  1. Very nice. A great day indeed. Congrats my friend.
  2. Lol. I found a quarter like that while back. Had a good size chip right in GWs nostril. Thats the first thing I thought.
  3. I hear ya. Im always a day late and a dollar short.
  4. My good friend @zadok is the winner. MS 65. Its a really nice looking coin in hand. Very colorful. My bad photography makes it hard to see the detail in it. I fell in love with this coin when I bought it raw. Thats why I sent it in to get it authenicated.
  5. Heres a picture of it with the color taken away and under different lighting. Cant see the details as well in the first pics.
  6. Ill reveal the grade tomorrow evening.
  7. My photography skills are horrible. Also my equipment. All I have is an android phone to take pics.
  8. Lets try one of these. Ive learned its hard to guess accurately based off pictures but its fun to still try. I really like this coin. I had this one sent in to get slabbed myself while back. Its hard to catch in a picture but its colorful with pinks, blues, purples, and other colors as you turn it in the light. Pinkish purple being the dominant color. Also its not beat up bad with bag marks like most you see on Ebay. I will enjoy reading everyones guesses. At about 8 oclock , that is a fiber or hair or something on the slab thats looped around at the 2 stars. Didnt see it till I done cropped the photos. Also on the cheek.
  9. Im thinking is a fake. I could be wrong . It just dont look right to me. Im voting fake. Im wrong more than Im right though.
  10. Sometimes you can get lucky and find them at online auctions and not get outbid. You may live close somewhere where you can go to a live auction. Unfortunately I dont have any where I can go close. Also certain brick and mortar shops. If your lucky enough to live close to a good one. All I have are pawn shops close to me and they have outrageous prices. Also sometimes you can find great deals on Ebay. Thats where 80% of mine has came from. Just beware who your buying from on there. Always check the feedback of the sellers and read the reviews people write. Sometimes scammers like to sell counterfeits on there so be careful and look the coin over good. If your not sure if one is authenic your going to buy then post it on here and people will be more than happy to help you out.
  11. I like some commeratives. Depending on what they are. Some I just dont care for at all. I espically enjoy older commeratives. I like commeratives with eagles on them also. Such as the 2008 P bald eagle.
  12. Great story my friend. I enjoyed reading this.
  13. Very nice. Congratulations. That is a stunning coin.
  14. Its all in what you want to collect. If you enjoy them then collect them. Some people do and thats great. They have every right to. Everyone has their own things they like to collect. I dont criticize them in any way. If they like signature labels then Im very happy to see them collect them. Its just my opinion that signature labels are not for me. I dont like paying extra money for a coin over what the plastic its in looks like or because someone wrote their name on it.
  15. My thoughts exactly. Im not gonna pay an extra $50 or so, however much it is, for someones autograph or signature. Espically on bullion.
  16. Very nice brother. Your moving along great on that set.
  17. Love those trimes. Ive got 1 in my collection. Its an 1853 AU details. Corrosion. Got one tiny spot on it but thats all it takes. I was hoping it would have been something NCS coulda fixed but I was wrong. Still like it very much. I really really want one in mint state but they are way to pricey for me. One time I could have bought one but settled for a CC Morgan instead. Hopefully one of these days I can get one. They are my favorite coin out there but I just cant afford to collect them. Im gonna quit rattling on and guess its an xf45. Very nice piece of history my good friend.
  18. Thank you all. Ill probably never try to get an upgrade. I really like it in the older holder. Prob just leave it as is. Been in there for around 30 years so it deserves to stay there. I may try for a bean one of these days. It also came from my friend like that so ill keep it like that. Its gonna stay in my collection for as long as Im alive so Im very happy of how it is. And glad to have a rattler in my collection. A little piece of history itself.
  19. Looks like rim dings on the coin but its not. Theres 3 little spots on the plastic all at the edge of the coin. Looks like where the slab was fused together or something. Not really sure what it is but its in the plastic. Just the angle I took the pic is bending the light or something of that nature giving it that anomally.
  20. Can anyone tell me what generation holder this is? USMC Ray gifted this to me about a year or so ago. I really like this coin. It isnt beat up very bad with contact marks. I really miss old Ray. He was a good person . Hope he is well. I enjoyed talking to him. But back on topic. This holder is very small and thin. I was actually wondering where on a timeline where this generation fell. Also how conservative were coins graded in the time this was certified?
