  1. Interesting JP, I’ll check some of mine.which mint?
  2. It looks like someone put acid on it and removed the very thin copper coating . Just post mint damage PMD
  3. James, according to numismatic news, your hopes aren’t dashed. Thankfully it is as we anticipated.
  4. The 1983 spitting eagle was actually a die clash, where the reverse die showed through to the beak of the eagle causing the eagle to appear to be spitting. I found this reverse overlay picture to better define the clash.
  5. Yes I noticed. But since I already had the 2021 Morgan and the Real 2021 Brittania, I passed on it because it’s made from cupronickel. Lol 😆
  6. James I are hope not! I bought one of the CC privy coins. To me it would be a big let down to see the mint building on this historic coin.
  7. That’s what paid today plus tax and shipping. 36.89 total like 7.49 shipping.
  8. I love the St Gaudens design and saw this silver round at a great price (23.87) plus tax and shipping. I don’t have this so now I do. I know it’s not legal tender but is is made in a US mint and it is 1oz. .999 silver besides it is a beautiful coin. www.moneymetalsexchange Bll
  9. Thanks Mohawk as you know, I’m in wayyy over my head on this thing. 🤯
  10. Thanks JP. I think I’m going to save up and get this one because it is Caesar Tiberius Augustus who was emperor at the time of the crucifiction. That would be cool to have.
  11. Raegan you really finding some neat stuff. It is a VLDS (very late die state) coin. The devices show the outside edge of the devices the heavy die flow. The die wear makes the devices look larger because they are taller. Note how the devices are toward the rim. Just the die showing its age and nearness to retirement.
  12. Jason I received my 1994 POW commemorative today. It’s a lovely coin, but I may have to eat my “burnished coin” comment!
  13. Mohawk or anyone, is either of these a good deal? I would like to own a coin from the time of Christ.
  14. Neo, there are a LOT of real knowledgeable people on these chat boards, JKK, Mohawk, VkurtB, Quintus Arrius, JP Mashoke, Hoghead, Jason, John Zyskowksi to name a few. The guys really know their xxIT! if they don’t have answers it ain’t been asked yet! Welcome to the forum! Good luck, the only thing I might suggest, is try to figure out what you like best. If it’s pennies fine, but try to narrow your focus at first, don’t be like me a get a little of everything and a whole lot of nothing!
  15. Ok guys these Burnished (ruined) coins are out of my price ballpark.
  16. Here is your big chance to make some money off those WCD quarters. FeeBay,
  17. Very interesting. The circular fashion of the grinding suggests it wasn’t done by hand. I have read where there were big quality control issues at the P mint on this coin.
  18. There is only a coin shortage of the ones people want! I didn’t even know about this one until I looked at David Ryder on Linked-in. post said it sold out immediately on Saturday 9-11 5 oz Silver. I might have jumped at that one! and in the same post this coin from the Royal Mint. How are they gonna slab this one?
  19. Just the same it is my opinion that the WCD quarter will be a one year design. The last NPQ the Tuskeegee Airmen is rather hard to find. I’m keeping mine rolled up !
