Mr.Bill347 replied to Mr.Bill347's topic in US, World, and Ancient Coins
This is the coin, not the brassy one shown. The brassy one did have two of the symbols left and right. The weight is .1 oz, 23MM X 1,1MM -

A couple of Jefferson Nickel questions.
Mr.Bill347 replied to Mr.Bill347's topic in Newbie Coin Collecting Questions
Hey guys, I’m revisiting a previous post of mine regarding a 1943 P Jefferson Nickel. I had noticed a funny hook on the three and one poster thought there might be some doubling on the eye. After reading the following article, I wonder if this could be a 3 over 2 with the entire date rest stamped. -
No! Cameos are mirror finish on flat areas, besides there is a fingerprint on it. sorry

POSSIBLE LAMINATION ISSUE 2020 D QUARTER
Mr.Bill347 replied to LOCK34's topic in Newbie Coin Collecting Questions
Cool, I guess they put that there in lieu of a nice W privy mark! Kidding aside I just bought a 100 coin Denver mint bag of Tallgrass prairie and another roll of 40 p Marsh Billings and not a single privy mark, so now me and a million other people are stuck with all these BU MS coins that you can’t sell. Hundreds on eBay. So I was disgusted and bought a W proof cameo Tallgrass just to quell my disgust. If you know anybody that wants new BU MS quarters, send em my way. Lol 😝 -

Now that I look at the latest Pictures, I do not notice any doubling here. Sorry

A nice find in today’s Nickel hunt
Mr.Bill347 replied to Chickenswoup's topic in Newbie Coin Collecting Questions
Nice coin, but up you got ripped man, it’s only a nickel! Lol 😆 I got a couple of Canadian quarters in my last batch from the bank. I asked for hand rolled quarters, nickels, dimes, pennies not federal reserve mint rolls. Got quite lucky, found a very good number of nice coins. And I get to take the rest back to the bank and get more, repeat. Fun! -
I like the Whitman’s nation park quarters book. Pictures below. I’m sorry I know you said Stare Quarters but in my mind I was thinking ATB quarters. I prefer the Warmans book for the State quarters too. Very sorry.

Man I don't see any reflecting going on, but I do see double letter on my 24" monitor

Ok really? I’m confused the Liberty and In God reminds me of one of those 1960’s TENSION signs. If this isn’t doubling what is? Maybe just shaky photographer.

1905 Indian Head clipped coin or PMD
Mr.Bill347 replied to Mr.Bill347's topic in Newbie Coin Collecting Questions
So if it is, in fact a legitimate clipped coin, given it’s shown condition from the pictures, what should I do with it? Would it warrant grading. I sort of doubt it based on its face, but despite that, it does have rather fine details. TIA -

Mr.Bill347 replied to Mr.Bill347's topic in Newbie Coin Collecting Questions
Wow, what are the odds of finding a 116 year old coin that was clipped and nobody caught it? How is that even plausible? -

Proof ASE's possible grades ?
Mr.Bill347 replied to LDH Coins & Memorabilia's topic in Newbie Coin Collecting Questions
I had the same question. The answer I found was this: Graded Moderns Today’s bullion coins are struck incredibly sharp from much more sophisticated minting presses. The coins are immediately placed in plastic and bought in large quantities by dealers. Many of these coins are then shipped directly to the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) and the Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) to be graded. Since the strikes are so precise and these coins have never been touched by human hands—let alone been circulated—many of them grade in excellent condition: MS70 or at least MS69. The same is true with proof coins. They often grade PR70 or PR69. NGC has special instructions for grading 2021 ASE proof coins. You must ship the coins, in the sealed original mint packaging and hope! https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/8804/2021-w-proof-silver-eagles/ I was very fortunate to have just received a 2021 West Point mint ASE! Which I bought in the first few minutes of the sale which sold out in 8 minutes! of course, I can’t look at it, so I am sending and hoping. Either way a PR69 or PR70 will really appreciate due to the very limited minting of these last 2021 ASE coins. I have seen them graded PR70 for $700 already. -
I am only supposing here, but if you have a number of NGC graded coins, would it be acceptable to display them in a wall cabinet made for slabs, or just leave them in an NGC plastic box?
