  1. Ya ,I was even scared when I saw your post and I know you know ....LoL....
  2. I think they still use lead for bullets . A copper bullet might be a little rough on your barrel . Some have copper tips on them but mostly lead.
  3. Welcome Chrissky, Here is a few photos to compare your coin to. http://varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/DDO 1969-S.htm
  4. Welcome to the forum. I Think the first thing you may want to purchase is a nice chair to sit in. If you have that many coins to look at you are going to need to save your back side. Good Luck
  5. I wanted to make this thread just to say thank you for those who have served our country.
  6. Yes I like that 41 also it is a nice looking coin. LoL ..You know I am the lowball guy most of the time. But I find sometimes you have to look a little harder to see that it is not always a good deal.
  7. Thanks Guys, When I first started the set I was only trying for MS 64 and higher. I soon realized that most 64's were not that nice looking and if I shopped a little harder I could find MS 66 coins for the set. They look much nicer
  8. Cool those are very nice to have, looks good.
  9. I think they also made green holders for Morgan's that are even harder to find.
  10. Well I know I would be a tad upset if I sent a coin in for grading and it came back a MS - 66 so now it is worth less than the average 66 and if I have a coin I think is a 67 and send it in for a regrade and it comes back a 66 + It is not worth the regrade if I don't get that full bump between the 66 and 67. I am sure more than one person looks at a coin when there is a question but all in all I think it is to much hoopla and confusion.
  11. Thanks Neophyte Numismatist, I try to keep working on the set as best as I can and your comments, Lems and other members here help to keep my moral up. With prices climbing and more collectors out there it makes it more difficult to find the good stuff cheep. I am very happy with these coins both are hard to find at a low price and the 1950 D was a very high points coin in the registry . That one pushed me up the ladder a bit more.
  12. There is such a thing as a Black Beauty a Improperly Annealed coin . That would be a far chance that you have a overcooked coin the mint is so much better at quality control then they were in the past.
  13. I am still on the fence about the whole MS + and - thing . Coin grading is tough enough without adding a variation to it.
  14. Coin pictures are a pain in the You know what. I just took some shots of the new Nickels I posted and there is no sun out again and it took all kinds of running around to get just the right light for a true color representation.
  15. I am not partial to the coins in the Paramount holders I would rather have a graded NGC or PCGS holder. Doesn't it have to say Redfield to be a Redfield coin holder like the one Bill posted ?
  16. Two more 66 FS for the registry set came in today. I had to shell out a little more for these dates, but still did good.
  17. Ya the majority of them are MS 67 68 if you see a 69 it is rare and 70 is out there
  18. Welcome to the forum . It is all good. Sometimes we get a lot of parking lot and dryer coins looking to be sent off for grading. It can be frustrating trying to explain why a coin is what it is. You will get the truthful answer you are looking for on this forum. All the members here are more than happy to be very honest about a coin that is posted as long as it is the whole coin and both sides. It makes the grading much easier. If you hang around you will see the good the bad and the ugly.
  19. The genuine coin can't be worth that much, it has a hole in it. I think it would leak or at least whistle in a strong wind
  20. LoL ya I am still working on the regular set but if I happen upon a proof at a sweet price I will grab it. Just doing the Jefferson early set 38 to 64 is a challenge forget the proofs and SMS are killers. Good hunting Lem.
