  1. I now have Two British Royal Mint Coins, the 2021 Britannia 2 Pound coin and the 2021 Five pound coin. Probably all the new ones I'll get. Until a new king is Coronated.
  2. Yea, it sure looks like it, but it is just dirt on the coin.
  3. A 2021 95th Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth BU An 1893 Columbian Exposition, Chicago Half Dollar] a 1998 P ASE Proof an 1887 P Morgan Dollar BU Been quite a week (over last 7 days)
  4. No she bought it cuz she liked it and doesn’t want to part with it anyway. she would not have paid more than $50 for the coin. Oops maybe I should have said bullion! No I and many others collect the beauty of the objects and the fun of collecting. If I wanted to stack silver for profit, I would buy Silver bars. BTW I have two one oz silver bars I’ll sell you for $25 😆
  5. Agree JP, as Jim Z said it’s sort of a shame that these coins are not considered collectibles but they really are. Why can’t they put a date on them? Is there a rule preventing that. my sis’s coin the Standing Liberty design was made by intaglio mint. I’ve see many with dates so wonder why this one dies not have one. They sell for about $100. She does have an ASE but it has some browning beginning to happen .
  6. Cool I got a 1998 P proof ASE the other day for $45 and thought I did just fine . Haven’t see a P proof . I also spent about six hours going through my niece and great nephews coins. Lots of world coins and looked up values. France, Britain, Germany, Panama, Chile, Austria, Caribbean, Holland, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, a couple of 1922 and 1923 peace dollars and my personal find was an 1893 Columbian exposition half dollar that I get to keep for my efforts! Would like to have them all as the 26 year old really doesn’t want them. Well maybe later I’ll buy them from him. Some are quite worthy, in particular two Panamanian Balboas. but happy to go home with this too!
  7. Here’s a cool find, an 1893 Columbian exposition half dollar coin from several hundred coins from all over the world. Germany,Austria,Panama, Chile, France, Britain, Caribbean, Morocco all very interesting plus a 1922 and 1923 peace dollar. I get to keep the Columbian exposition coin for my efforts.
  8. Belongs to my sister, two Troy ounce silver no date no mm ? worth melt weight or more
  9. I really kind of doubt it after grading millions of coins. Is it possible you hadn’t noticed it. Do you have a photo of it before sending it in? maybe if you do you can ask them to read-do it with conservation.
  10. JP yes the 15 I need can be pricey The 1916s is about $40 in XF the 1909S VDB is ridiculous and the 1914d I may get for a hundred bucks or so. Need mostly 1911 1912 1913 Now.
  11. You found it. It is the one with the Declaration of Independence on it to Celebrate the 4th of July, LOL
  12. My finds today. 1922 D and 1926 S wheat cents and a 1868 Three cent Nickel. Just 15 cents left to find for my complete penny collection from 1909-2021, but oh those 15 cents are gonna cost me. :0)
  13. Nice going Hoghead! I think 65 is excellent for this guy! My 1887/6 only got a vf35 but did get Vam-2 Top 100
  14. I have been looking at Seated L’s, but there is junk mostly out there. You were very lucky to find this beautiful 65 out there, do you mind telling us, in general what it cost you? Like $$, $$$, $$$$ thanks
  15. I wonder how many would be graded if the major coin sharks out there weren’t submitting. I hear the coin guy talking of buying skids on monster boxes. They bulk grade them all, and the 10% that come back less than 70 they sell and still make a killing. Of course, if that happened, the TPGs would go broke. There needs to be an average Joe grading tier, but, alas, wouldn’t everybody claim that? 😂
  16. You may have overlooked one of the standard fees, like tier, shipping, conservation, labeling, etc. there are, frankly wayyy to many check boxes on the form. A 1040 is easier to fill out. 😀
  17. Ok Quintus, I get your point and your effort to prevent the pain people cause themselves when submitting face value coins for grading and then finding out it wasn’t worth it. I suspect most numismatist individuals have experienced this a few times. I got burned by a counterfeit Morgan and that in and of itself taught me a valuable lesson. Here’s the thing though. We should not be too critical of someone’s idea of value in that “to each his own”. I understand your point Quintus and value your opinions. Always succinct and brutally honest. I encourage anyone to submit coins for those opinions. That’s how one learns. If you do, please submit photos of both sides of the coin and please Ask a question. Pictures with no question and questions with no pictures are of little value to anyone. QA, sorry if I offended you in previous posts
  18. Well Quintus, you’ve done it again with your not so subtle world wrecking not to be heard by us average Joes trying to believe in the hobby/sport/passtime Trying to convince ourselves that our hard earned money was well spent. I’m quite sure you don’t feel that way about your chickens ! give the rest of us a break and try not to be so darned vindictive to those wanting and enjoying their pursuit of happiness 😊 peace, out…..
  19. I think he must have meant ungraded. I hope!
