I own 2 circulated brown 1969 s ddo pennies with minor scratches that are the real deal. NGC will only do a details grade on scratched coins an PCGS will do what they call a no grade on scratched coins. I'm ready to sell these 2 coins. Do I submit the coins or not. Some direction, advice or suggestions from you, the experts would be appreciated. My name is Donnie an I'm only 8 months in. Still green no doubt. Lol

If you are satisfied with the coin that is what matters, however you asked.   While you did not lose much here the coin is worth $30 dollars (to me) give or take depending on the silver spot prices.   Keep in mind that I do not care about varieties or VAM's so I only consider the base coin value.   Also, when you buy problem coins all you have done is buy someone else's problems, I don't think you lost much with this one but making a habit of buying problem coins could leave you with an empty wallet and little to show for it.   It is usually much harder to sell a problem coin once you need to do so.

Just some food for thought, coins that spend time in the ground can be affected by the acidity of the soil.   As you bought this from a farmers estate it is entirely likely that he recovered it from underground.   Nobody is accusing you or anyone else of cleaning the coin, only that it has a look of a dipped coin which it could have obtained from something other than a dip.
Tou have a cool coin and it is amazing to see what is still out there in the wild hiding in tin cans.

The problem is that what Bill posted is not for 5FS coins, that chart is for non FS coins.

The most recent auction sale for an NGC 5FS was last year and it hammered at $240.   There are currently 2 NGC 5FS examples on collector corner by two separate dealers each asking $395.   I don't have access to a bluesheet, but from the data I can see my guess is that most dealers might be offering around $225, perhaps up to $250 if the dealer has a way to flip it quickly.   It really comes down to what kind of clients each dealer has access to and how quickly he/she might be able to move the coin.

Those marks are not planchet errors, those are damage from coin rolling/wrapping machines.   Which explains why you see so many like that.

Bought this at the same time as my newest US coin addition.  Like that this coin is largely bought for the now defunct Blanchard holder.  But I also really like this design and almost pulled the trigger on a similar silver coin last year.   My patience was rewarded with this gold coin.

Its worth exactly twenty five cents, if you want to spend $30 to slab something that will still be worth a quarter that is your call.

Sandon is correct, the holo rev label is on the outside of the slab.   The slab is fine and not tampered with, the holo is just scratched.

I finally got around to ordering the proof and reverse proof sets for 2023 earlier this week. Now Im caught back up. I wish they would have kept putting the reverse proofs in individual packaging like they done withe the first few. Made them more interesting in the packs with the fun little facts on the OGP. It was fun and interesting for kids anyways. Kinda ruined it putting them all 4 in the same case with no details that inspired the designs. Just my opinion anyway.

I really like the innovation dollar series. Its a great series to collect. Espically great for people on a budget. I have all the proof and reverse proof sets so far except for 2023. Im getting ready to order them in a couple days. Had a good little run of bad luck past few months. I got to where I can start working on my collection again. Ill probably order them this evening.

Coinbuf reacted to Sandon in 1960 D Lincoln Penny Obverse Lamination that peeled
Based on its depth and texture, I think that this coin more likely shows a "strikethrough" of foreign matter on the die or planchet than a planchet lamination. See https://www.error-ref.com/?s=struck+through.   Conceivably, the matter that this coin was struck through was a lamination that had fallen from another coin, although that would be impossible to determine.
Strikethroughs, like planchet laminations, are quite common on both modern and older U.S. coins and generally aren't worth much of a premium unless they create a piece with a spectacular appearance. (As I have stated before, if you enjoy collecting these sorts of anomalies, you are welcome to do so, and it won't cost much if you collect them out of pocket change.) I have a forum topic about a strikethrough found on a number of (but not all) examples of a specific die variety of 1856 large cent. See 1856 Large Cent Mystery - US, World, and Ancient Coins - NGC Coin Collectors Chat Boards.
About a year ago, I purchased at auction, an 1874 copper-nickel three cent piece with a noticeable obverse "strikethrough" at the top of Liberty's coronet. The coin is NGC graded MS 64 but has no error attribution, which would have cost $18, and it might or might not have been attributed. I paid a favorable price for the coin based on its date and grade, perhaps because most date or type collectors would prefer such a coin without the strikethrough.  Note the resemblance of the strikethroughs on this coin from 1874 as well as the 1856 large cents to the one on your 1960-D Lincoln cent.

Not to be the debbie-downer in the group, but from your photos those coins look to have some PVC damage.   I would suggest that if you have a local coin shop that you have worked with before and trust you have them look at these.   Sending coins to TPG's is expensive especially when you get details grades in return.
