That's interesting. I was not aware that the 1890-? Morgan dollar was smaller than either the 1900 Morgan or the 1924-? Peace.
We all shrink a little the older we get.

Welcome Stvnnvts .The 1924 and the 1890 from what I can see without a close up look like light scratches all over. They may have been cleaned and the 1900 looks like it was in a house fire. I cant see past the smoke, Sorry

When the story is false, the coin must stand on its own merits.
Well I am not a authority on the story or the coin so I can not judge. But I like them both.

Ya the zinc pennies are all different looking some are bumpy, wavy or grainy like wood. There are some that are key dates to look for but that is another subject for you to check out.

Wow! That confirms it! It is counterfeit
Very disappointed but I knew you all could help me! Contacting seller.
I am sorry you got a bad coin. I had a feeling it was and I knew if Roger got to look at it he would put the hammer down. It was way to nice to be real. I hope the dealer will fix it for you. You did the right thing by checking with the people here

There are many Knowledgeable members here. I am not in the same league as most of these guys. I know enough to get myself in trouble LoL... I have been saving ( Not collecting ) coins starting in the 60s when I was a paper boy, Silver had just been changed to craperclad and I tried to save anything good but when you are poor and hungry it all spends the same. I always dabbled but never could bring myself or my budget ( 4 Girls cost a small fortune ) to invest in coins. I always saved what looked offbeat or silver but not enough. Now that I have retired and (my wife likes coins) I am really getting into shopping the odd ball places and Coin Dealers looking for deals. I also built a nice Proof set collection of odd years. My BS ASE collection, and working on Morgan's mostly the cheaper ones $300 or less and any slab coin that is a good deal to me is buying at 30% to 40% off of asking price or list price.

Laser-engraved dies maybe or a very harsh cleaning. Either way I agree, fake.
There are lines on the bust also Mike, which would be recessed on the die and would not get scratched when touching up a die. Also some of the letters on the reverse. The U in United and E.P on E. Pluribus are very fat in spots. I think RWB may have a thought or two on this coin.

I was able to zoom in close with my PC and the patina looks wrong on the surface of the obverse it has some flow lines running horizontal. On the reverse the sun ray in the ONE is not long enough ? There is a antique dealer down the road from my house that also has a half dozen Peace dollars in the same type holders 1923s and 24s all like new for $47.00 each. I'm not saying they are fake I have never looked at them close but I always wonder about them ????

Well I went through 4 rolls of WCD and I got 4 keepers.
Yes 4 quarters out of 160 the coin design is just begging to be nicked and scratched. This is one of the 4 . I was surprised to see how many of the coins had Die polishing marks on them I guess if you make a coin with to much detail the die must get worn out a lot faster

Wow, I have yet to get one either by getting change or the last two quarter rolls at the bank. I did, however buy a roll from the mint and a few on EBay for my grandson. So JP hang on to a roll or two. I think they will become an item!
Hard to say what will be ? It is the lowest mint count in 10 years they say 288 mil for both 2021 coins. If I keep any rolls I wont be able to get replacements the bank will not sell any rolls. I can only swap with what I have . I may have to roll some of my tray coins to keep up the roll hunting.

Yes....it was $175 from the Mint. Plus $4.95 shipping.
So $90 a piece For a proof is ok I guess. The last ASE proof I got was a 2008 for $60 in May
