I have nine nice looking platinum eagles, 1/10 and one 1/4 oz thay have just been return to me from NGC, PF70UC'S and PF69UC's, this will get my platinum set started. When i sent in my mint sets i will have a good start in completion of them.
When these proof sets and my mint sets are all completed, theses will be the best in my sets for i am neer completed. I hope to start on my silver eagle proofs and mints sets soon.
Looking through the census data i realized one thing...its really out of date! or in some instances just wrong
I use the census information quite regularly with the area i specialize in (condition census Charlotte gold) i look at the census information to work out how many of a particular year are graded mint state and at what grade etc etc
Now i know this information is already a bit off due to resubmissions(how they can ever fix that i don't know but i wish they could) but what i have foun
This really happens with all this modern technology?
Hi All,
I just tried to enter the coin I have into the Registry....again.
Here's what gets kicked back:
We continued to have problems with the following Certification numbers. They have been added to our admin queue to be processed. You will receive notification when processing is complete.

At least the strapless penny was right.
Hello everyone!
It all came to pass. If you've followed my last two weeks of journals, you,ll be right on top of this.
My KM13-A NZ, 1d Penny, is now just a plain 1945 penny. That's two they blew.
I sent either a PL or PF, 1945, to NCS for fingerprint removal. They did a great job. It does look nice, however, it's got a purple slab.....yup. It's polished. Gee, my eyes are playing tricks on me. I guess I have to send all my proofs back to be relabel
world's fair dollars
Hello,
With all the NGC bandying going on lately I just wanted to post something good about NGC.
I sent in 2 Morgan dollars that were housed in holders from the 1962 World's Fair. I was hopeful that they would get a pedigree for that. Woefully it was not to be. I have been in contact with Brian Sillman from NGC regarding these 2 coins for over 3 weeks. And after many discussions (e-mails) it was decided that they could not offer the pedigree to these coins as there was
I'm still around believe it or not.
For over a year there I tried to read every journal entry that was posted. I'd check in at least once a day to see what was going on. I have to admit I haven't been doing that lately. I haven't really been on much at all since I made my last journal almost 2 months ago. A quick browsing of the titles and teasers tells me that not much changed and confirms that some discussions will never die, no matter how many times you beat the dead horse. In some ways tha
I knew I put it in a safe place.
Hi all!
I have been in my coin room for 3 hours looking for a teensey, weensey coin. At least I think it's a coin. I told you in a previous journal I had one that I wanted to send to NGC. With all that's going on, I am hesitant. If it is a real coin, I should let NCS evaluate it. Maybe conserve it so it will grade at NGC?
I am here to ask some help before I spend money on a potential loser.
Can anyone identify this for me? I know it's old, but not how old
Oh yeah......I think I remember.
Hello all,
I love this place. I just remembered all the FVF, and listing fees, and the extra imaging fees, and not selling a thing unless I'd ship for free, and sell for ten cents on the dollar. I went to eBid and have had decent results........for free, forever.
Well, back to the point. Ebay is a great place to waste your money listing all the purple tagged slabs from NCS/NGC. In less than two weeks the place is flooded with some very nice, and diverse coi
Is it payback?
Hello all!
I guess if I can't get into the site, I can't see what they are doing to my coins. They'll all be graded and shipped before I can call them to complain. If they are so far behind, why won't they hire? I need a job.
It's a good thing I read Dena's post. I thought for a minute she was talking about the graders.
That's all folks
Luv them and Check out The MINT...

