  1. The mint giveth and the mint taketh away or, the Grinch actually works for the US Mint. I received a cancellation email last night for my order of the re-issue 2021 (P) Morgan and 2021 Peace dollar. This is really odd because the same thing happened the first time. The mint confirmed my order and then cancelled the same 2 coins.... twice, on the original release, and then the re-issue. "it was cancelled because the item(s) are no longer in our inventory and are not available for backorder." At least the order of the O privy mark shows shipped already. I was not able to get those the first time when the mint's servers crashed.
  2. If they re-issue the limited edition leftovers at 7:30 AM, that leaves me and a lot over other people out, since we are at work. I'll retire next year and maybe I'll have a chance at some of those 7:30 AM releases then.
  3. I tried to buy another CC and they were already sold out at the 3 minute mark. I think everything was sold in a matter a minutes.
  4. Today at 2:03 PM ET, I received several emails from the mint, offering the 2021 privy CC Morgan, 2021 privy O Morgan, the (P) Morgan, and the 2021 Peace dollar. I was not able to get any O's the first go round, so I hopped on that pretty quick, and was able to secure 3 which was the maximum order. Everyone must have went for the CC's first since as soon as I completed the O's order, the CC's already were sold out. But, I was then able to buy 3 more Peace dollars, and 3 (P) Morgans which I needed for century sets. What a surprise. I think this was all over in a matter of minutes.
  5. Hello Everyone, I have no experience with mint error coins. This 2021 CC Morgan is one of 10 I purchased from the mint this year. I thought there was a hair on the plastic capsule, but closer examination with a loop revealed what appears to me to be a crack in the planchet on the obverse side. A scratch would not go under Liberty's upper lip or under the bead at the edge of the coin. Should I submit this to NGC as a mint error which will most likely receive a details grade?. Has anyone heard of other errors in the new Morgan series? Any thoughts? Thanks for your input, Mstang56
  6. Thanks for all the info. I have a usb microscope which is great for imaging details like small and large date varieties. Coinbuf, your camera set up is what I need. Thanks again
  7. Does any have a suggestion for a camera designed specifically for taking full coin images?
  8. Morpheus1967, you should be on Jeopardy! You are correct, I have a 1995 W Proof Silver Eagle purchased at auction, graded PR-70 by a grading company I never heard of, RNG. I searched RNG online and have only found one page from 2012,"Royal Numismatic Grading". At any rate, under my 10x loop and with my poor eyesight, there are no obvious defects on the coin. I have no information on RNG, but the environment that they slabbed this coin in was not very clean. Not visible to the naked eye, but under the loop there is a lot of dust on the surface of the coin. I will be sending this in with a group of 30 other coins in the NGC, and like many others here have said, I will have my fingers crossed! I also have a 1787 Massachusetts half cent I'm hoping is genuine. More nail biting!
  9. I have a newbie question that maybe you folks can help me out with. I have accumulated several coins, some very valuable, but in little know grading company slabs. I want to send them in to NGC for a more respected grading. Is it better to remove the coins from existing slabs myself, or let NGC removed the coins from the existing slabs? One is valuable enough that the difference between PR 69 and 70 is $10,000.00.
