  1. Id say your right. With the help of tj96 pushing me in the right direction it was the symbol the US Army used. I found a chart that said that design was used from 1902 to present. Whenever that chart was last dated. Looks to big to be a button so Id say your right. Do to the solder marks its probably a pin of some kind. Maybe an expert in that category will see this thread and help confirm it or tell us more about it. Although not valuable I still have a big intrest in that kind of stuff. I love the history behind those sorts of things.
  2. It sure did. In the very top picture if you look close you can see 4 little spots that look like solder.
  3. She been fighting with her punk meth head boyfriend. He came in and got mean with her. They staying in my moms house and he started breaking things. I went up and run him off and we was all tore up from adrenline and I forgot to take a pic of it. Ill try to do it next weekend. Maybe sooner if I get rained out. Just found out I gotta stay away all week.
  4. My niece done left with it. Ill get her to bring it back soon
  5. That sure looks like it. Thank you. Yea. Its pretty wide. Everything else looks good.
  6. Heres a larger picture of the front. Maybe some king of pin or something? Would this be something from the military?
  7. My niece had an old man gave her this piece. Dont know if its a type of medal, button, belt buckle, or what. We know its nothing of value or anything like that. We just wondering and trying to figure out what it is. Its defanitely bronze or copper. Its roughly 2 3/4 inches wide. Its only struck on one side. Its hollowed on the other. Its badly corroded like its been in the ground or something. Does anyone know what this could be?
  8. I agree. Just strike doubling from a worn die.
  9. In my opinion. I think a rare or keydate, should be treated like any other coin. Why lie and say its better than it is. Even if there is just a small number. Cant pretend those spots or scratches arent there.
  10. Its a good thing because even the other hillbillys around here ask what holler I came out of. They say I invented my own language. I just hate to come feel out of place. I usually get made fun of alot when I go to different places. Ive met some really cool people out and Ive seen some joke a little and still be friendly and Ive also met alot of people who take it way to far. Im very different than most folks.
  11. I cant wait to come meet everyone. Sounds like alot of fun.

  13. Very interesting article. It looks like your a very busy man @RWB Ive not got the patience to do all that myself.
  14. I found a common date mercury dime in my garden a few years ago. Not very good shape but still a cool find. Used a metal detector out there a few years later and never found anything else except garbage. Found a few arrowheads also.
  15. Same here. Be hard for me to get the money for it and to survive for a week. Also hard to get off work for a few days. Sounds really cool. Be great to have an online course like that one of these days. Where everyone can link up live and take it. For ones who cant get away from home.
  16. That was a generous gift. There are some great people out there in this world.
  17. I remember back when we used to only get 3 channels. Sometimes 4 if the weather was right. We had a handfull of antennas in my young days before Primestar satelite came around. I remember having to turn those things almost every other day to try and pick up channels. Sometimes in these hills we would only pick up 1 channel, (channel 3) but, most the time you could pick up channels 8, and 13 also. I remember we bought a booster for it one time and was very excited. With the booster we could get channel 11 and 27 also. Then lightening hit it a few days later and fried it. Back to 1 to 3 channels again. It took 3 of us to tune antenna in. 1 to turn it. One to watch when the picture comes in the best and one to relay messages back and forth.
  18. Wonder what would happen if you cracked it back out and tried submitting it to PCGS again.
  19. I cant really think of a good name for it. All the ones I can think of are unappropriate or to cheesy.
  20. I dont know. Thats pretty normal in todays society.
  21. Nice little die crack. Did he have one of those incidents where he had something running down his leg afterwards? Or did his space suit malfunction or something? Ive never heard the story behind it before.
