  1. Example same photo used in several lots of nickels (like 1,000 2,000 Buffalo nickels. Most if these are probably junk nickels with no date but selling at ridiculous prices
  2. I see now why you are concerned to many coins that look staged but then many are on the same countertop background and don’t appear to be stock photos . I can’t tell you about the ancients but the 1932-s quarter seems way overpriced to me.
  3. Not defending this person at all but I just searched all their products and only saw two Lincoln cents for US coins. A lot of tokens, Boy Scout memorabilia and nothing that appears to be overpriced or misleading. Please give us an example of what you are referring to. I have never purchased anything from them but I don’t see anything that is of interest anyway. The accusations are serious, eBay takes them seriously. you stated you have reported them to eBay? What was their response?
  4. I’m wondering if I messed up. I submitted four coins all 1998 and 2021, but Also slipped in an 1887 Morgan suspected VAM, I mistakenly entered the modern tier. Is this going to mess things up? thanks
  5. Thank you for saying so! I am a Vietnam era veteran and I never tire of hearing that because when I got out in 1968, we had to travel in civvies and sneak home unnoticeable.
  6. NCS (NGC) conservation services can restore those foggy coins. https://www.ngccoin.com/ncs-conservation/#
  7. LemE, I think so too, I have the entire P,D set. Just got the latest one put in the book about a week ago. They aren’t proofs but all MS. I like the series because it’s historical and interesting designs. There than just heads on a coin, these are fun and inexpensive to collect. They won’t ever amount to much, but I have an extreme dislike for the Pres dollars, so for me to like these, it takes something extraordinary.
  8. Thanks to your fine photo, I used google photo search and found this information. https://www.vcoins.com/en/stores/cerberus_ancient_coins/31/product/roman_coin_of_maximian__concordia_militvm/522347/Default.aspx as to wha it means?.. Mohawk probably knows. Maybe he’ll react here. thanks Bill
  9. Thank you. I knew about the ding in the rim, not sure about cleaning but as old as it is, probably. I’m not submitting them but I have a bunch of British coins now most of the pre-decimalization. Coins but this one has the rather unusual story of the mistaken Roman 1 which they changed to an Arabic 1 the same year and that fascinated me.
  10. I don’t know that you weren’t nude when you found them actually. 😃
  11. There is a real reason that the 2nd decimal may be important. Best reason I’ve seen. Thank you
  12. Yes, I questioned that a little when is was looking for the acceptable tolerances tip for the nickel which is Tolerance on a nickel is +/- .19 grams (Cited from: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1963-d-nickel-weighs-4-8-grams.281584/) I agree oldhoopster, If it’s on the web, isn’t it true? Lol It looks like you got that info from a website. I would be very cautious about using that site for information in the future Edit to add: I suppose the information you posted would be somewhat correct if your scale only had a 1 gram resolution (they said 5 grams, not 5.0 or 5.00). But that type of scale would be useless for numismatics. I would add that the 2nd decimal is not important enough where a hundredth of a gram would make much difference to me, but with my collection one decimal place is fine. Can you give me an example where a hundredth of a gram made a significant difference? according to my calculation, .01 grams of gold would be worth 15 cents, .09 would be $1.35, Just wanting to know. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. Bill
  13. That’s really interesting JP, the nickel was so accurately made at 5g that; All the nickels found in your change will be 5 grams. Because each modern nickel is exactly 5 grams, many people use nickels to calibrate their scales. You can place a nickel on your scale and then take note of the weight.
  14. Ok Quintus I fixed that problem but that created a bigger problem, I can’t figure out when or where I got that one! Doesn’t matter now, my stapling is far superior!
  15. Thanks Quintus. I always squash the staples with a pair of needle nose pliers it makes them smoother than the stapler. Probably blew is, this is not my stapler, mine are straight so I’ll hunt this guy down tonight and fix that promptly. Thank you for the catch! Bill
  16. I believe what you have is a Dexter restrike dollar coin . It is , of course a copy and is not silver but silver plated. These are selling for around $100 but IMHO not worth anywhere near that. sorry https://www.ebay.com/itm/1804-US-Liberty-Dexter-Dollar-Silver-Plated-Coin-/254903615326?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m2548.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
  17. Anyone need av1943 war nickel it’s an extra.
  18. What y’all think of this 1945 p nickel?
  19. LemE could advise best. The general rule of thumb here is if it is worth $150 then worth it. I just am sending in a 2021 Morgan Cc, a 2021 Peace P, an 1887 Morgan potential Vam, a1998 ASE P proof, total cost $171, so in this case well within that window. Hoping for 70son the 2021s but not as flashy as many mintages. Only 175,000 of the CC and Peace were minted so I wanted them graded plus determined with the help of a bunch of guys here, the 1887 Morgan appears to be a VAM variety. So fingers crossed 🤞
  20. I think you are correct. Looks like a scam to me. I actually looked this coin up on PCGS and it states that there are 22 higher, and they state the value at $50
  21. I don’t know that you weren’t nude when you found them actually. 😃
