I have said good Bye to my collection of ASE's not all of them but most of them, not because I had to but because I wanted to.
I deleted and desposed of my largest collection of Silver Eagles. They have lost their appeal, to me anyway. I would rather have a nice MS 62-63 27d, 27s, or 28s Peace Dollar than 19 American Silver Eagles. I still have all the MS70 Eagles and will hang on to them for awhile anyway. My change or heart started with the release of the UHR Saint-Gaudens copy coin. I Could
glad i asked

I'm still kind of surprised
I was just told that I'm taking a rather hefty pay cut at work. I was totally surprised considering that my company has been able to bill out over $100K/month in processing charges for booking sales orders for a client via application software that I designed and wrote. I understand that other areas of our business are soft, and that the belt-tightening is across the board, but I still can't but feel bitter about the whole thing.
On top of that, I've had to lay ou
Few COAs short!
Hello everyone!
Here I thought I was doing everything right. I filled out the submission forms with everything needed to adequately convey my submission to the actual/eventual graded slab. I just happened to omit:
The Certificate of Authenticity!!!
Some Canadian coins have a serial number on the COA.
Can everyone in unison say DUH???
Thank goodness a fax is somewhat faster than snailmail. My coins arrived, and they should mate up tomorrow or the next day.

My Mama told me you got to shop around!

Happy Hunting!!
I think I did it!
Hello My friends and fellow collectors. On my first journal I wrote I wanted to double the amount of graded coins in my collection. I'm glad to inform you all that I have accomplished this before my goal of the end of the year. I did this by selling some of my raw coins. I'm really happy. I hope to continue with this success.
Slow Month
I didnt do much buying this month.I have been focusing on Getting rid of some debt,so I can back into debt again.
Here is what I bought this month
1963 Roosevelt PF69UC
1981-P Roosevelt ms67ft...They have 2 higher,I want one
2009 Louis Braille MS70 ...I think is a a very plain dollar.
Next month may be a little better. We will see
And the coin of the month for June is...
an 1854 3 cent silver (Trime). This is the first year for the Type 2 design. Well struck and with full luster, this piece is graded MS-65 by PCGS. With deep golden, green and russet toning.
But some of the new sets that were added allowed me to lower (or increase) my ranking, depending how you look at it, from 65th, now to 63rd.
I gained a couple thousand points in the process and was delighted to display some coins that I've had for a while that I was never really able to show unless I took the time to create one of the Signature Sets.
For some, I had photos. For many, unfortunately, I did not. As with many of my U.S. sets, the sets are scattered, in that I dabbled a little

Just another senior moment.
About a week ago I was perusing an auction, placing a few bids that I thought didn't have a chance of winning, and then it happened. I got an email stating that I was a winner and here is the invoice for your purchase. I couldn't believe it! First of all it took some time for me to even recollect that I had bid on the coin and secondly, I was at a loss to figure out how to pay for it.
I am really enjoying the coin and finally realizing an appreciation for 'copp

Hello everyone!
The results are in. My 1987 Canada Proof Loon made PF 69 Ultra Cameo. According to the census, it is the best .....so far.
My day was really made because I have them all. They just finalized today.
WOOOOOOHOOOO!
I will have images when they get here. NGC has the images in the data base.
I even started a set. The rest are going to auction for future submissions. I would have liked one 70, but these are just fine.
I wish my others would be so
47 coins total !
My big box is almost ready to come back. I have posted a few times. You all know what I want. This week has been incredibly hard waiting for these grades. I hope it doesn't ship NEXT week
NGC should really consider allowing viewing of coin grades at the QC stage. ** or red text could indicate the grade is subject to passing Quality Control. I would love to know if they have any statistics on how many coins actually leave QC and go back to the grading room. It must be very lo
5 coins - 2 graded as I thought they would and 3 graded lower. One of these days I'll figure this out!
My five free grades I decided this time would be a run of 5 Lincoln cents spanning Wheats/Memorials/Birth & Childhood. Going into it I had hopes that the Wheat cent would be an MS-67, but was resigned to my usual MS-66 and I expected the 1970 Memorial to come in at MS-66, which isn't bad for a coin pulled from an original bank roll. However, I had high hopes for a 1988-D and 1995-D - I wa
Queen Elizabeth II, the last of the Vignettes of Royalty Coins to be Released soon.
For those of you that are interested in acquiring any of the Royal Canadian Mint, Vignettes of Royalty Series (which is an extremely high relief proof silver coin) the last of series, Queen Elizabeth II (in the same effigy of her first Sovereign Coin in the early 1950?s) will be release soon. That will make all coins in the set available now, providing they have not sold out for the first two were released in
Getting back in the game
Wow, it's been almost two months since I wrote a journal entry. Work has been keeping me very busy. I'm a software systems engineer working primarily in support of the Hubble Space Telescope (HST).
As many of you probably are aware, a terrific crew of astronauts recently completed a highly successful HST servicing mission. This being one of the last space shuttle missions, and the last with any connection to me, I decided to go to see the launch of Atlantis. (Lik
Finally!
Hi Everyone
Well, it's finally that happy day again. More sets to NGC!
WOOOOOHOOOOO
Pennies, and dollars, and Sacs and..........you name it!
Hopefully all my Sacs will come back with a FDOI pedigree?
Good luck to everyone that is submitting the flood of new metal into the economy. I wish NGC sold stock!
I guess this is the "change" we were promised?
My Loons aren't done yet, and the next wave is already there.
Hopefully I will get a few 70s to complete my sets.
Hopefu
How the diversity of collecting brings richness to our hobby!
What is it in the mind and heart of the individual collector that causes them to collect one variety of coin over another? What is it that draws some people to this year?s Lincoln cents and others to choose First Spouse gold coins? Of course, value and cost have something to do with it, but I would argue that what motivates the individual collector most are their individual tastes regardless of cost. In my case, I?d go head over hee
What am I talking about? Has anyone ever HEARD of Tuvalu?
Or does anyone know that the Perth Mint in Australia produces many coins for Tuvalu?
Well, this is the 50th Anniversary of BARBIE! Tuvalu, in coordination with the Perth Mint and even Mattel, issued an official coin in honor of this milestone, with Barbie looking as she originally did.
The coin is colorized by the Perth Mint (not after market), in a color specified and as I understand it, patented by Mattel or something like that,
Braille
Just recieved this MS70 Braille Commemorative coin in the mail yesterday. At first seeing the coins be released , My thought was it was not the best looking coin, but once in hand its a pretty good looking coin after all. Now waiting on the PF70 to hit my hands. Happy Collecting to all.

MY 1999 SILVER PROOFS SUCKED!!
WELL I PREVIOUSLY WROTE ABOUT SENDING IN TWO GEORGOUS 1999 SILVER PROOF SETS, I EXAMINED THEM UNDER 10X LOUPE AND SEEN NO VISABLE FLAWS WHAT SO EVER.
I GOT THE GRADES TODAY, AND TO MY SURPRISE I RECEIVED ONLY 2 PF70UC GRADES, ONE GEORGIA AND ONE JERSEY, HOW COULD THAT BE? NOT ONE OF THE COMMON COINS GRADED OUT 70 AND ONLY 2 OF THE QUARTERS-I THINK THE GRADERS AT NGC ARE GETTING A BIT REDICULOUS, I GET BACK 11 MS70 1986 SILVER EAGLES FROM A SINGLE 19 COIN ROLL O
