  1. Do you mean like this one on EBay? It is interesting though, I looked through thousands of token images and couldn’t find anything similar. Is it the same on both sides? They used them in the civil war, prisons, cigar stores, arcades, normally som3 kind of ID. Not on this one. I found this “ quote on a very similar token” ” Pickers Tokens / Checks have been in use since the civil war era of the 1860's. They came into use on farms and orchards because many of the farm workers did not speak English and/or could not do math. As a worker would pick the crop, they would turn in the pint, quart, peck, bushel, bag, etc of produce and receive a token of some value. At the end of the day, the worker would exchange the tokens for cash. Many times, the token will have ie: 1 P or 1 QT or 1 B. This equates to 1 pint / 1 peck or 1 quart or 1 bushel / 1 bag. Others will simply have a number without the unit of measure. Tokens with a number only were normally used on farms that had only one product such as a strawberry farm or a tomato farm. A few farms had the farm name on the token while others had the initials of the farm or owners on the tokens, but most had nothing identifying the farm where they were used.

  3. They need to somehow simplify their submission forms. It’s like tax forms. They make the determination anyway. Seems like it’s just a way to inflate grading prices. I know my comment may not be popular and I can only guess how difficult a job this must be. Example walk through, standard, premium, economy etc. and you have to guess on the quality and estimated amount. Nonetheless, I trust NGC to make the right call.
  4. Sorry but don’t fret too much. Having a p69 w privy eagle is great and worth way more than you paid for it. I took a load of Eagle Proofs to a dealer and he told me 90% of proof coins don’t make p70. If you don’t want it, I’ll buy it off of you for $70.
  5. Just to add. That really was the coin I sent in. The label actually had the correct date it does state 1895, but no matter it’s fake anyway. It was a beautiful coin. Weight and diameter was off. Here is the way I got it back from NGC
  6. Thank u. Just pointing it out because I was had by a scam Morgan sent it in to NGC and they determined it was phony. I slabbed it myself in a spare slab to remind myself to be more cautious. Thank u for your comments.
  7. No sir, I slabbed it in a generic slab. I sent the coin by itself to grading and they determined it was counterfeit. So the photo is for my bad experience only.. A reminder to me to verify the seller and weigh and measure any coin.
  8. Facebook ad 2/7/21 right! All years Morgan Silver dollars! Don’t be fooled! China is cranking them out now that silver is up! $180 haraharjar!
  9. condition seems to be good, lot of marks but it is prewar and 86 years old and not finding many 1934 coins that look decent. a 1933 example on ebay is selling for $80. Again, based on condition, is this worth grading?
  10. I have been unable to find any representation of this medal on google images, or ebay or NGC. Reverse translates to " to commemorate the celebration of the silver wedding 1881-1906" medal appears to be bronze in excellent condition but I have no idea if I should get it graded by NGC or not. Grandmother immigrated from Germany in 1906. Although this medal was a common commemortive, if it is so common, why can't I find one anywhere? One similar on EBAY but different reverse and Auguste Victoria has a crown on the EBAY coin (last Picture) seller asking $50 but nowhere as nice.

  12. It’s already graded so you know it real relabeling it probably wouldn’t change the value much would it?
  13. seems to be MS/BU is this common? Appears the same as a 2020.
  14. possible 1969 d Double D maybe double date?
  15. Not intending to grade it, Just have some empty slab holders Ill put it in. Thank You
  16. Thanks everyone ! i'll slab it and keep it along with my 1908 with "cents" LOL It Makes sense that the coins with "no cents" are worth less than those with "CENTS"
  17. 1883 V Nickle "no cents" opinion on quality and potential grade. Bought this from a dealer. Dealer states he never cleans coins, however he doesn't know provenance. Gash on obverse bottom left edge
