TeleTrade too auction 2nd finest graded NGC 1955 Double Die Lincoln Wheat Cent

Makes my eyes cross. Hi everyone. In this Sunday's TeleTrade auction they are listing the 2nd finest graded NGC 1955 Double Die. It is only one of 2 examples graded at MS66 with this one graded MS66RB. Now this would be a dream coin for a lot of us Lincoln collectors too say the least. From the pictures I cannot tell if this coin meets the RB standard anymore but still a very impressive example of this error date Lincoln. With a starting price of $21,000 it is out of my ballpark for now.

Interesting find during my latest trip to Northern New York

I am certain I have a -- one of a kind -- out of a Gazillion Cent pieces. Whenever I travel I look for some out of the way shop that sell coins. The dustier the place, the more fun I end up having, looking for coins. This time while visiting Northern New York I came across a consignment booth that had nearly 500 cardboard flipped sealed coins, in a bin container. God Works in mighty ways

4 day stay in the hospital will changes a man I had the misfortune to spend Sunday Afternoon until 1 pm today in the hospital, with what they first thought was congestive heart problems now this will scare the holy heck out of even a God loving 52 year old man like myself. ANACS on eBay

I know NGC and PCGS are the top tier coin graders. I'm not sure how familiar everyone is with eBay's policies for selling graded coins. NUTSHELL: In the past, coins couldn't be listed as "certified" nor could they be listed with a numeric grade unless they were graded by NGC or PCGS (or NCS, and appropriate details grade). Never seen this before Greetings once again my fellow collectors. I sent in a 1881 CC and 1883 CC, both GSA Hoard types... I won these recently as part of my quest to get the CC GSAs for my custom set. What is a Coin Worth?

I guess the Answer is it Depends on the Buyer In a recent post wdrob brings up the interesting question as to the value of a coin. His argument is that selling a coin below the Grey Sheet value reduces the overall value of a coin. This is probably true over the long term. Of course the reverse is also true. I have seen many sales of high grade Roosevelt Dimes go above the Grey Sheet value. Such sales would over time likely raise the Grey Sheet value. In the end isn't the Grey Sheet value simpl

Fellow members and 5 star General silver dollars I just completed a deal with a fellow member. The experience was great. He was very patient with me as I was having a little difficulty getting funds lined up. After everything was said and done, the coins are on their way, he sent me serial #s and pics so I can put them in my registry now. What the heck !!! I was just searching E Bay and what makes a proof 70 5 star Gen half graded by PCGS go for over $600 and a proof NGC go for under a $100. Is there that much difference ? Surprise at my local bank today.

Turned 50 Cents into eight dollars. For giggles, I visited one of my local banks and asked for rolls of quarters. On a whim, I also asked if they had any 1/2 dollar rolls. The teller, who I did not know, told me that she had none. The teller next to her, however, stated that she had only four 1/2 dollar coins. I've never had an issues when dealing with a CS member. Most of us who have been collecting for a while have been burned a time or two. Sometimes it is caused by our own desires to find a hidden treasure, an undiscovered prize or a coin of value at a nice price. There is quite a bit of discussion that takes place complaining about eBays fees, shill bidding, proxy bidding, and disagreements with certain eBay policies. It is my personal belief that these problems can not be corrected without an alternative auction house option. Complaining to eBay will do nothing and the rates are going to rise regardless. eBay has to do everything it can to satisfy it's stock holders so you end up with the current environment that you have now. Great day to be a collector of modern coins

2013 starting out to be a great year I sent in my new 2013 Proof set to NGC for grading. And today I received the results and was blown away 9 out of 14 were perfect PF 70 UC with the other 5 PF 69 UC that's the best grading results for a single proof set I've ever had.
