All this photo talk has me re-imaging my Half Eagles

I have about 20% imaged with my newer camera. Since everyone has been talking about taking pictures of coins, I too, got the fire lit to do some of the backlog of re-imaging my older images. I have done my 1840's coins and have only 1855 left of the 1850's that I own left to do in that decade. Also a number of half eagles have been purchased since the new camera was acquired. So anyway, take a look, they have turned out pretty well. Here is a sample of one of the new images.

Even The Older Coinage Droped in Value This Year

I don't consider Morgans old Friends, I spent quite a while studying for a purchase---trade. I have some coins for sale or trade and was offered a 1887 MS-67. Now this is a Morgan Dollar at the best grade under $30,000 that would be a perfect candidate for a trade. The guy called me and said he paid $2,030 for the coin and he was interested in my Carson City's. "Doing a little trial & error"... Greetings, I do think my business will be the thing that suffers the most with this new addiction. All in all I beleive the money lost by my "not working" will be a "wash" due to the massive amount of time spent with my camera & computer will, on the flip side, keep me away from the auctions, that continue to "bleed" me dry. Food for thought for disparaging souls

They won't always be.... Modern coins will not always be modern. Every coin, has at some point, been modern. Time will tell which coins will hold or increase in value. Even in terms of "modern" coins, a few examples out perform others. Auction Results and Back under 100,000 (hopefuly temporary)

Unsurprised but a little disappointed. Well my first consignment experience has come and gone and to tell you the truth, I'm a bit disappointed but unsurprised. I knew that I market was down and I wouldn't fetch top dollar, but I was still hoping. These were inexpensive modern coins I didn't particular love, and had little passion for, I hope they all found good homes. Frankly I'll going to miss the points more then the coins, and with this being true it is better that they left my care. I

The "reverse" of my 1905 "Double Eagle"

Just wish I had cropped these before posting... Hello again,   Just having loads of fun with a few gold coins!   Happy Collecting!!! I've finaly realized that PayPal/Ebay is a financial cartel. I had previously sold/bought coins on Ebay for 5 years. Two months ago I noted "new" guidelines for both PayPal and Ebay regarding sells/buys "protections". Without reason a transaction could be suspended if the PayPal software detected a "potential for fraud". I decided that this was Corporate B/S and canceled my Ebay and PayPal accounts. A Numismatist Who Is Bad At Math?

A strange combination... Greetings! I have always struggled with math. Math has been my Goliath if I am David. I look at numbers and math problems and it all looks jumbled to me. If I have the formula, and can read it while doing an equation, I usually can conquer the problem OK, and using math in the HVAC trade has never been difficult as I can see what the numbers are telling me on a guage (what the air of refrigerant is doing and if I have to make a repair) but to just do

No Special Set Designation

No special NGC "SET" for Lincoln's Bicentennial Set! I was thinking there was a good chance that NGC would support a true "SET" designation for the Lincoln Bicentennial Set and allow owners to send in unopened (government packaging) sets for grading. A Sunshine 100% natural PIC

a shot for Aurum Friends & Members, I don't see any problems with taking an inexpensive shot of my coins. I don't use lights, scanners, flashes, cones, whatever. I just go outside on a sunny Sunday morning while the sun is shooting across my porch deck, place the coins on white paper and shoot. I cover my hands with a white T-shirt to keep the skin tone off the coins. Set your cameras at a low image quality for full shots. HAPPY COIN COLLECTING

WHAT IF......

You contacted a coin dealer about a coin that you purchased from him, and he said... Thursday, I called a dealer about a recently purchased coin. I first had to listen to a computer give me a list of options, as to why I was calling. I fell into the "all other " category. I was then transferred to a human where upon I explained the problem. Picture ideas

Here is an idea for some photos Hi, I understand most of you are trying to take photos of your coins, but some of you just need some new ideas. I take pictures of my coins about four feet under a lamp with a dull yellow glow, which helps a lot on cutting down glare. Here is on of my photos. The only camera I use is a 5.1 megapixel Sony.

Finished State Quarters, kind of........ Hey All, Just wanted to share my joyful occasion. I just added the LAST quarter to my Statehood Quarter set. You could think that I mean the elusive 1999 Silver Delaware, but you would be mistaken. Close, but not quite right! I actually added the 1999 CLAD Delaware. Setting up My Coin Photo Studio

Guess who received shipping coniformation to day on his Lincoln coin and chronicles set , I did Amarillo. I order this on open day at 10:15 Mountian time I can wait to receive this set so i can open and look at this beauitful set, i bet it will shine like a jewel in the sun. FYI.. I was on Ebay checking out the latest,and saw this (the photo) and had to have it,this was in 2006 and the next year the 1st spouse series started, The Certificate that came with the coins said that the White House Historical Association came up with this,The President and the First Ladies Mini-coin Collection. The Franklin Mint under the authority of the White House Historical Association that each set was struck in solid sterling silver, in March 10th 1977. I dont know.. you check out
