  1. Great purchase ! You gotta be getting close on this WWII NICKELS. thus one is especially nice šŸ‘
  2. I donā€™t know if this company is legit or not, but they have 2021 type 2 ASE for $32.99! https://www.universalcoin.com/2021-1-silver-american-eagle-type-2
  3. Isnā€™t it something! I should be getting my $85 coin soon (hopefully) and right behind it, the Peace dollar. I hate the way the USMint has gone to pre-ordering. It just creates unrealistic product demand. I just happened to notice that you are from Lock Haven. I may be one of the few that actually knows Lockhaven! I used to work for a company out of Raleigh that administered the computer system at Lock Haven hospital. Been there more than a few times. The admistrator was quite an ogre back then. Another friend I have locally grew up in Lock Haven. what was the long standing wool factory there I used to visit. Wool rich If I recall.
  4. James, I have determined that you have to completely log off from the main screen using ā€œsign outā€ then log back in, then your free to chat. Some new protocol I guess. Seems to work fine for me. Jim, I am unable to return it since I bought it from a neighborhood antique shop. Itā€™s not that big of deal and frankly, not all that bad. Compare the new one on the left and the NGC MS63 on the right.
  5. Welcome to the forum ldhall. Thatā€™s a tough lesson. One that I have learned quite a few times, even yesterday when I bought what I thought was an MS coin, and after posting here, my friends pointed out that it was a low AU, which I overpaid for. I even have bought a Morgan which I sent in for grading two years ago and it came back NOT Genuine, a counterfeit!. So I feel your pain. Buying coins from a common source or entity carry these risks. You can prevent these costly mistakes by purchasing from a reputable, ANA dealer, or already graded coins. The fact that they were cleaned, at least they were graded at AU, which is a plus. Because at the very least, you know they are genuine coins. As I stated yesterday, we learn from our mistakes. Sometimes it is very tough to determine, but I can tell you that you can trust the guys on this forum and impossible check with a quick posting to see what they say. To further demonstrate my point are the two 1921 Morgan coins . One an NGC graded MS63, the other I bought yesterday and the professionals here felt that it wasnā€™t up to MS standards. Iā€™m ok with it, because it wasnā€™t a large sum over what I should have paid for it and I am not sending it to be graded. Bottom line use this resource. thank you.
  6. Thanks JP et al ! Iā€™m great full to have the 1921 NGC MS63 and the 1922 peace NGC MS63, so maybe Iā€™ll just sell this on on eBay for $75 and call it a win! Bill
  7. Ouch, ok thank you Mohawk. Just proves IDKS. Gulp, there went the swallowing of my pride. Oh well, at least I wonā€™t lose more money sending it in for grading.
  8. Iā€™m sorry guys I just canā€™t seem to accept this coin as AU53. I got out the big gun and took a few more pictures. If, after this, you guys still call it AU53, Iā€™ll swallow my pride and go on with life.
  9. Thanks everyone, if that AU is $58 then I didnā€™t do so bad, worth ten bucks to me to have it. besides . I had the 1921 Morgan ms63, the 1922 Peace , the 2021 Morgan CC ( if I ever get the darned thing), the 2021 Peace dollar, the 2021 Ty 1 and Type 2 ASE, the 2021 Brittania, and the 1921 Florin , so that my anniversary set.
  10. Thanks guys, Iā€™m going with pmd, but canā€™t figure out why the three strikes are full height while the rest is flattened out, but as Mohawk said, we have all flattened coins on the railroad tracks, and weird things happen.
  11. Well I think youā€™ve mentioned that on a number of occasions, havenā€™t you. But realistically they are selling at a premium because of the anniversary.
  12. But that wouldnā€™t explain the three distinct strikes on the reverse bottom.also the whatever it is on the smooth obverse is raised above the surface so much you can feel it.
  13. Thank you. Looked like a p to me. That said, this coin is much sharper that my NGC MS63, and according to what I see on EBay, they are a whole lot more than $68. The two are SOLD ones.
  14. Found this is the loose coin bin at the antique store. I can see three distinct strikes, monticello, and some kind of mintmark on the obverse by mostly smooth.
  15. Picked up a few more at the antique store today. Plus a Cuban Quarter
  16. Thanks Mohawk, Iā€™ve gotten some great deals in just a few weeks of British coins, the 1937 and the 1944 are really special, beautiful coins. I will most likely buy more. Iā€™m looking at Victoria and George V now.
  17. I have been watching the status for some time now it has stated processing for a good while.
  18. a 1937 King George vi Crown. $26 ebay a 1944 King Geroge VI Two Shillings Ebay $13 a 1972 Elizabeth/Phillip 35th Anniversary commemorative $4.81 a 1971 Elizabeth II 2 New Pence A 1994 Elizabeth II 2 Pence A 1992 Elizabeth II Ten Pence Last three were $3.50 at a local antique shop.
  19. James they have changed their timeout for security. You have to completely log off and back on again then you can across the chats.
  20. I purchased the 2021 Morgan CC and wondering when the mint might begin shipping . Anyone know?
  21. Karen, it sure isnā€™t a normal thing. Here is an 81 no lines by any columns. I would suspect dIe deterioration doubling.
