  1. I bought two British 1887 Victoria double Florins. The larger one has a known error a Roman “1” the second smaller one has the corrected Arabic “1” . Why are they different sizes? Is the smaller one not actually a double Florin as sold and advertised? the larger one is 35mm the smaller one is 28mm the larger one weighs 23 g the smaller one 11 g thanks in advance. Bill
  2. Could not be more pleased. It is as near Perfect as I could imagine. 🙌 woohoo!
  3. Got this WCD quarter in change today. The reverse seems to have been colorized to look like a golden dollar. Well it’s 1/4 of the way there! Lol 😆
  4. Morpheus that is Exactly what happened. Is this from the voice of experience? My CC was hacked in October and I received a new one and immediately updated my account on the USMint account. I did call customer service as if I was placing an order, 40 minutes of snappy guitar music on hold, then a rep answered. He had me enter my correct number on a secure line, then said the order would now process after 1-2 business days. Thank you for the heads up, I might not have been able to get my coin had you not spoken up. I thank you Morpheus! Bill
  5. problem resolved by Customer Service, After receiving a confirmed order for a 2021 Peace Dolllar, today I get this email. Grrr Not only did they purposely withhold production, make ordering ridiculously impossible and even if you have a confirmed order, they can’t deliver. I’m done with them! Calling them dies nothing, you get a recording about using the web page to check order status then a busy signal.
  6. I’m sorry I wouldn’t let it go., not that big of a deal. I already had an NGC MS63, actually everyone is right, there are a lot of circulation marks, low luster, digs, etc. that’s why they do what they do and are darned good at it. let’s all move on. On another topic I’m close to a closing a good price on an 1887 Queen Victoria jubilee double Florin with a Roman “1”. Keep your fingers crossed for me, Thanks everyone, if you want to see one, look this one up on EBay, currently at $29 Bill
  7. Different lighting and angle can I get an MS out of anyone?
  8. Hell the guys here wouldn’t give me an MS anything for mine.
  9. Hello i am nearing the point where I need to submit four or five coins to NGC for grading. Would it be worthwhile to upgrade to Elite level to take advantage of the $150 credit? Dies the credit appear quickly after upgrading to Elite? Are there restrictions on the use of the credit. seems like a good way to save a little when submitting multiple coins.
  10. Deiter, welcome to the forum you have a very valid question. There are many inherent risks associated with buying coins online fro EBay or a lot of other sites. Sometimes you just have to trust the sellers description, If , the seller has a larger number of sales and a high number of positives and allows returns, then you are pretty safe. I don’t buy a lot of pricey stuff but I have purchased quite a number of excellent coins on EBay and you can mark favored sellers that you have been lucky with. There are no guarantees in life, as you know, and I’ve had to return a few along the way. One coin lately was a 1921 S Morgan showed nice pictures, obviously shot in the best angles as to minimize damage. The coin had a big fat fingerprint on the obverse. I returned thus one for a refund no questions asked. I don’t think I would ever be tempted to buy an expensive version of a Morgan in this manner. I have purchased many graded coins as well and as long as the cert number checks out and the price is in range with the NGC price guide, it is safe to buy, again from an experienced reputable dealer. Yes, I’ve made mistakes but we all do. Stay away from Etsy and Never Ever buy a coin on Faceplant. GC, Heritage, and Modern Coin mart are good 👍 sorry for the long post and again welcome!
  11. And Lincoln looks like something out of a plastic injection mold
  12. Not at all Mike I was going to look for the half penny today in m Brit’s. That latter Churchill coin looks like he ran into a wall.
  13. I agree won’t buy those. But I did buy this one. Wasn’t nearly as bad! Lol 😆
  14. Well I began with a 2021 Brittania, the sort of started focusing on historical events, like the 1953 QEII coronation, the death of Winston Churchill 1965, the engagement of Charles and Diana, the coronation of George Vi 1937, coronation of George V and coronation of Victoria. Last week I bought a set of 5 penny’s one from each of the last 5 monarchs. Now I am trying to get an 1887 silver 2 Florin. Mistakenly seen as a one Florin or two shilling coin, but have found out that in addition to having only 483,000 minted, there was a problem with the “1” with some being Roman then changing to Arabic somewhere that year making any Roman 1 a little more scarce. Because of decimalization in 1971, it’s harder to figure out what these old coins are worth, but most large coins were silver until 1971. Not sure what I will do next. Hmm 🤔 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_florin
  15. You are correct VkurtB, it is not a US mint coin but a commemorative by the National Historical mint. Not to be confused with the National Hysterical mint National Historical Mint Constitution Commemorative Set of 6 Double Eagle Coins with box. The coins are .999 Silver and 24 Karat gold paint. Also has Certificate of Authenticity. The company is no longer in business. supposed to be .999 silver. Probably .999 silver paint. I only paid $6.95 for it anyway and I thought it fit into the theme anyway.
  16. It was the second Medal on the 1987 Constitution set 2pc lot 1987 US Constitution Silver Dollar Commemorative Proof Coin w/ Box & COA
  17. I’m up to 24 nice British coins now and still growing.
