  1. I do not have a 2009 P or D as of yet or the 2009 SMS P + D all those years are double coins from 2005 to 2010 Four coins per year? Actually 2005 has ten Nickels for that year if you include the proofs. Here is the registry set page. It shows all the doubles way to many. https://www.ngccoin.com/registry/competitive-sets/374476/?page=5
  2. Graded MS 69s are going in and around the $100 range at auctions. I'm just going to wait for the MS 70s to drop and buy the ones I want in holders later . They will still look the same as they do now. Unless they milk spot like ASE's LoL
  3. Ya that's about the same deal my guy gave me. I thought I had a mark free one until I took a photo and it picked up what I could not see by eye ,a fine hairline buff mark. But it is going in the box with the other 37 anyway.
  4. I am sure you got a deal on your ASE I would hope anyway LoL
  5. Proof mint marks are always so bad looking. I am not sure if would even look at one unless it was something special like a 81 type 2. But it is kind close looking to that vista RPM-001. That is just my thought Hinkle. Nice shot by the way
  6. There is a tolerance + or - I have some plated coins I keep on my desk left over from a 1970s Hallmark type of display of old cents. They threw in some copper plated copper coins to dress it up more. The weight is hardly even noticeable.
  7. I see we go through the same trends a lot here ? It must be the web ? We have our plating season then a copper run with 1922 and 43 and then a lot of SD 82 D in-between and the DD everywhere posts . I love to help out the new members with the correct Information . What I want to know is who is leading them to the wishing well.
  8. LoL that would be a one in a million find Bill.... LoL ......but it does look like it is a plated coin and not the real deal. A Denver mind bag you say Ron? If it was Aluminum I would think it would not weigh the same as a copper cent?
  9. They look like Large date. Sorry the top of the 8 is to big and the 2 is not rounded on the front
  10. Thanks for asking tj96, You made me look again . Sorry guys after looking at the first shot I posted of the coins the 91-D is not half as toned as it looks. the 92-D is more toned. The phone camera is lying it is picking up a reflection somewhere. I think from the florescent desk light ? it has been raining here and I normally I take my shots in natural light. I took another shot near a led light that is a white light and the toning is almost gone. So I will post the single shots they are more realistic not as good as natural light. So there goes my (Nice pictures JP) credibility out the window.
  11. Ya I figure you guys will all bark at me for posting them after a while. I think everyone likes a deal when it comes to spending between three to ten dollar for FS coins , or any coins nowadays, LOL . Although the deals are not as common as they were 6 months ago and hardly ever for pre-1964 coins or SMS Nickels. My set will never be as nice some of the other guys or Lem's that is one amazing nickel set. Mine will be a middle of the road set If I can keep getting the good $$ deals.
  12. Another batch of slot filler FS Nickels came in today for the registry set . I have been getting three at a time lately. Not sure why it just kinda works out that way. I get my two hundred nickel coin set built a little at a time. My wife don't seam to mind to much because luckily I am getting three graded coins for under twenty bucks or less on average date ones. I love the different tone colors you can find if you shop around. Most of the time you don't see it until you put them in a lineup.
  13. I wonder about the MS scale all the time. MS 70 is simple it is perfect but depending on the denomination the range can be all over the place. I compare all coins a lot mostly for Nickels, Morgan's, Gold Eagles and Indians nothing is consistent because grading is a mater of one or two humans opinions and then it is out the door and do another one. I think the bigger coins get more of a chance to get a higher grade with damage than the smaller coins. A few marks on a large coin can get by due to size, volume and popularity helps a lot. The same markings on a small coin not so good. My MS scale Is three tiers 60 to 63 is( OK I guess) 63 to 66 ( GOOD ) 66 to 69 ( Very Nice ) Lol .. and please don't add + and - to the numbers it just makes it harder than it already is .......Again though this is one humans opinion..
  14. I picked up my new 2022 for my ASE collection from my favorite coin shop today for $35 it is not a MS70 just a BU and one is all I need.
  15. I think the U that they used on the type 2 looks fine with the font they used. The type1 is a squarer looking font and the foot fits with that. But that is only my opinion and it is worth about as much as these ASE's that keep dropping in price ?
  16. Good point Woods. TPG have FS listings for 65,66,and 67 so that would be regular strike coins. We know they do not FS proofs and a SMS is not a proof but the TPG may grade the FS and FB as that way on a SMS coins?
  17. I think you are missing the point I was trying to make Joe. The coins you have been posting are not what you think they are. We love questions. We are trying to help you with our knowledge to save you some grief and cash that is all.
  18. Well Joe, I can say we have had new members in the past that talk fast and are set in their mind that their way is the best ? I can think of one in particular that this reminds me of someone everyone tried to help. His name was Slick.. He like you was determined that his findings were the gospel. There are a lot of knowledgeable members here who will help you out but you may have to hear things you don't want to. If you take to heart there comments it may help you gain some valuable insight to true numismatics.
  19. I agree with Bob and it has a hard hit on the steps not sure if it will pass as FS
  20. Hi Joe, I think we should start out a little slower. I would not want you to be spending good money sending out coins that will come back in body bags. Where do you see a DDO or a DDR
  21. Good luck with your submissions Joe. Most SMS coins do not grade to high. I have quite a few 76er's and if you have a 1976 DDR I can't wait to see that one, that may cover the cost of submission.
  22. Joe, SMS are BS coins and most are not full steps. Proofs are considered full steps when submitting so they do not mark them with a FS on the label. I wish you well on your submissions getting a MS 68 with any nickel is a real ta-do.
  23. Sorry to say Joe I do not see doubling other than maybe on the last shot some MD by the ponytail on the obverse. The coin is quite beat up also so it will cast strange reflections of light. Even if it was a major DD it would have to be a extra special quality coin to be worth anything. But it is always a welcome site to see new members asking questions and this place has many qualified people to help you out. So keep looking and you never know what you may find. Like I said I roll hunt all the time and see many coins that a lot of times are not what they seam to be.
  24. I would also prefer to buy from a dealer or a show but trying to build a Nickel set that is not a exceptional or rare set would be crazy hard to find pieces and very time consuming. So I do a lot of looking online.
  25. It don't matter what it is worth it is cool just to have them from your dad.
