Already making room for it....
Greetings!
I don't think there has been a coin that I have had such mixed feelings about than the "reverse of" Silver Eagle.
I remember when NGC first announced the finding on the web site here, I was excited as I did have a raw SAE 2008 coin in my drawer where I keep my coins, which is upstairs from my computer...I RAN upstairs to see if maybe I had one of these very rare coins.
I did not have one.
So, I was disappointed, but I still did have a
That's 2.2 lbs of pure .9999 gold all in 1 coin!!
The price is around $45k in US dollars. Maybe I can win the lottery this weekend and have enough to buy one of these babies!! Would it not make a great conversation piece?
To be, or not to be? We'll have the answer shortly!
Hello fellow collectors!
Well, I went and did it.
I sent out 8 of my Sacagawea PF 70 set to PCGS for crossover grading.
It may take up to 30 days for the results. They don't have the turn-around times like NGC.
My PCGS membership......yes, I am a member there too, allows me 8 free submissions. I took advantage of all 8.
I know there are some that do not like having PCGS slabs in the Society's Registry.
I bought the coins for one
2009 Utra High Relief Gold
Received an E-Mail from the U.S. Mint and they cancelled my ordered, because they couldn't process it! They invited me to resubmit.
Did they cancell because I already have one? The web site didn't say one per person or family.
Oh well, live and learn
WOW...The Denver mint is still only .7 Mil??
US Mint just updated their coin mintage thus far for 2009. It is very hard to believe there is still only .7 million of the 2009 SAC "D"'s.

Looked in my change from the day
Hey,
Just got home and was putting my change away and found a 1964 Washington quarter! It has been years since I have found one of these.
It still has a little frosty look on the reverse! Very good details on obverse.
Just wanted to share the thought. Have a good day(night).
Be well,
Todd
Some things become possible.
I've been sitting back and thinking about the way some of my sets have been built and how my projects have progressed. It hit me that there are some things I never could have done, or could not have done as easily, without the help of some people in this community. This seems to become particularly true of special sets and projects which involve uncommon or uncommonly graded coins. It therefore seems particularly true of signature sets.
Because of deals I'm invol
Was watching Saturday
While I was watching the Coin Collector on Saturday, they had on 2009 D.C. and U.S. Territories Quartes Proof SILVER, for sale. I said I've been checking the US Mint web site just about everyday and I haven't seen them. So I checked the Mint website again and sure enough there they were.
So, I quickly ordered 2 sets of the Territories Quarters SILVER. The Mint said they were in stock. I can't tell you how many orders I have on backorder from the Mint when they said the
1897S half is quite rare and its a nice one !

Had to have it, offer accepted so its mine
Sell what ya don't need
Well my auctioneers finally got their new store running & had the auction on my coins that sat there for 2 months. I guess it was a good thing because the coins I purchased 6 months ago sold for more than 30% over what I paid for them. Maybe because of bad stock investments people are turning to coin investments. Whatever the situation I sure am pleased to have sold what I didn't need anymore at a profit. "I love this hobby".
HAPPY COIN COLLECTING
New submissions & old obsessions...
Greetings Collectors,
The remodel business seems to be booming here in NE Fl. and because of that I seem to be "making the payroll" down south in Sarasota. Wednesday I mailed three separate submissions to NGC which as of this post have not yet been received by them.
Almost all of my last half dozen have been on the modern tier and I must have stared at the differant tiers for twenty minutes to try and get the prices lower but finally just bit
So many coins, so little MONEY!!
Greetings!!
I have to say the recurring theme for me in regards to coin collecting is the fighting off of the desire to buy every single new coin that the Mint offers me.
The mintages of new types of coins this year seem to be more sparse as in the past 2 years..and for me, this is a good thing.
I remember when I started collecting coins in 2007, Mr. Moy kept presses on day and night it seemed. And as a new collector with not quite a path chosen othe
time for something new
It took almost 3 weeks to arrive but I finally got my 1943 Mercury Dime in the mail today. It seems almost anti-climatic.
Usually I get 3 seperate thrills from a new acquisition...the first comes at the moment of winning the auction or finding the coin that fits the criteria for my set. The second (smaller) thrill comes when I enter the coin into that blank registry slot, or upgrade the slot. I enjoy watching the points and/or ranking increase. The third thrill is when
Is there really that high of a demand for silver bullion this year?
Almost every collector of Proof and Uncirculated Silver Eagles has been patiently waiting for the Mint to announce the release dates for these coins. The Mint has stated that the production of all collector strikes of the Silver Eagles have been put on hold due to the high of a demand for silver bullion this year.
I don?t think so!
There is always a high demand for bullion Silver Eagles every year. The Mint produces millio
New coin today
Hey,

Have a great day!!!!!!

Discover the hours of pure fun you will have assembling one of these sets!
I thoroughly enjoy building registry sets. I have been collecting for more than 30 years and just ?discovered? registry sets less than a year ago when I joined Collectors Society. I started assembling competitive sets with a goal of completing a few of them with the best coins I can afford. Other sets I am targeting for healthy competition. Still others I use to store coins that buttress my overall points standing. Howe
Missing a coin, HELP
Hey,
I am trying to find a coin. Where else better to search than the society members.
Looking for a 2005 Kennedy Half PF70. NGC preferably. If anyone knows where I can look or has a spare 70 for sale (yeah Right, spare 70, )
Please let me know and I will pursue.
Thanking the community in advance for all your combined expertise and knowledge.
Stay well,

Stockholm Sweden Olympic Bronze medal
NGC came through at last and here is the final product. This has been a long wait but one I am very please to have. This medal was acquired by me through a purchase of old coins mostly foreign and at the time I had no idea what I held in my hand. There were only 19 bronze medals awarded to American athletes and this is probably one of them. Wow! It would be nice to know who won it and what the event was but I have no idea how to get that information.
A SAC star is born...
I found this error on a 2009 P SAC dollar from a bank roll. I don't collect errors unless it a true variety from NGC. I know this will be a one of a kind indeed. This can be seen with the naked eye as well.
The question I have how would the "star" get there and where would it have come from. It looks larger than the stars on the edge. Would this be considered a "Die Clash"? There are two parallel lines that are near this star as well but does not show up on the pictu
Changes in perceptions and attitude and the effects on our sets.
Have you ever wished that you could take a set that you?ve put a lot of work into and compare what it looks like today to what it looked like a month or two ago? Wouldn?t it be nice to look at where you were and where you are and just consider what you?ve done and how you feel about it? I?ve been feeling that way lately about my signature set.
I know I?ve been stuck on discussing this set for quite a while now, but as far as co
Just a Silver Eagle
There wasn't too much action going on with my collection this month. The only thing that I bought and received was a 2007 SAE graded MS-70. It was an upgrade for my collection.
I also puchased a couple Abe Lincoln and Louis Braille proof silver dollars. They show "reserved and in stock" from the Mint. I am hoping for them to show up soon. Once I get those, I will send them off with another commemorative to NGC.
I also check every week or so for any info on the Silver Ea
A few upgrades
Early this year I purchased some gold off of TV. They were advertiseing Gold clear out. So I felt why not, $84 for a $5 Gold Eagle you had to buy 5, we purchased 10, for a total $844 plus shipping.
When I received them, they were different dates in a platic holder. So after awhile, I decided to send to NGS to see what they grade.
