Jerry----You got me going now!!!
Friends,
As I posted earlier on mailman's post I have a large submission of selected coins for the 70's. With the post from Mailman I just had to pull out the 2X2's and get a pic of one of the favorites of mine. This is a solid GOLD toned IKE that will go strait to NGC as I don't think it would benefit a NCS curve. Hope to get a star grade here!!
ENJOY!!!

My first mint set,
1776-1976 Mint Set is 100% complete. The higher grade Kennedys don't come up for auction very often so I bought a MS65 for $15.00 It's not gonna break me and I am trying to get some of them completed. Trying to get a 10 year run of #1 sets, 1971-1981. Have a great day, MAILMAN

A trade with Six Mile Rick
Most of the time when you try a trade with someone it is very difficult to come to terms that are agreeable to both parties. Not so with this trade,we came to an agreement quickly and easily.Rick is honest and easy to work with!!

Describes why Buffalo Nickels have long been a favorite of collectors
I just received this week's issue of the Numismatic News and read Paul Green's article on the Buffalo Nickel. The author does an excellent job in exploring the history of the series and the origin of James Earle Fraser's classic American coin design. Mr Green discusses at length the origins of the obverse design ( a composite of three Native Americans) and the reverse ( possibly not the famous Black Diamond). The piece well
do you think its fair?
Hello fellow collectors,
I have a question for you all. NGC is offering the retro black slabs for the new American Eagle coins to BULK submissions only which is 50 sets or more. I believe that the black slabed coins will demand a higher price in the future than the white ones will. As an elite member I think than the option of the black slabs should be offered to all members no matter how many sets they submit until the slabs they have on hand are gone. So tell me p
Waited on these for a long time
Hi everyone. yesterday I finally received these two latest additions too my Lincoln Memorial circulation issue registry sets. They are a NGC MS69RD 1994 and 1994D Lincoln Memorial with a current population of 1 and 3 respectively. I had been paying on these two for awhile and I want to thank Mark from datentype for always being the best and working with me and many other collectors. Mark contacted me in the middle of last year and told me he had these two ex
Strange Find
Hey Friends,
While searching for more 05 to 2010 MS coins for mint sets I ran across a 2005P Buff Westward Journey nickel that had a strange circle cut in it. The rim is fine so it had to happen before the rim was rolled on it. Wonder if the platchet cutter made it and it stayed through the dye?
Here is a pic

Ok, I was not referring to myself
In my previous post I showed a Lincoln Cent that had -- extra metal -- connecting dates numbers together. I am now posting another oddity I picked up in Northern New York.
This coin, if real, is an off-centered planchet but, I can not tell of which coin. The dealer who sold it was not present and I obtained the planchant from a huge bin, separated into baskets, of U.S. and foreign coinage. Most, but not all, of the foreign coins were Canadian.
Since thi
I knew I was close but didn't know which one would put me over the top.
Hello fellow collectors. My first journal happens to coincide with my recent breakthrough of the 100K registry points milestone. Sure its just a number but it defines a point at which I can look back and reflect on the collection I have built in last three and a half years. For me, this all started with one of those "America's First Silver Dollars" followed by the realization that collectible grade eight reales coins (a
From being sold to someone else, he he!
I have been looking for one of these Lincolns that I could buy on time for over a year now. Well, when the opportunity came up, I put my snake fangs in and struck.
Ok, enough silliness. When I saw Hunters Gold had upgraded his 1999 P Wide AM Lincoln from MS65RD to MS66RD I immediately sent him an email saying I wanted his old one. For my benefit, he did some rearranging of his plans and accepted my offer. He even graciously let me register the coin
A wonderful day with my with my wife culminated with the addition of an 1834 Bust Dime to my 7070 type set.
Going to a major coin show is a treat that occurs all too infrequently for me. The last time I went to a major show was the August 2011 ANA show, so I was particularly eager to attend the Central States Numismatic Society show on Thursday April 25. Typically, I like to attend major shows on either a Thursday or Friday because I find that the crowds are much smaller, and the selection of
Always looking to upgrade
Hi everyone. Here is the latest addition to my NGC Lincoln Memorial 1959-date circulation issue registry set. It is a NGC MS66RD 1999 Wide AM Lincoln Memorial. I am replacing the MS65RD example I did have in this slot. A very nice example of this error coin. Current NGC population of 30 with 6 graded higher. I hope you enjoy the pictures and as always, thanks for looking and Happy Collecting

Coming up on heritage
I was scanning the heritage website and coming soon is a Roosevelt dime I didnt need it , but admired. It last sold at heritage for 1600.00 but now it may bring a serious amount of money. I have crossed a few coins from PCGS to NGC,, Now they are being crossed back..
I wonder if the population report is being accurately kept up?

