  1. This time we are at a campground near my home. We wont be on the Big Road trip until the end of October . For the summer we camp around home there are many nice places in this area. Oh and Neo, for the first 30 years of our marriage we also camped in tents.
  2. Do not wipe your coins at all with anything they will get scratched. Cleaning is not recommended. You can hold a coin by the edges if you have no gloves just try not to touch the fields
  3. Happy Fathers Day to all you Dads out there. This is my fathers day weekend fun.
  4. It looks to be in very good shape AU maybe. Very clean ? I am always looking at these on line to buy. Many of them I see for sale as details improperly cleaned not sure why people like to clean these coins. I am not saying yours has been cleaned. It is to hard to tell from this photo. That is the chance you may be taking if you send it in for grading.
  5. This is a new on for the set. Nothing special nice coin. I was fooled on the photo on this one the cheek has a buff that did not show. You can barely see it in hand but it shows on my photo. LoL
  6. I am liking this one maybe. I picked this up for under $50. A coin is only worth what someone will pay for it I know this. Now it is a DDR PCGS has it on there guide for $275 is that to far fetched or is it in the ball park ?
  7. Finding any silver coins dated after 1965 in circulation is very rare. Some early Kennedys and Ike's are 40% silver Most would have to be from special sets or strikes that were broken out. I would recommend buying a Redbook for a reference guide to anyone who likes coins.
  8. Sorry to hear DW and my condolences to other friends and family.
  9. It is in a holder I can see no better place for it. Here is a link to your coin so you can have more info on it. https://www.ngccoin.com/certlookup/6453964-006/NGCDetails/
  10. Welcome to the site. There are a lot of these coins that have been what we call (struck through grease) Grease falls on the Die or planchet and fills in the letters or makes a void in the field of a coin . It is a fun find but not really a big error or value changer on most coins. You can see a example to the left of the sail on this coin even the guy with the hat on the boat is pointing at it.
  11. Most of you know I am working on my Jefferson Nickel collection and my MS + VAM Morgan one of every year set. I will buy anything that catches my eye... Proofs, Commemoratives, Gold. I'm kinda like a old crow that will pick up shinny things and take them to his nest.
  12. Hard to tell without a angle view that is where it is best to see the fine lines of cleaning and the coin is toned so it makes it harder to see.
  13. Wow Bill another nice looking Ben, How many slabs you have now?
  14. Nice Walker. put it in a 2x2 Saflip and put it on your desk or the bookshelf it is a keeper very nice but not a slab coin in my opinion. It would cost more than it is worth to slab it..
  15. Like I said in the other post it's a good day for coins . A nice coin. Not worth big bucks but I got it for a song and it is a nice looking 62 better than some of my 64 and 65s
  16. Today was a good day for coins. Now I normally buy the regular MS coins for the registry set like this nice 56 but I could not pass on these DCAM coins at two for $15
  17. I have been looking for a nice clean 1925 Lexington Commemorative. One that was not all toned out or rusty looking. I am very happy with this piece. Not sure why it is in the slab reversed but I think it makes it even better. It is not the same as everyone else's. I still got a deal not my usual 30 to 50% off retail but good enough for one of these coins. Every time I find one it always sells for a higher price than the price guides. I passed on a MS62 last year that was selling for a higher price than this one. I was kicking myself for not buying it then but now I am happy I waited. This is a real sharp looking MS63 by far in my book
  18. LoL I am lucky my wife is at every purchase. Or she knows what I pay for every coin. She knows the coin game that the price chart is close to high retail and not what she will get for them when I am gone. I tell her to cry a lot when she goes to sell them it may help to get a little better price.
  19. https://www.govmint.com/2022-w-1-1oz-burnished-silver-eagle-w-ogp I think it is to much money for a eagle
  20. I agree Oldhoopster looks like rim damaged folded over displaced metal the whole coin looks quite beat up to me.
  21. It looks like someone used it in a old fuse panel to replace the problem of regular fuses blowing on the circuit and it got real hot. Also could be welding rod damage from a arch welder.
