  1. Looks like my cousin. I feel bad for saying this but... Poor old feller. When he cries tears run down the back of his neck.
  2. I reported it to Ebay as a counterfeit. Maybe they will take it down before someone actually gets burned. The starting bid is $200 on it. So far no bidders.
  3. Congrats on the W quarter. Ive not found any new ones yet but just looking at the design I like the old alot better. I can see why Flannagan's was chosen over Fraser's. Not a big fan of it. Just my opinion I think it looks hideous. I think before they used it they should have used a new design altogether. There are some amazing artist out there today who could have made a more beautiful design.
  4. Those are some beauties. I really like that kind of toning.
  5. I remember it saying women were less likely to come in hung over also than men.
  6. I really like those. I been wanting the half dollar for that year. Ive got the dollar so far. Its a beauty also. Love eagles.
  7. About the hunting licenses. Our state requires you to take a safety course before you can buy them. If you pass the training they will issue a card and you have to provide the card before they will sell you a license. Also if the game warden checks you you must also show your card to him or you will get a hefty fine. Its a state law. Nothing to do with the NRA. It is heavily enforced. Trust me. I got checked by the warden this past deer season and the first thing he asked for was my license and safety card. Im one who can tell you with 100% certainty that you do have to have a safety course to get a hunting license. At least in Ky. I dont want to say for sure about other states. Ive not fact checked them, which I like to do on sensitive subjects such as this one.
  8. I was waiting on someone to answer but that was my first thought also.
  9. Ive always been responsible with my guns. Ive owned them my whole life. All types. Ive never done nothing irresponsible with them. I took training to get my hunters card and also to get my concealed carry card. Cant blame everyone who owns handguns for what a few crazies do. I pack mine everyday at all times in case I got my family out and run into one of those crazies. As long as there are people out there that can do us harm im gonna try to defend myself from them. My kids are also very responsible with them because I taught them safety and raised them to respect everyone. Taught them right from wrong. I was raised around them from the time I very young. I learned at a very young age saftey and so did my kids.
  10. Ive seen Litton Coin Company advertisements several times. I never did check them out. But I was just scrolling around looking at dimes and found this listing. I know not to buy from them now. Theres no way this dime is MS60. Looks like false advertising. Thats crazy.
  11. Id sure like to find a couple. Ive not seen any yet. Id like to have a couple for my collection. I save stamped coins when I come across them even though they are just damage. Some are pretty cool. Espically the masonic and NRA.
  12. You fine. If you dont ask you will never know. I encourage new collectors to ask questions. I still ask quite a few questions myself. I have learned a whole lot like that. Most things I try to google but ,if Im still not certain or dont understand, I will ask about it. And everyones opinions together help.
  13. Dont know if any were auctioned but would love to go back and purchase some of the pattern pieces in the 1700s when they were trying to establish a mint. I really like these three.
  14. I agree with JP. Looks like a stain to me to from another coin laying on top of it. Maybe in the cup holder of someones vehicle or something like that.
  15. Looks like a metal detector find or one someone picked up out of the dirt. I agree it looks to have been buried at on time and just corroded. Ive dug them up before that look just like that.
  16. Thats exactly the same way I am. Im more of a collector than a competitor. Its way out of my budget trying to compete. I enjoy putting my sets in the registry to display them and it helps set a goal for me. To complete a set it helps me keep up with what I need. I enjoy looking at all the other peoples sets also. $60 is big money for a coin for me. I wasnt smart enough to get a good job when I was younger and my budget is very low. Some coins I gave around $150 to $200 but it was when the weather was good and I would put back 20 or 30 out of each check if I had it until I saved up for one. Thats why its taking me so long to complete my set. All this trouble and bad weather has put a hurting on me and I aint been able to get none for a couple months but soon as it clears up and I get back to working everyday Im gonna start on those rosies. Im really wanting to do a full torch set. Im also wanting to do an SMS cameo set also. Not sure what year yet. I been looking and I may be able to afford a lower grade one.
  17. Thats very cool to even have a number 2 set. I foresee in the future you will have that number 1 spot again. You got a very nice set. I really enjoyed looking at it. Those are some stunning Lincolns. Very well presented also. The descriptions and everything. Looking at your set and @Lem Ewonderful set of Jeffersons has inspired me to work harder on mine. Im gonna write descriptions on my Washingtons. Its bout too late on them but Im gonna try to finish them out with some nice coins but not super high grades. I done got in a hurry and spent a pile of money on problem coins and theres way to many and hard key dates out of my budget. Im still very happy and grateful for what I have done on it. Im gonna finish it out slowly. I am however gonna start a set of Roosevelt dimes. Im gonna to try to go full torch and be more picky on them. It will be pricey on some but way less in a set and really no really hard key dates such as the 32 d & s GWs. Or the 1950 d/s & s/d. I dread getting those. But the set of dimes will be easier on me to find and Ive got a fresh start to pick the right coins for my set. I plan on being more creative and write cool facts and descriptions. I really enjoyed your set and thanks for sharing it with all of us to enjoy and inspiring people like me to try and do better.
  18. I wouldnt care to read it. Thank you Roger.
  19. I literally didnt know. That was a couple days before my time. Or according to this quarter I found today, a couple years before I was born anyways. I never got out much. Wasnt much to do like that out in the country where we lived. But I find red quarters and nickels constantly. Heres one I got back in change today on my lunchbreak. I almost ask that question while back why people painted them red back in the day. Ive seen them my whole life and always wondered why Ive seen so many. Now I know.
  20. Those are grease filled dies. A struck through is where a piece of some kind of debris gets on the planchet or die such as grease, cobweb, etc. and it strikes it into coin.
  21. Your in the right place. Ask any questions you want about coins and the knowledgable members on here will be glad to help. If you ever have any more you need help identifying feel free to ask.
  22. If we had a research paper to write up we had to use encyclopedias. Then wasnt aloud to plagerise it. Had to figure out how to write it in our own words. Also is we didnt like something one said about the other we would just knock it out and then go back to being friends again. We didnt run and cry with hurt feelings and make threats of calling someone with authority. Most of the time we all got along though.
  23. I didnt know what it meant to get offended until the internet came around. Didnt even know the definition of it.
  24. Thats how I grew up around my homeplace in the 80s and 90s. Its taking that snow storm a while to get here because were still all like that. We dont get offended very easily.
