  12. JP that’s amazing, I’ve never found a V75 in the wild. Had to buy a graded one just to have one! And these oddball coins you find in CRH amazes me. There must be a lot of foreign money there in that “black hole “ of coins.

  15. I now have all proof mint sets from 1957-1980, although for 1969,70, 79 P,D sets, and 1966 and 67 Special Mint Sets.

  19. It has been electroplated as a science experiment. I hate this but…. Procedure: Put 25 g granular zinc metal and 100 mL 3 M NaOH into a 250 mL beaker. Heat the beaker on a hot plate until it begins to boil. Add cleaned pennies to the bath. ... After about 1 minute, the pennies will be silver colored (zinc plated). ... Remove the pennies and rinse with DI water. OR dipped in Acid removing the copper plating revealing the zinc base, (probable)
  20. I will qualify my answer saying that the way I view coins is to flip it up, and in this way it is sort of upside down but appears correctly. As James said most coinage is this way. If you simply rotate it sideways, it will appear upside down. It was originally done this way to identify the difference between coins of value (head-to-toe orientation) and that of military medals (which have a head-to-head orientation). After awhile, it was kept that way as a tradition. This is called a “coin turn,” and it is simply traditional for US coinage.
