Just Bob got a reaction from GoldFinger1969 in U.S. coins do not have "wire edges"
How could it be "extra" gold? All of the planchets were the same weight and size before striking - within tolerance, of course. It would just be gold that was in a different place than it should have been.
If the "fin" is called a "wire" anything, it should be "wire rim." The edge is not affected, since it is inside the collar. But the term "wire rim" could imply a different method of manufacture, as opposed to a "normal rim," which was not the case. So, "fin" seems like the most perspicuous choice.

It is possible that he did not die, but that this medal was to commemorate his retirement on September 16, 1943, after 25 years of service.
Also, Kerkrade was the location of one of the mine shafts. From the linked article:
In1797production stopped on the slopes of the Worm valley, and a new shaft was built on thePlateau of Kerkrade in Holz. (Sic)

Now, to me this is super interesting ! I have not researched to find the year that Lauer created this Spiel but looking close it echoes the
1879 New York Martinka & Co. NGC MS63 merchant token I bought a while back

This is the Spiel I picked up recently
Spiel Marke Counter Token Cable Car/ mundus vult decipi discipiatur
Phrase, means "The world wants to be deceived, so let it be deceived.
I am aware and did read that this shop once was owned by Houdi and he had a double
Obverse made of this token……..Martinka token ….I assume this token is put out by the merchant. Which was him at one time.

For giggles I photoshop each coin to show the size differences, simply because on or the other
    came out blurry.

First: This is a forum - a place for like-minded people to discuss items of interest. If someone chooses to just answer a question simply, without trying to instruct others, that is their prerogative. Not everyone is a teacher. Each person has the right to answer a question as simply or as elaborately as they choose, and it is not my place to try and tell them that their way is wrong or right.
Second: On this forum WE DO NOT give reasons why we think a coin is fake, other than what is blatantly obvious. Many of us believe that counterfeiters and/or sellers of counterfeit coins lurk in the background, reading posts like this to learn how to improve the look and acceptance of their fakes. The LAST thing I want to do is help a counterfeiter make a better product that might fool someone. So, brusque or not, a simple answer is all they are likely to get from me.

You must have misunderstood. He wasn't saying that you need to post pictures of your coins. Oh, no, he was saying you actually have to share your coins with us. It's a rule that new members, especially those who work for major coin dealers, have to send out free samples to all of the other members.
