I will get one, or two !
I got my images, oh well it's still such a pretty coin
And now I'll be able to see the edge they feel so fragile in the capsule. It will take time, but I get to road test the scratch proof surface for myself as well. So all is not lost
I am considering buying a MS69PL already slabbed, as others have also eluded to.. I will certainly buy another from the mint via a friend
For an (arguably) better look, the photos are now in the cert lookup

Greetings!
Yesterday at lunch I had a conversation with a co-worker about the hobbies we both pursue, and other interests we hold dear.
My friend is an avid bicycle enthusiast and goes to Moab, Utah to do some extreme mountain biking and also rides frequently around the city canyons. He could not contain the thrill he has for the sport as his words spilled over and literally seemed to take me on the red rock trails and city canyon hill
Waiting to see my beauties is getting the best of me!
I am currently in Florida on a small vacation my wife and i took, to celebrate our 3rd Anniversary. I just found out yesterday that out of a 19 coin submission of 1986 ASE uncirculated coins that 11 of them came back as MS70 First Year Issue. This is absolutely wonderful. My delima is that i am so close to them yet so far away. I am hoping they arrive home about the same time i do, that would just be awesome. I am also waiting on 8 1999 sil

Real Food
As some of you know, I haven't had any food or drink since July 2008. Well today I had a test, and they said I could start to eat with puree food. So I had some tomato soup. I've been dying to have it.
Also I upgraded my Walking Liberty sets.
I give up, I can't find the answer anywhere.
So many dealer highlight their coins with great description, mintage, and how many are known to exit today. Sometimes they end their description with " and it's housed in an old green holder." This is what I can not find the answer to:
When did the green holder start?
When was is discontinued?
With this knowledge a collector would know approximately how long the coin they are intersted in went untouched.
So I give up, I can't f
NGC graded coins
Hey Buds,
Checked out a auction on www.proxibid on Friday night, a few NGC graded coins. There is a chance I may add 1 to my sets.Work is O-K, bills are O-K, I'm going shopping. HAPPY COIN COLLECTING
GOD HAD TO SMILE UPON ME IN ORDER TO GET IT LIKE THIS
I JUST CHECKED THE STATUS OF MY LATEST SUBMISSION. I SENT IN AN ORIGINAL ROLL OF 1986 U.S. SILVER AMERICAN EAGLES. LAST WEEK I GOT A CALL FORM NGC TELLING ME THAT THE ROLL OF EAGLES I SENT IN WAS ONE SHORT, SO I CALLED THE PERSON WHO I PURCHASED THEM FROM AND TOLD HIM THIS. HE SENT OUT THE 20TH ONE TO MAKE UP FOR THEM BEING SHORT. SO ANYWAY, I SENT THE 19 COIN ROLL TO NGC AND FIRST I DO BELEIVE THIS WAS RECORD TIME IN TURNAROUND, 9 DAYS. SE
nothing like young numismatists and a big bag of treasure !!
I recently had one of the most fun coin experiences that I've had in a while...and it was from giving and not adding to my collection.
First of all, I must give credit where it is due.. a friend of mine from the NGC Chat Boards ( and also another coin website of friends) named "Antthe" has been buying large amounts of world coins "by the pound" and has been enjoying picking through them for interesting finds. I believe that his f
And the coin of the month for May is...
an 1818 Capped Bust Quarter. Moderate golden gray toning with luster in the protected areas. This is graded by PCGS as AU-53, and is the Browning 8 variety. A nicely struck large size quarter.
It only took two years
Finally. Two years in the hunt finally paid off today with the arrival of my 1857 0 half eagle. It is graded XF 40 by PCGS. She is more beautiful than her on line picture. The surface is smooth, no hits, marks or scratches. And here is the surprise kicker for me: it came in an old green holder. Nice surprise.
Very happy with that.. now hoping for the MS70
In other news, I just posted an interesting question on lasered die numbering in the forums. Please comment ! you'll need to copy paste the link, something which is a shame about the journals. Arch ?

Beautiful design, but was there ever an uproar?
I am a big fan of Mercury Dimes. In fact, I love early 20th Century coinage in general. It is a look that really corresponds to the time in which it was minted. I've been sitting here looking at a Mint State 1942 that I just purchased, and i got to thinking, as I'm prone to do.
The reverse of the coin displays what's called, I believe, a Fascia, which was a symbol of Roman authority. It was also the symbol of the Italian Fascist Party under Ben
Sometimes I wonder...
Greetings Collectors,
I was just here at the computer where I usually am late in the evening and was thinking how my life is somewhat "consumed" with numismatics. I do work during the day for the most part but being in business for myself I work my own hours. But tonight having just hung up with my girlfriend I really started thinking about how much time this hobby takes up.
For example, I had a coin day Sat. and then there was the new issue of "Numismatic News" that
im wanting to build a website for my clients collection.....
PS amy can we get a spot in the Charlotte gold quarter eagle set for the 1839/8c $2.5......pretty pleaseHi all,I'm hoping there is a fellow collector or two out there with some website building experience that wouldn't mind helping me out getting a website up and viewable....i do have some experience with computers and actually did some broadband internet tech support for a few years so im not a total novice but when it comes to build
Check out the new photos.
Just updated all my IHC proof's images with professionally done photos. I attempted to take my own pictures but did not have the necessary equipment or knowledge of coin photography. I got a a great numismatic photographer from the Collector Society Boards to take on the project. It took several packages from Texas to California and back to complete it. In the meantime we became good friends and will continue keeping in touch. I encourage you to visit the Collector So
Just bought 2 more Proof ASE's
Hi Everyone,
Just decided to upgrade my Proof ASE's a little more. Got a good deal on them. Picked up a 1990 PF70 and a 1992 PF70.
Trying to get as many as I can while the prices are still fairly low (nothing about 70's is low), but I feel the need to BUY things for my set.
I am considering starting Roosevelt Dimes in MS. I have been in contact with a few members about this and might pursue this avenue as long as the money holds out. My income is getting lo

Here is what I acquired in April
I have been slowly adding to my proof SAE this year trying to finish them up. In April I was able to add 2 more to my collection. A 1997 and a 1995 SAE. I wish the 95 was the "W" but alas it had to be the "P". It leaves me only the 1994 and the 1995 W Eagles for a complete set.
I also received my 2 Lincoln and 2 Braille proof commemoratives and they went off to NGC with another comm I had sitting around. To my untrained eye I believe 1 of the Lincolns and bot
A money maker for who?
Having two excellent grading services, NGC and PCGS, I do not see the need for CAC. A second opinion on a grade only adds to the cost of the coin(dealers seek premium) or is now costing the average collect money when you try to sell a coin that does not have the sticker. Having collected coins prior the CAC, none of my coins have the designation and the cost of trying to certify a coin is costly( shipping back and forth etc.) Seems like another way to make money.

Lots of Plans... Waiting for funding...
I always seem to find myself in situations like this. I come up with these big ideas for what I want to do, blow through my funding (and then some) and then have to wait for a couple of weeks while my budget catches up with my ideas (which it never really seems to do). Just working on what I have planned for my signature set pretty effectively taxes my finances.
About a week ago I went a bit overboard and now I'm (predictably) paying the price for it.
