  1. Received the coin today. Seems like very good details and does not appear to be cleaned. I'm ok with it for $27
  2. A pgcs 1969 D penny in ms66, which this coin certainly is not, sold for $500. MISSING V.D.B. HANG ON TO THIS ONE, 1969 D Pennies Missing Designer Initials The initials of coin designers have been included in the obverse or the reverse of the United States coins since they have been minted. Most of the initials are so small and almost unnoticeable. But there have been debates about pennies being seen in circulation that are ‘lacking’ the initials of the designer. One of them is the 1969 D penny, which usually has the FG initials on the reverse. Is it an error penny? There were different opinions about it. Some say during the process of polishing, those coins were polished strenuously that the designer initials disappeared. Others believe they were caused by die abrasion or a grease blockage over the FG initials. Regardless of what caused the absence of designer initials, these coins are being sold for cash. In 2012, a 1969 D penny missing the reverse designer initials actually brought $240 at a coin auction.
  3. Is there supposed to be a VDB it was designed by Charles Barber. There is supposed to be. “b” somewhere on or around the eagles tail on the reverse No mint Mark means it was a Philly. Oin
  4. 1909 Barber Half I think it was a bargain from what I’ve seen for $27.
  5. We moved to our current town in 1986, the day we moved out if our old home, the Challenger disaster occurred. January 26, 1986 I think. But I may be off a day or two.
  6. I think I got a great deal on this baby for $27. Barber Half 1909 what do you guys think?
  7. It reminded me that I bought another unusual coin about a month ago for $10 also. I guess I just like coins!
  8. I had just discovered a two page Chicago Tribune Ad from 1949 in a bunch of old collectible papers etc. and since I had that, I was attracted to this thing. There’s a bunch on eBay selling for less, but alas, my collector genus kicked in. It is interesting historic and I was two years old at the time.
  9. Kinda like this old post I found on the forum.
  10. I did the alert thing and that’s how I landed the 2021W ASE. As soon as I got the text, I remember I was waiting at the dentist for my wifeys teeth cleaning on Feb. 11. Had the mint app on my phone and got it in the first five minutes. Little did I know it would sell out soon thereafter. This shouldn’t be the problem with the Type 2. I’m sure they are stocking silver planchette up the wazoo right now. Nonetheless, I’ll be in that line at the door.
  11. In all fairness to this guy, the ad does state available 30 days after the release in August. But it’s obvious the USMint and TPGs favor these guys because they make a ton of money off of them.
  12. Rare collectibles TV just shot out a Facebook ad for the 2021 Proof Type 2 Silver Eagle. for $395! So wrong since the rest of us can’t get it until July. These big dealers have got us by the shorties! I’m not a fan of this guy anymore than the other guy on HSN. Rip off artists who are allowed to buy tens of thousands of coins before we can.
  13. Thanks JP, I have the Whitman folders, but at the end of the regular quarters, there are about ten slots. That’s where they’ll go as they move into the new quarter design in 2022
  14. Any chance you would part with one. I want to own something with a current image of Queen Elizabeth. send me a message if you do. TIA
  15. Beautiful coins there. I think it would be well worth it to get some graded but may be too pricey for all of them. However the very limited mintage does add to the equation. I just saw my 2021 W PR70 on rare collectibles tv for $379 plus shipping and tax. I spent 110.00 getting two graded. So definitely worth it.
  16. I got mine this week. Beautiful coins, but I can’t figure out which book to, put them in. The Natl park series book had just enough room for five territories ie: the bat quarter etc. guess I’ll just add it at the end of the regular quarters. glad to own it though P and D
  17. Pictures would make it nice. I just lucked out with a 2021 W proof DCam and NGC stated to mark Modern tier in original mint packaging. Got it graded PF70 ultra cameo. Original box and coa came about 3 weeks after the grading 4 weeks. There are some date rules to comply with on these too. https://www.ngccoin.com/news/article/2431/World-Early-Releases-Cutoff-Dates/#australia I got my ASE on March 11, I immediately sent it to NGC the next day priority two day. They got it on the 13th but it didn’t show up,in submissions until the 30th with a received date of 3/27/21! I had the tracking printout, but they still didn’t award me early release because it didn’t “arrive” by their 3-15-21 deadline. I contacted NGC customer service with the proof in hand and they told me it would get early release. It didn’t. That’s ok though I got the West Point star label. In only 344,000 were minted, so I’ll shut up now. Good luck.
  18. A perfect example I bought a 1947 quarter graded MS 66 and according to NGC there were only 815 graded higher by NGC. I paid 27.95 including shipping.
  19. Except when quarters are one your focal points, any quarter makes it into the collection. Quarters are not an investment unless they are prior to 1964. Despite the lack of value due to cladding, they are quite beautiful coins and as one said. No coin is an ugly coin.
  20. Washington crosses the Delaware quarter fro US mint : One General George Washington Crossing the Delaware Quarterfeaturing an obverse (heads) design that marks a return to the familiar depiction of George Washington by John Flanagan as it appeared on the quarter from 1932 to 1998. The image was modified for the 50 State Quarters, the DC and U.S. Territories Quarter, and the America the Beautiful Quarters Programs. In this revived depiction, Washington’s portrait is larger, and with higher relief. Inscriptions are “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “2021.” The reverse (tails) design features General George Washington commanding his troops through the overnight crossing of the ice-choked Delaware River prior to the Battle of Trenton during the American Revolutionary War. Inscriptions are "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "CROSSING THE DELAWARE," and "QUARTER DOLLAR.” apparently only in 2021 proof sets. I got two on eBay for $1.95 free shipping
  21. It looks pretty good to me. Probably worth grading if you got a deal on it.
  22. Agree the coin should be worth $150 to make it worthwhile with the cost of grading. I bought this one for $79 which was a little high IMHO, nice coin but if I had one, I don’t believe it would’ve been worth the cost of grading. I just sent in two AS eagles one was the very limited edition W proof ultra cam. Both coins cost $110 but the W is worth nearly $400 now. Good luck.
  23. Thanks NGC, I had the same question and sent communication to customer service about it. Now that I know that it takes a while longer, I feel better, especially knowing I received my coins just fine.
