There are lots of cents with a full strike that weight 3.01. this could be a reversed caped die strike coin

Yup it has a bunch of things wrong with it. None of it makes it's worth more than 25 cents. Just fun things to find

I think this thread is getting too long and confusing. I would suggest starting a new thread for every coin you want to post Halbrook.

Thank you very much. You gave me something to think about. Going to a coin dealer is a great idea. I'm not sending in 1 coin, but 5, maybe a few more. There's a lot more to the grading process than I ever imagined. I have quite a bit to learn here.
Have great night!
Yes , most of the members think it unwise for someone new to submit coins for grading. If you cannot grade a coin yourself, you may be spending a great deal of money to find out why your coins are not as nice as you think they are?

Coin worth getting graded?
It would be hard to say from the pictures posted, Is the coin worth more than $200 or is it a special coin to you then yes, if you want to go for it

I see no reason to change the holder unless you are trying to sell it or put it in a registry set.

Slow down bud. LoL one coin at a time. Coin 1 and 3 are errors coin 2 is hammered damaged or whatever not an error

It looks psychedelic man, Cool like it's from the 70's I bet if you put it in some acetone a lot of that junk will come off but the coin is not worth the time to do anything with it.

Worn out die with flow lines sometimes they can be very reflective and give a false appearance of a nice coin when it is not. (Hit the button at the same time Stang)

It's to bad it is a pocket coin, the 98 is one of the lower mintage ASE so it is a bit scarcer.

Welcome , you have what we call a dryer coin, not an error coin. The coin has been damaged from rubbing something in a circular motion. AKA Dryer Coin

Yes I know it's burnished, it is not the same guys, I was just having fun. I think everything is overpriced.

Does the coin look thinner than normal. I was wondering if you have put this coin on a scale to see what the weight is.
Is this 1965 Quarter Valuable?

I would also like to say that many of these 1965 coins were saved by many people fresh from the bank. These clad coins were something new in 1965 and I bet there are shoe boxes of this date coin all over the country. Some day they will come out of the closet.
