  1. I was at my local dealers shop today and I saw that he was almost out of the SMS 66 and 67 sets he had. So I figure for $10 a piece what the heck.
  2. Thanks I am getting down there I started out in March of 2021 at 450 in the NGC registry. I am down to 69 on my full set. It takes a lot of shopping around trying to get coins at 30 to 50 % of the asking price. If I had to pay full price I would be impossible for my pocketbook.
  3. Yes I agree but coins can have many different prices and variety's. So if you are a shopper you have to use both for comparisons. I just thought it was odd there is no listing in PCGS for MS 09's
  4. I was just on PCGS coin chart and there are no listings for 2009 P or D MS coins only FS ?
  5. 2009 P and D are hard to find they are on my, to find list.
  6. Sorry to hear of your situation Kevine. My best friend passed a year or so ago with Parkinson's and some other complications. I hope you will continue to post your findings here to further your numismatic enjoyment of the hobby we all love.
  7. Ya been getting up for work at 5 every day for over 50 years even in retirement it is hard to sleep in. LoL If you go to the NGC registry tab I think you can see my Nickel sets I am working on they are called JP's Nickels.
  8. Most of the time we are talking about a NGC Registry Set, CJ. I have a few sets I am working on. If you want to make one you have to use NGC or PCGS slabed coins to get the point standings. I think you can make custom sets also but I have not made one for raw coins yet.
  9. Thanks Neo, I'm just doing my best to find good looking 66s or FS coins. I will be going out searching later this week and we will see if I can find a few.
  10. That works I have made offers and some have been accepted. Good deal Bill
  11. It happens to me all the time Bill don't feel like the Lone Ranger. Most of the coins are plentiful and you will get another chance I bet.
  12. Ya I kinda like nickels. I have a few I am putting into books. Thank you for the offer if I get stuck I will give you a shout CJ.
  13. Now how can you not like this. I am just going through a roll of Jefferson's and this 61 year old VF 1961 D pops up. This is why I love to roll hunt. It is not worth more than a buck or two but it looks better than some MS slabed Nickels I have seen.
  14. No need for apologies. I have always considered myself a no BS kind of guy and I like others to say what they think. Most of the regulars know my song so I don't think I have to worry about a reputation to protect. I am a roll hunter and I collect what I can afford to pick up cheap. Until I retired I always thought of myself as a coin saver and not a collector. I never had much extra money for anything with four girls to raise. Now that I have some time I am starting to become a bit of a collector.
  15. I do not consider talking about coins a hijack in any thread, I am also sorry collecting coins doesn't make you happy. I just love finding oddities and picking up good deals on great coins for my collections. You seam to be well informed in numismatics. Do you just roll hunt or buy and sell coins also CJ?
  16. Welcome to the forum . Nice collection of coins. I am sure it took a few days to get that collection together. I have been change hunting for years and don't have a handful. LoL
  17. Don't get discouraged Kevine you are doing fine. This hobby is a never ending always changing experience. There is a lot of numismatic information out there good and bad it can be frustrating, just hang in there. We all try to help whenever possible.
  18. LoL ya there are quite a few members that have the coin books. I think I saw a photo DW Lang and a couple of others posted of a whole book cases with 4 or 5 shelves of all coin books. I never thought about putting the books together when I was younger. I was always to busy. I just put the keepers in a jug and said when I get older I will maybe go through my change and see what I have. Well I made it I am older time to make the books
  19. Ya I have two nickel folders going and one more more blue holder to start. and 3 more cent holders to fill. I already have quite a few coins I just have to start sorting and picking the best for the books
  20. They may not be the best looking cents out there but I finished the pocket change book that I picked up 1959 -2009
  21. It looks like a fake, Bill. The devices on the reverse look to puffy that's a lot of whizzing if it is a real coin.