Done Deal
For 15 years I have been working on the sixteen coin set of New Orleans Liberty Head Half Eagles. I can recall finding each and ever coin. Today the Jazz Collection is complete and will never be upgraded. Ever coin has a story and every story is that makes this collection special to me.

I just heard of the passing of a friend.
Back in November 2009 I wrote about my time at the Baltimore show. As I was checking out a nice dime collection at the Liberty Seated Collectors Club table, a man named Bob Hammond engaged me in conversation. By the end of that chat, he had paid my initial LSCC membership fee and pointed me toward acquisition of a book I had been seeking. We had also connected in that he lived most of his life in the city in which I grew up, and that I may be distantly
Does it get better or worse from here ?
I noticed a change in the NGC registry. When you are looking at your sets of coins, there is a numismatic value area. Now next to that is a "SHOP EBAY " area. REALLY !!!!
Someone must be getting paid a pretty penny to put that spot there.
Why not "Shop Heritage ", they have better coins for the registry..
Why not just put a space that says " KEEP LOOOKING "
Its kinda like when you want to see a video on the internet, and now you have to wait to
WELL, AFTER 3 DAYS OF WORKING ON MY CUSTOM SET I ONLY HAVE 10 MORE COINS TO ADD TO FINISH....FOR NOW.
I TOOK SOME TIME OFF, BUT GOT THE BUG BACK SO I STARTED WORKING ON MY "BIRDS OF THE WORLD" SET. TRYING TO ADD PICS AND GETTING THE COINS IN A PLEASING ORDER IS NO SMALL TASK! VERY TIME CONSUMING!
I THINK I AM UP TO 80 BIRD COINS NOW, WITH ONLY ABOUT 10 TO ADD TO BE CAUGHT UP.
IF ANYONE LIKES BIRDS OUT THERE TAKE A LOOK AT THE SET AND LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.
TAKE CARE.

CHANNEL SURFING.
Last night, nothing on the tube so started flipping channels. WOW, I was shocked!!! A coin show on a shop at home channel. He had Lincoln cents of 2009, and a roll of wheats and a 1909 VDB. He went on and on and said the wheat roll was a $50 value the 1909VDB a $50 value, and the 2009 was I think, $399, down from $499.
WHAT???
I have many 1909VDB cents that are in a whole lot better condition than his, and rolls of wheats I wish I could get $50, And I have Boxes of 20
Did wheat pennies not stop with 1958?
Today while sorting some of my wheat cents I came across a 1959 no mint mark wheat cent. Is this a mint error or am I wrong in thinking all Wheaties stopped in 1958?
Any help would be helpful.
Happy collecting and may God Bless...Mike

As a lover of classic coins this news gives me something to cheer about!
I know that a lot of collectors are partial to collecting our currently circulating coins which feature busts of Presidents Lincoln, Jefferson, Roosevelt, Washington, and Kennedy. However, with the exception of type coins, I am not among them. I have often bemoaned the the passing of what I think were fabulously artistic coins featuring various renditions of Lady Liberty. Now for people like me there is a glimmer of hope
And it will anchor my 19th Century Type Set
Just added this NGC MS66 Star 1884CC Silver Dollar to anchor my 19th Century Type Set . I could not resist the obverse crescent blue rainbow toning this coin exhibits as it suits my eye and fits well with many of the toned 19th century pieces in my sets. In contrast to the obverse, the reverse of this coin is blast white. I assume with toned CC pieces that there is a slightly higher premium for nice "obverse only" toning compared to "reverse only" to