A major overhaul is needed.
Another example in my competing sets..
My coin 1885M 1/2 Sov XF40
Vs coin 1886S 1/2 Sov AU50
These coins are about half a grade apart in Australia. VF and gVF
The 1886S is "common" in that grade or lower. 82000 minted is reasonably low, but there are lots remaining
The 1885M is "rare date" in any grade, with a tiny mintage of 11,003 and an estimated population of remaining coins 1/3 as many as there are 1886S's (500 vs 1500)
My coin, nearly 4000 points.
I'd like to take another minute of your time.
Hello everyone!
I'd like to thank everyone that has corresponded with me over this details grading issue, and points changes. I have grown to admire a few of the members that post journals. I want to thank everyone for the positive support. Not a negative email from any of you? Even my competitors have sent a nice note.
I'd like to keep it that way.
I am proud of my coins, and I am proud of the friendship the Society has nurtured.
I only t
You will only be hurting innocent people
Sellers depend on high DSR's to qualify for FVF discounts start messing with them and you only hurt the seller not eBay. EBay will just make more money, but of course a spiteful short sighted disgruntled bunch of buyers wouldn't give a damn about that would they??
Later JimL4004
Since they increased their fees and rules,Lets teach them a lesson
My feedbacks are 100% and I am not allowed to sell on ebay. Excuse me,Feebay......... You all know why feedbacks are important. Now e-bay has this stupid DSR rating. It simply means That you can give 1-5 stars to any seller. Now if for any reason, you want to leave low stars, all you need to do is penalize anyone from selling again. Leave a low DSR.1 star per customer...Feedbacks are important, but DSR is stupid. I Know e-bay will
Yes, it's slightly old news...
Last Sunday's sale of the Holmes early date large cent collection was followed Monday by the sale of the Naftzger late dates. I wish I had been able to attend, as I did the Naftzger middle dates in February. Nevertheless, there was opportunity to place absentee bids and bid live on-line. Despite reports of problems with live bidding in February, I had none on Monday, and saw that other internet bidders were being recognized. Indeed, the underbidder on the lot I w
What does it do? How do the coins place in society, let alone the registry society?
The brief description that NGC and NCS gave about the new system for problem coins, kind of baffles me a bit. After reading how they would now grade/ slab those coins, I now see a slot for registering them into my registry set listings. Now I am confussed. Will points still be atributed to the details listing? I have a Canadian "1950 Arnprior" dollar that was recently bodybagged back to me. Now they did say tha
Take your politics somewhere else!
Politics have NO place here in the Journals.
I can say a lot of stuff about the current Adminstrattions PREDECESSOR now and in the past but I did not feel this is the place for politics.
I hope the Webmaster removes any POST that includes politics!
Icelandic History & Mythology on Coins
The Icelandic "Althing" (parliament) was established in 930AD, making it one of the oldest parliamentary institutions in the world. The Althing parliament has been in continuous operation since, except for a 45 year period (1800 to 1845).
In 1930 a parliamentary committee of the Althing commissioned the Saxony State Mint at Muldenhutten in Germany to mint coins of three denominations. These coins were minted to commemorate the 1000th Anniversary o
It couldn't be any worse than his vote for OBAMA
Friends, Yep I have been keeping up with the journals, not adding coins for a while but still put in a shot of something to make it worth the time when I do. I can't comprehend what RAM says because it is coated with too much sugar "he must be taking lessons from the same person Obama is seeing". I know #1 is #1 because he or she is #1 and you know it because NGC told you and I will tell you they are #1.....HAPPY COIN COLLECTING

I want to purchase a 1962 Proof Penny must be NGC PF69UCI am trying to improve my NGC Registry set I have three PCGS coins in this registry 1974, 75 & 76 want to trade for NGC of the same grade PF69UC
Is it time for NGC to rethink its competitive set scoring system?
Unfortunately this journal entry is a rant. I don?t like rants since I feel when I write something it should be positive, humorous or simply provide some insight into me and how I think of coins.
I don?t have any ?competitive sets? so I have no chance of seeing my signature sets amass a ton of points and beating out others. Yes signature sets do get awards, but these awards are given based on a totally subjective basis or
What NGC gives it takes away!!!!!!!
I guess I was going up points ladder to quick for some one , so was knocked down a few slots. NGC did not even have the time to notify be that the points was going be down rated or why or ask me what I thought about the down grade. it was not debated at all that I can find in the forums. I did not set the points for for any registry slots, NGC did. Cost me 15 spots over all and 2 from the
It makes no sense to me
Hello everyone!
My purple Coroner's tagged coins get only half points. They aren't good enough to get real grades.
When coins that are graded get half points, it makes me think twice about getting the pristine 1855 Australian half sovereign graded.
I lost 34 points this week. My set suffered a setback....of sorts. I do try hard to make these sets.
When you lose not only points, but rank.....something is amiss.
Five thousand points would eliminate a few of my
