JP this is not only a game, but it is totally a rigged pre-planned rip off by the big dealers! -
Congratulations We BROKE the mint!
Mr.Bill347 replied to Mr.Bill347's topic in Newbie Coin Collecting Questions
Not only am I totally PO’d about this latest UsMint scandal, but the greed I am seeing from “Dealers” selling confirmed pre-order purchases on FeeBay for what looks like $249, according to items sold today! There are hundreds and hundreds of these already listed on FeeBay. The picture are ones sold today already. The greed is like hoarding toilet paper and then selling it to the highest bidder. I am so irritated and discouraged, it want me to dislike numismatics! I won’t buy anything from the USMint again. I can get ripped off at a lesser level almost anywhere. truly disappointed, but I did expect the explosive nature of this stupid release and the artificial shortage that the mint created for their own greed. If they could make millions of these, why don’t they. Obviously they could sell them. -

1831 Capped Bust Half Dime Grade Evaluation
Mr.Bill347 replied to Applejack's topic in Newbie Coin Collecting Questions
I would think these WOULD merit grading. The rule of thumb is if it is not worth $150 it probably not worth it. But, since it was your Grandpa's it might bear significance, My grandfather gave me an old Morgan one time. I spent it. Think about it. 1831 H10C Capped Bust Half Dime XF-40 PCGS, Nice Original Type Coin! _ eBay -
Anyone else pumped for the 2021 Peace Dollar?
Mr.Bill347 replied to UrbanDecay4's topic in US, World, and Ancient Coins
Yea! i AM. I have a 1921 Morgan and a 1922 Peace Dollar so I have to jump on it. Again, smart move by the US MINT in creating demand by limiting quantities. I'm betting it doesn't make it past 5 minutes! I gonna give it a try though. Folks are pre-selling them (Big Dealers) for $125. so I'll be in that Line. One thing that really annoys me is that they don't limit purchase quantity, just total quantity limit. That lets the big money big dealers grab em all up at once. When I see people like the HSN coin guy buying skids of silver coins, it really bugs me and makes me NOT want to participate in that. Good luck to you!' -
It's Token Tuesday! Post 'em if you got 'em.
Mr.Bill347 replied to Just Bob's topic in US, World, and Ancient Coins
I didn't really realize how many tokens I had. Some new some old, some just dumb copies. But here you go. -
My guess is pickers tags. They were awarded for picking goals in fields. Like a bushel of beans equals 1 pickers coin, which could be used to buy food. They were drilled to allow stringing around ones neck. In the early 20th century, produce growers often kept track of workers' production by giving them “pickers tokens,” with each token representing a certain amount of produce picked. Typical of these were strawberry pickers tokens, writes Jeff Starck in the “Tokens to Collect” column in the Nov. 26 issue of Coin World.Nov 9, 2018 just MHO but look for pickers tokens or Pickers check tokens. Some can be of value. https://www.worthpoint.com/dictionary/p/coins-currency/paper-scrip/pickers-checks That’s the best I can do.

I bought my first coin microscope/camera!
Mr.Bill347 replied to UrbanDecay4's topic in US, World, and Ancient Coins
The other problem with this type of scope besides the light, mine has a roller switch for the light. The distance from the object is to close. I found this nifty little stand that the scope fits into. Really allows you the distance you need to get a broader image. On Amazon for $21.95 -
