  1. That is a very nice picture. What did you use?
  2. True definition of a keyboard warrior right here. You, sir, are an . Not just in this thread but in many others. It seems any negative talk about rotten eBay sellers sets off that tiny fuse of yours and causes you to lash out. If the comments don’t pertain to you as an eBay seller specifically, then keep that little, inner bully of yours locked up. But maybe they do affect you in which case, I’ll be sure to steer clear of your eBay listings.
  3. Nobody cares if you like Trump or hate Trump. The only person who cares is you. This is a board dedicated to coin collecting. Keep your political opinions to yourself. Nobody cares.
  4. I watched earlier this morning while drinking my tea. 🤣 Yes, I said tea, my gut can’t handle coffee anymore. Back on subject, it was a very easy, and enjoyable watch. Thanks for posting.
  5. I’m not a veteran yet, close though, just a few more years. I can’t imagine the pain you Vietnam era vets had to go through. My uncle is a retired Marine Master Gunnery Sergeant who did a few tours in Vietnam. His coming home stories are enough to make my blood boil. So, thank you for your service. It is very disheartening but it’s their right to kneel if they choose to do so. I and any others here who currently serve or have served will defend that right.
  6. Thanks for suggestion. I took a look and $46/year isn’t a bad deal at all. I was going to go with Premium membership on NGC for the four free submissions. The NGC benefit received from an ANA membership is on par with the NGC Associate level? Or does it just grant direct submission privileges?
  7. @rrantique I can’t like those Morgans enough. I know the picture is enhanced to bring out the colors more, but those are gorgeous.
  8. Why would there not be a grade for the cents in the holder?
  9. I’m sure that would make the graders day and give him a good laugh.
  10. @Alex in PA. Thanks. 👍🏼 That’s good to know. I’d like to keep them in their original sets.
  11. It’s the super rare 1905 Morgan silver dollar. Only one of its kind. How cool is that. 😎
  12. @Mr.Bill347Thanks for the link. I assume I would need to break them out of the holders they are in? I guess it’s time to pay for an NGC membership. What causes the hazing? If it’s humidity, why would it affect just a few coins from different holders?
  13. I have been collecting proof and silver proof set for a few years now. I pulled them out and was looking at them the other night and noticed that a haze had developed on some of the silver proofs. They are all still in the original mint packaging. I store them in my safe at home. What could be causing the haze? Humidity? If it was humidity, wouldn’t it affect all the coins? At any rate, I threw some silica packets in just to be sure. Edit: is there a way to remove the haze through TPG conservation?
  14. I’m late to the punch on this one, but to me toning adds an individuality and uniqueness to a coin that would otherwise look like every other coin out there. I like the various flavors of toning from the full rainbow of colors to golden rim toning to the crazy patterns of “end roll” toning. Halo, crescent, splotchy, I like them all. Toning speaks to how the coin has spent a majority of its life, telling the individual story of that particular coin and it’s journey from point “A” to point “B”. The only thing I don’t like on toned coins are the fingerprints. I don’t want to think that someone else in the past has fondled my coin. 😆
  15. @powermad5000 Thank you for your insight. I suspect that eventually I might grow tired of searching for Morgans to fill my set and will take a break for something else, but I’m quite sure after taking a small hiatus I will return with a renewed vigor. There’s just something about the story and history of the Morgan that has intrigued me. I have started a journal and will document my successes and failures for my boys and hopefully my grandkids for when they get to take over the collection. My youngest, he’s 12, has taken an interest, so hopefully I can inspire him to continue the collection and continue in the hobby once I am unable to. I know. It’s crazy ridiculous the prices they are paying. Sometimes 3x’s what the price guide shows. I was watching an eBay auction for an MS65 with a very nice rainbow tone on the obverse with a golden crescent tone on the reverse but it had a very weak strike. Price guide put the coin at $250. It sold for just over $800. That one definitely made me scratch my head.
