  1. 1883 V Nickle "no cents" opinion on quality and potential grade. Bought this from a dealer. Dealer states he never cleans coins, however he doesn't know provenance. Gash on obverse bottom left edge
  2. I received this coin in some cash register change today. Very unusual finish. Dark colored grey/brown, somewhat pitted surface, no evidence of layering on edge like most clad coins. Wondering about incorrect planchette, or experimental finish treatment as there seems to be no nickel plating. Just inquiring mind not being at it too long. Picture compares finish to conventional clad quarter and the edge.
  3. Have a 1906 25th anniversary MEDAL (with ribbon holder) that i am unable to identify. 1906 25th anniversary of Auguste Victoria and Kaiser Wilhelm II Haven't been able to really ID it yet. Came from my Grandmother who immigrated from Germany about 1906 so think it is real. Can You help me verify?
  4. This coin was purchased from a Facebook post. Coin arrived from China (hint). looked incredible. Being a newbie, I didn't know to weigh it before submitting to NGC. My BAD!. Coin weight is 25 grams or .9 oz Th original should weigh 26.73 grams or.7735 oz. The coin measured 37mm and should be 38.1mm. These guys are crafty so again if it looks too good to be true It probably is! Only buy from certified dealer or only buy certified coins. Lesson learned. Thank You NGC.. I encapsulated it myself just for the LESSON LEARNED
  5. I too fell victim to AliExpress. The coin looked so good I had it grade by NGC, however it came back as NOT GENIUINE look at the picture ~ even the weight was close. Wont EVER make THAT mistake again. MrBill347
