  1. Like we talked about before unlike bullion when a older coin goes up in price it will stay up there for a long time unless something drastic changes, All of the Classic Silver Commemoratives are up, not so much the Moderns.
  2. I keep looking at the rim and it has the same look as the fields and that bothers me. Like someone sand blasted it to cover up or hide something.
  3. I shop commemoratives a lot and they were cheap about a year ago but in the last six months everyone is bidding on them and pushing up the prices more. I find I have to look a lot harder for good deals on any coins lately.
  4. I think Kurt is correct if you are trying to sell to a dealer.. If you sell privately or at auction you may get a better return. Every dealer I talk to hate gold and silver bullion graded or not most only keep it in there shop to please there regular customers.
  5. I would think any common coins like my collection of ASE's, Morgan's or Nickels will not bring in anything major. There are not a lot of specialty coins. Gray sheet and less a percentage of some kind I am sure so the dealer can resell easier.
  6. Yes Congrats I am glad it graded higher than I guessed ..LoL
  7. I commented also it is just the font they used?
  8. Thanks Guys I am trying, I went a little crazy this week getting 6 but they were just the right price. I had to post this one by itself .... It is my first Blue Nickel
  9. Another batch of nickels came in today. Nothing rare but I was able to find a nice 48S, 69D and a 65 that wasn't a SMS ..LoL Also that 39s over 40 I got last week moved me into the top 100 sets on the NGC Registry and I am happy about that.
  10. I have found some pre 1982 coppers that are quite bronze or gold colored. Copper can take on many different shades from whatever environment it is has been exposed to.
  11. I agree there is a lot of hype out there. Don't get me wrong I love my ASE's I have all the years and two MS70's in slabs and a proof only because they were not much over spot and a good deal for there dates. It is a really nice Raw Coin Set. I hand picked them for all for the kids, grandchildren and great grand children. I would call them all MS. But in the end they are not worth what I was hoping they would be in my lifetime. If I were to sell them today I may get $30 a piece if I am lucky. Oh sure some of the dates are worth more but a dealer would not want to pay more unless it was in a PCGS or NGC slab maybe. Remember to most dealers it is only bullion and he has to resell them to pay his bills. Wow look at me ranting off track LoL.................. What Coinbuf said is all you need.... .........LoL
  12. Sorry to hear your coin did not do well. If you don't mind giving up a percentage I am sure you can sell it through one of the auctions. There are people who do buy detail coins all the time.
  13. There should be a new design coming out soon, Dr Sally Ride is the next lady. It looks a little better.
  14. It was a good piece and was very cheap like me lol. Still it was a common date coin. After thinking about a investment of 2k I have resided to wait and see if I can find something in my travels. I kinda want a coin that will be nice to look at more than just a piece of metal. It is not like I am going to buy up a bunch of gold. Just looking for offbeat stuff like one of each denomination or series for there design and looks is more my style. I am happy with a lot of the online purchase's and deals I have found. None of my coins are big collectibles just a poor working man collection. A pinch of Nickel here a dash of Morgan there is the way I cook. I think for me finding that just right Morgan or Eagle will most likely be a in hand coin sale. Call me crazy but it is that old fashion coin collector thing in me. You all have been a big help and I appreciate your knowledge, guidance and honesty. As I always say there is no rush it may just cost me a bit more down the road.
  15. Wow, Some very nice shots of some very fine looking coins LEM.
  16. Chris , Is there a lot of green showing on that Morgan ?
  17. Ya I have been here before I like this site, Check out the 1994 P 03 and 04 coin http://cuds-on-coins.com/jefferson-nickel-spike-heads-1938-1999/
  18. It is not worth the search she will like it.
  19. Good day for crack this one is good, both sides have cracks . My daughter gave me a big jug of change to go through to see if there was anything good before they cash it out at the coin star. So I will put these aside for her to hang on to.
  20. He said he was going to do the same as others. Sell his stuff on the internet if he wanted or needed to. I went back at Thanksgiving and his shop was gone.
  21. There are some coins with double eyes but it is one below the other most of the time. I do not see it here sorry.
