how much I'm looking forward to getting this first batch of grades. My guesses are 65 and 63 on the two Morgans, VF30-VF40 on the two SLQ's, hoping for a 45-50 on the Barber dime if it doesn't go in a bag. This is like waiting to open the Christmas presents.

Rough grading

Are they or aren't they? Tough that is. I read Johnson1's entry about his 2008 Silver Eagles and how he believes they may be under-graded, at 69 instead of 70. Here's the interesting part: There was a long string of postings in the Message Boards recently about how PCGS coins were "more valuable" than NGC coins because there were those who believed (I am not among them), that NGC just "hands out" 70 graded coins too readily, and that PCGS is the "tougher grader" and therefore that a PCGS

What is the USMINT thinking

Has anyone checked out the USmint upcoming prouducts? Few days ago went to the USmint website to check out their upcoming products and I couldn't believe what there trying to sell this year. It's called " The United States Mint's Celebration Series" focusing on the Chinese New Year. I thought the USMINT only produced products focusing on events of THE UNITED STATES of AMERICA only. Art B made his posting a little while ago about the grades he got for his 2008 Proof Silver Eagles. He also made a couple comments that got me thinking. He first said of the 30 he had, he only submitted 24. Personally, with the potential for "Early Releases" designation, why not send the other six as well? Were they that bad?
