  1. Nice Morgan JP ! pretty soon you'll have them all and there wont be any left for us LOL. As or the VAM, wouldn't you thin PCGS would have noticed that if so? I don't know if you have to have them check for varieties or if they just do it automatically. I just (haha well not just, Nov 5th) sent in my 1887 Suspected VAM 3 and hoping for a good outcome. They are opening coins deliver on the week of 10-18-21 right now. My coins are 11-9-21 officially even though they actually got it on the 5th. Waiting for a good outcome on the 2021 Morgan CC and the 2021 Peace and the 1998 ASE P Proof too. Nice coins nonetheless.
  2. I’ll say it before someone else does. please flatten your staples!
  3. It doesn’t seem to be on the coin when it was graded.
  4. Just a suggestion, but if you are going to collect the bicentennial coins. Spend a little more, get graded coins or proofs at the least. They are available, not terribly expensive and easy to find. If you buy a graded coin on eBay or anywhere for that matter, certify the number is real for that coin. i bought this Pf69 for just $13
  5. Tridmn with all due respect the gentlemen here are truly professionals and are not being harsh other than to warn you about this huge problem in the coin world. These guys could spot a fake from the top of a ten foot ladder! It is very prevalent , I know this because I and probably most of them have been hit by this truck! We are all encouraging you to be extremely careful when buying coins. We encourage you to truly enjoy collecting.but there is a ton of places to research coins . try to follow these rules: trust no one but verify that they are selling legitimate items as someone on EBay who has sold thousands of coins vs some guy you don’t know. do at the very least a Google search on the coin, read the facts, sizes, weights etc. check the PGCS or NGC price guides or the photo grade app to determine a reasonable purchase. if it’s too good to be true , in the coin world it is. best of luck just be skeptical 🤨
  6. Well it is THANKSgiving! Give thanks it was only $10. A very valuable lesson learned for a very reasonable price.
  7. I like it. May get one for my dimes too. My Mercs are in an old Dansco and it doesn’t show proofs either. Thanks for the hint.

  14. That is a bummer for sure. How disappointing! I think since you have nine others, that you should return it to the mint for a refund, and let them turn it into next years Morgan! Sorry about the poor end result.

  19. I recently saw a photo hereon the forum about the 2013 Mount Rushmore National Park Quarter. I purchased a 2013 S Silver Proof Shown here. My father visited the memorial in 1938 or 1939, left my Mother in the car and I found this negative which I scanned and turned into a positive black and white image. Quite striking images. In 2012 my wife and I visited Mount Rushmore for the second time in our lives. While there, I asked if I could speak to the museum curator. He came out and I showed him the photos. I told him that I would like to donate the photos to the museum as historical artifacts. He told me, while very commendable, and they would certainly love to have them, he continued to tell me that I is nearly impossible to "give" something to the government. He said the process for accession is very difficult and most likely wouldn't be worth the time and effort to do so. He then took is into the archive room warehouse, where all of the artifacts were stored, We got to see the very flag that was used for the dedications made by a local lady. We saw, actual ropes. Rock drills, pneumatic hammers, platforms,, the miniature model from which the monument was caved. Abraham Lincoln was dedicated September 17, 1937 - Dedication of the Lincoln figure. As you can see, wok had not yet been begun on Theodore Roosevelt. It was dedicated on July 2, 1939 - Dedication of the Roosevelt figure. He continued to tell me that the absolute only way my father was able to get these pictures was to have been invited by a crew supervisor or Gutzam Borlum himself. He would have had to ride up in the rope gantry with other workers and be somehow allowed to stand on Washington's head for the picture looking at Abraham Lincoln! That's why this coin bears significance to my family. I was not born until 1947. Thanks for Reading!
