  1. Well if there were only a certain amount of dies made in 1926 then it would have to match one of them unless the MM was added later.
  2. Eagles have more value than a plain old round but I am not sure if it matters in a emergency if it is a eagle or a round and if you would even be able to buy a loaf of bread and a gallon of milk with either one.
  3. I would not grade this coin. It is hard to tell from the photo if it has been cleaned more than likely it has. If it has not it I would say a 30 but more likely a details coin. Just my opinion sorry.
  4. Well it is tough with a error it is a collectors preference like the others have said. I looked it up and NGC has it valued at $8.00 so I would say that is a good start. I think I would ask a little bit more. https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/6456753-001/63/
  5. The B looks cool but more like a step or shelf. I do not see any split serifs and it is a proof so MD is more likely and proof reflection does not help any.
  6. My best guess would be the final remains of a capped die was still stuck on the leading edge of the bust and displaced the metal to give it that funky look.
  7. Yes, I recently picked up this folder I am trying to put together for reds only. So they will have a new home until the next time.
  8. I found these in a roll. I think they must have been saved and recently sent back into the wild. They are way to nice to have been kicking around for 82 and 66 years.
  9. I knew there was the 40% silver set but I did not realize they made a business strike 40% coin also. That is what threw me off . Thanks Guys, I will have to see if I can find some hiding somewhere out there along with your coin suggestion Kurt
  10. Ok thanks Woods. See I learned something new today. That is why it looks like it has a matt finish . Cool
  11. I have a few 1975 + 1976 proofs sets that all have a S mint mark but are copper / clad. I also have the 3 piece set that is 40% silver . It has a matt frosted look to it I have not seen before. That is why I asked
  12. I see no O/CC but as Roger said it is a deal at $14
  13. Try a cell phone shot on a white background and see if that works. Other than that it is a good looking proof but not a cam.
  14. It is a nice coin. I would not send it in it would have to grade 68 to a MS70 and I do not think it would pay for itself but if you just want it then that is your choice. I have a few of these Bicentennial quarters. How do you know it is a 40% coin they made copper clad ones also ?
  15. Even so It is a good find they are not worth a lot unless it is in MS condition. I found one a few months back. It is worth at least a Nickel that much I am sure of.
  16. It is hard to tell with those photos maybe if it was a closer shot upright we would be able to see better. There are a bunch of different 1955 OMM Like Coinbuf said if you want to check here. http://www.varietyvista.com/05 JN RPMs/OMMs 1955D.htm
  17. LoL Silly me, I needed a cup of coffee before commenting on that
  18. Well I look at it this way Bill. Get what you like as long as it don't put you in the poor house. You wont be able to take it with you when you leave this place so enjoy it now brother.
  19. I have had many a chance to pick up these coins and I just can't bring myself to buy one. Sorry Bill they just look too fake like play money.
  20. I have a 3 or 4 Morgan's that have been handed down through the years and all of them have been polished. One with a wheel like yours and others that were maybe just a shirt tail wipe. It still comes down to the fact that the natural patina from when the coin was struck has been removed. I happens a lot and most people cant see it ,once you know how to look for the small lines it will be forever in the back of you mind if you collect coins.
  21. That is a good looking cent. I am not sure if you will get a error on that piece. I agree it is off center but not enough for a error. That is just my opinion I am not a coin grader just a collector.
  22. FBL = Full Bell Lines. That is what you want to look for in a Circulation Strike as RWB would say. I am old so I say Business Strike or BS
