For those that wish, this is how it works. To start it off, post a pic of any commemorative half or any coin dated 1936. Let's say next someone post an image of a 1936 Washington quarter. You would now need to post a pic of the same type coin (a Washington quarter) or anything dated 1936. Let's see some cool coins.

New to all of this...found this in a corn field while metal detecting. I realize there is environmental damage from being in the ground potentially 230+ years. Looking for opinions the potential value as well as getting it conditioned and graded. I have only touched it with a toothpick. Thanks in advance for you input! Jim

I heard about this recently: https://www.sportscollectorsdaily.com/collectable-offers-fractionalized-ownership-of-valuable-sports-memorabilia/ The idea of fractional ownership of a baseball card as an investment that you will never hold (and probably have no interest in as a collector). This can't possibly be good for collectables and hobbies. I don't like it for cards. I don't want it for coins. It's a hobby... this seems... joyless.

Hi from the Newbie again. Does anyone know what the acceptable weight variance would be for the 1795 Flowing Hair 50c piece in VF25 (Guess) condition, as compared to a pristine coin (13.48g) ? I'm trying to decide if it is real or not. The diameter is correct, but my scale is inadequate (can only give whole grams) and I'm waiting on a new one to arrive. Thanks

RecentlyI was given this 1929 Lincoln penny as a gift and was wondering how it could get such a level of corrosion because I have seen worn coins but none like it.

Fire away! A few drafts have been in the works, but I want to be sure the final draft answers all the questions out there.

I've been thinking.......we have a "For the love of copper" thread, so why not a "For the love of silver" thread? So, let's give this a try!! Post any coins you want to share, just as long as they're silver. I'll start us off with my only Faustina the Younger provincial, a silver Tetradrachm minted in Alexandria, Egypt: Let's see some great silver!!!
