Well I wish you luck with this coin. I for one do not think you have worn out your welcome Jblindy. What the heck I ask questions with bad wording all the time because I am a dam Yankee from New England The only other thing that makes me pause is that both sides of the coin are toned. It does happen. I have some gold toned Nickels but the blue always makes me wonder if it is artificial toning. just trying to cover all the bases you may already know about.

If it’s an AU coin, no, I wouldn’t be interested in buying it. If it’s BU, the answer is yes.
I was thinking the same thing about the angle, considering the reverse is straight on, but it could be that they were trying to capture the most color. I’ve already asked for more pictures.
I also don't trust ungraded CC I understand they are copied a lot to my knowledge.

I literally do not believe you. Either you have shown two different coins, or you are so incompetent with a camera that you don’t even blow off whatever that shmutz was to the left of the 1. Tridmn, I’m forced to say I don’t believe ANYTHING you say.
Some people like to play games? Why when everyone here is only trying to help...The coins I see are in 2 different holders so they look like 2 different coins to me. Maybe the magnification makes it look that way.

Thanks JP et al ! I’m great full to have the 1921 NGC MS63 and the 1922 peace NGC MS63, so maybe I’ll just sell this on on eBay for $75 and call it a win!
Bill
Keep it as a reminder to look for the ware on the high spots it is not easy to see all the little things like the veins on the leaves on the wreath or the talons are worn off. The cotton balls or the hair around the ear are smooth it is all a learning process and you don't want to pass it on to some one who is green. Do what I do I have a coin that was cleaned I paid $30 for and is just melt so I let the kids hold it and hand it around if they drop it I can sleep at night.. LoL

Buying raw coins is tough Bill I wanted to look at a 1922 Pease yesterday at one of the antique dealers I go to a lot. It was on a shelf in a small zip bag. I asked if he thought it had been cleaned it was only $29 I took it out of the bag and gave it a look with my loupe and it had more scratches than a flea farm dog. Needless to say it is still on the shelf.

Wow it sounds like a big investment. I would slow down to a crawl unless you are in a hurry to flip the coins ? It would be best to take some advice from the members here it could save you a lot of headaches. Coins that are in holders most of the time are ok but raw coins can be tricky you may want to weigh and post pictures here for advice on some of the coins. One coin at a time with clean shots of the obverse and reverse please.

If it is copper plated zinc coin and just like how on the face of a lot of the coins it gets that wood grain look from being plated it happens on the edges also. It also could have gone for a short ride in a dryer. there are lots of ways and things that can mark up a coin.

Processing like Cheese or a fine wine. Aged to perfection. Maybe even some toning going on.

Wow that is amazing getting a job photographing coins for a auction house and only needing a phone camera.

Maybe I did not look out on the right place for information, the coin is worn yes, it's been in a jar for years, and Im practically new on this, I apologize for not doing homework and I appreciate your comment. Will try next time. Than you sr.
Welcome Vero, You are doing fine and you have to ask questions or you will never know. The coin is very common and I agree it is a cool coin but most of us feel it would have to be worth around $150 before we would send it out for grading and even then only if you want to sell it. your coin although almost 100 years old may be worth $30 give or take.

Cool stuff Bill, You may want to check Heritage out tonight , they have some nice coins.

Ok.... let's put coins aside for a moment (just a short moment)..... When will I have the privilege of an invite to come metal detecting on your property?????
Funny you should say that. I am the Chair of Trustees at my church and last week some people came by wanting to use a metal detector on the grounds. My church is in the National Register of historical sites. Being 275 years old with a cemetery that people in the old days would put coins on the grave stones. So I would think there are colonial coins all over the place, if it has not been searched already. Needless to say I told them no. I think it would be a bit disrespectful.

I would be happy with just the WAM and call it a day.

Actually J P, there are only 19 grades 'in-between' 45 and 65...... just sayin...... OK brother.... I am very bored and couldn't resist, just pokin some fun at ya....lol. And yes, it is a nice coin.
You are correct my friend. And I am way off if we go by the new NGC grades of MS 65 MS 65 * MS 65 + and MS 65 + * .... That would be a potential of 79 extra grades Now that makes it way more fun to price a coin.

Very true, and this set is required to be submitted unopened, so I can't check the coins first.
Well that is dumb you cant look at your own coins? What if the mint sent you Wooden Nickels you would never know.

No idea. Naturally if they all grade out at pf70, there's some premium to be recouped, and the limited 50k mintage helps, but having to pay almost $250 just to get them graded (and as you mentioned, seeing the sets on eBay for not much more than cost) is not very encouraging.
That is the downfall they may only grade 68 or 69 and that would be a big disappointment not to mention the money out of pocket.

Very cool I don't have any mint sets after 99 the US mint just seam to be going marketing crazy. With a lot more stuff to buy.

Personally I would think any coin that comes in its own packaging should stay that way if possible to keep its collectability intact.
