Greenstang got a reaction from GoldFinger1969 in Seeing Things from the Other Side of the Table
Nice to hear things from the other side. I think a lot of sellers expect dealers to pay nearly full price for coins not realizing that the dealer has to make a profit too. I know when I have sold some coins to my dealer, ( manly because I couldn’t be bothered with selling them individually) I am happy with the 60% trends that I get.

If you are referring to the face, that is Machine Doubling.
Anything else, please specify as we are not good at guessing.

Photo is too pixilated.
Do not use screen shots.

Why not just leave it in the betzel, the value is in the platinum due to it probably being damaged from being in mounted.

Greenstang got a reaction from GoldFinger1969 in REQUESTING HELP TO VERIFY IF COINS ARE GENUINE ERROR COINS
Not an error, that is a plating bubble.
If you want to see what real errors are, study how coins are minted because it is only an error if it happens during the striking of the coin and also go to a sight like error- ref.com and study that forum.
You can post partial photos as long as a complete photo accompanies it.

OP
Perhaps you should learn how coins are minted.
Mint employees do not try to “ fix “ coins.
It can only be an error if it happens during the actual striking of the coin
and what you have could not have happened at that time.

Greenstang got a reaction from Coinbuf in 1964 special Mint Strike Penny !
Babba Beck
Overkill on the photos, a full shot of each side and maybe one or two closeups would have been sufficient.
Whatever leaves you to believe that is an SMS Cent? It is a nice looking 1964 business strike.

Greenstang got a reaction from Coinbuf in Coin 1961
Your heading says 1961 coin, your write up says 1995, you show a 1993 cent.
Whatever you are seeing just can’t happen during the striking of a coin. As I stated in your other post, learn how coins are minted and then you can save time from looking for things that just aren’t there.

Greenstang got a reaction from Sandon in 1968 on Canada PL or DPL registry
That is due to the fact that the last Canadian PL sets were struck in 1967.
There were no PL coins after that.
What 1968 coin are you referring to?

Greenstang got a reaction from Coinbuf in What tier
Sorry but I looked at every photo and do not see any true errors. I see plating blisters, linear plating bubbles.
and the start of a ridge ring on some of them. You are going to have to be more specific on what you think is.
an error and we will tell you if you are right or wrong. I don’t see anything there that is worth more than 1 cent.
Did you look at the website error-ref.com as suggested to see what an actual error looks like.

Greenstang got a reaction from RonnieR131 in What would a dealer pay for 1964 Kennedy Proof 68 Cameo QDR (fs-802)
I went by your original picture which was a PF Cameo 1967.
For a 1968 the price is $1750.00. It does not break down the price for varieties so it could be more.
There are 277 certified with that grade and 46 graded at PF68 Cameo

Greenstang got a reaction from RonnieR131 in What would a dealer pay for 1964 Kennedy Proof 68 Cameo QDR (fs-802)
The NGC price for a 1964 Accent Hair PF67 Cameo is $500.00.
Hard to say what you would get at auction, it could be more, it could be less.
Expect a dealer to give you 50-60% of that.

Greenstang got a reaction from Sandon in Possible error on a 1958 D Lincoln penny
Welcome to the Forum.
Not an error, up until 1989, the mint marks were hand punched into the striking die so anywhere below the date
and to the right of the coat is acceptable. Every coin struck from that die would be the same until it was retired.
-
Greenstang got a reaction from zadok in Help with Guatmalan coin
Welcome to the forum.
The cost off getting it graded would far exceed the value of the coin.
Die cracks do not really add that much of a premium as they are part of the minting process.
Put it in a 2x2 and add to your collection.

Greenstang got a reaction from Hoghead515 in 1982 D Aluminum? Lincoln penny
If it was aluminum, you could tell by feeling the weight. An aluminum cent weighs about .9 g, a copper would be 3.11g.
Also there have been many high school experimental coins posted on here. It was quit common in the 50’s to coat them with mercury or nickel.

Welcome to the Forum
Not a Doubled Die, that is Machine Doubling.
I read on another site that about 70% of the coins in that series have some sort
of Machine Doubling so it may be harder to find one without it.
-
Greenstang got a reaction from Sandon in Coins I like an opinion on
Photo is out of focus but it is probably a partial Grease Filled Die.
Not uncommon and adds no value to the coin.
