Was wondering if anybody ever did a presentation at one of the Big National Shows -- or even the smaller regional ones, assuming they have them there, too. Anybody here ever do one ?

Would this by chance be a lamination error?

I've just begun getting into coin collecting. It wasn't something I really planned on doing, but my mom was downsizing from her house to an apartment and she had a whole bunch of older coins that she collected on her travels for work (Tupperware and then later as a travel agent) and for vacations with my dad or, later, my step-father. (Some of the coins were my step-father's.) My mom also had a few old Canadian silver coins (mainly 50% collector coins), but I decided to sell those for their silver value (along with some of her silver collector spoons). She also let me have some foreign bills, but I don't think those are as cool as the coins. (Two of the bills were $1 CAN

I'm trying to get good shots of some of my coins to share here, but I'm not sure if the results are good enough or just a bit too grainy. I'm using my Razer Kiyo with the Synapse software (default settings), and I've zoomed in as far as I can go without the entire coin being blurred. Since Synapse doesn't allow for taking photos with the app, I just maximized the preview and took a screen shot. The two coins below are a 1970 10 New Pence and a 1950 1 Shilling from the UK. I use Paint.Net for cropping photos, but I didn't apply any filters to the images. I'd really appreciate some thoughts on these photos and advice on how I might get better results. Cheers!

The wife wanted to go to the old bookstore today, so I said sure. She got nada but I found a nice 30th edition for $3.50 I think that is 55 cents over the original price.

Only 2 simple rules for this thread. 1. Must have a face value of 5 cents. OR 2. Made from nickel alloy. We have a silver thread and a copper thread. I thought it was about time to give nickel some love. Post what ya got. Foreign or domestic, old or new, half dimes, 3 cent nickels, Buffs, Jeffs, Libs, etc.

Beyond PCGS Gold Shield beyond CAC beans beyond NGC MAC or PCGS MAC certified coins are the new CACG certified coins that are bringing big premiums due to the company's reputation for very accurately grading coins. Do you think these other companies will design a line of services to match or rival this relative newcomer? Tell me what you think below do they need to counter CACG or should they just stay business as usual?
