  1. Hi kerisinc ....Hard to tell from just one picture but It looks like a stain from another coin that was on top of this one.
  2. Welcome kerisinc ..I have been roll hunting forever and I have found a couple and a lot of other strange items but they were not anything to write home about. Keep hunting it's fun. You will find something it may not be a 55 but ya never know.
  3. Well I have been so busy with my nickels I have been neglecting my Morgan collection. Plus with the 100th anniversary for the Morgan all the prices have gone way up. It is not as easy to get a deal anymore. Now I have said to myself If needed a 1921 I would never pay more than $40 for a 1921 in the past they were a dime a dozen but not any more. Well I found this nice MS 62 it has some marks and dings but not bad for a 62 So anyway I broke my own rule and bought it for $41
  4. Some more good deals to add to the Full Set Registry. Two are FS the other was a toned one,. If I can't find a FS coin I will go for a toned coin any day.
  5. Ya that shot is all you would ever need. Good one.

  9. Ya it is a odd one. I wonder where Greg is? He would have something to add to it . I have not seen him post lately I hope he is ok.
  10. For un-slabed coins I use the AirTite holders and put them in a wooden cigar box. for slabed coins I just put them in the slab case
  11. This one is a little newer looking than the last one. To me these new ones are a far stretch from the old time DD's but it still has all the markers. Fat numbers and letters and the die chip above the N . So if Vista says its a DD who am I to say it is not
  12. Not like FUBAR , But we could call it FUCAC that would be F%#Ked UP COIN AFTER CLEANING
  13. The mint started making the bicentennial coins in 1975 in anticipation of a high demand.
  14. I can say that I have never seen a ( IKE I LIKE ) not enough hair like a Franklin and to much Field to damage. If you can find a good one in the wild it is very rare.
  15. Welcome CVille. It can be a fun hunt at VamWorld if you want it to be. It will take a while to get used to how to single out all the variety's of all the samples available. In the end it will be worth the effort if you have the time and patience to put into it.
  16. I see the old red quarters all the time. It reminds me of the Pinball Arcade before the ATARI games filled the room.
  17. I look at it this way, all of the Seasoned Veterans have all the bases covered . The new players come from the YouTube generation where everything is free and anyone can be a millionaire without any effort. If we can help with our knowledge this hobby's integrity may still have a chance. I look and listen to what they have to say it can be fun if you keep it light hearted , I try to help and sometimes it is a loss, but we as veterans at least put forth the effort. I think your presence here is a great asset to numismatics and I for one would miss you words of wisdom and humor. I would hope you will reconsider after reading all the comments we have left for you here. If you must leave then I wish you all the best Tom.
  18. In a month I will be heading to my daughters house in TN for a winter vacation. They start to warm up in March, well I hope they do its not to nice up here until May.,,,, Dang , I just looked out the window and it is snowing again.
  19. Thanks , I have been getting some great deals or it would not be going very far. It seams like a lot of people are buying nickels now days. I do a lot of running around but it is worth it in the end.
  20. My two NGC 1953 D and S came in today. Now I have all three they are not FS but they were all basement price so that's nice.
  21. I am not a collector of these coins but looking at the devices and dental it all looks off to me. It's to fat or puffed up. Just my opinion. Someone here with more knowledge on these could give you a better idea.
  22. It looks like something is going on Die Deterioration, MD maybe. Take a look here Hinkle and check the other locations, like the date. http://varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/1969SDDO002.htm
